WARNING: This is not a stand-alone. You must read book 1, Denial, first.

--------
So the first 20% of this was proceeding nicely except for maybe once again the lengthy back and forth conversations about the necklace and who did or didn’t or will or won’t do whatever. Then a long BDSM scene that had me wanting to start snapping my fingers, waving my hands to get their attention, and thinking, “Oh, for Pete’s Sake, not again! We don’t have time for this, people! Put the duct tape away and your clothes back on! We need to wrap this up!” Yeah, not a good sign so early into it that my patience had completely run out. By 40%, I realized I needed to surrender and throw in the towel all together. Folks, seriously, I think this should have been one book, certainly no more than two. It has been dragged out way too dang l-o-n-g. I’m D-o-n-e! Book 1, IMHO, was the only book worth reading, and it, of course, ended in a cliffhanger.

Finding out Sasha was assigned to sleep with a certain someone for days just to keep him busy. Well, that’s just all kinds of wrong, too, folks. If a fictional character could sue an author for defamation of character in court, I think Sasha would win! Also wrong is the repetitive writing...something happens and it is repeated in subsequent conversations...again and again. I stopped reading at 60%. The storyline was like watching a dog chase its tail. I honestly no longer care about anyone or who has the darn necklace. Here’s to hoping others enjoy this series. For me, it’s been a long time since I was so disappointed in a series I regret my time reading it.

Title: Surrender, Series: Careless Whispers (Book 3), Author: Lisa Renee Jones, Pages: 320, not a stand-alone, must read books in order, first person, very graphic smexy scenes with lusty language, some BDSM/spanking, flashbacks of abusive BDSM, amnesia heroine, nobody messes with me or my woman type hero, did not finish, stopped @ 60%.

Book 1 - Denial, Pages: 321, 11/24/15
Book 2 - Demand, Pages: 320, 5/31/16
Book 3 - Surrender, Pages: 320, 1/9/17

Well this series definitely ended with a bang! We finally learn all of Ella's secrets and the mystery behind the necklace. We also get to see inside the mind of her friend Sara and how she is dealing with finding Ella safe. Ella and Kayden's connection is stronger than ever but Ella's memory loss is preventing her from moving forward with Kayden. The mystery of the missing journal pages continues to bother Ella, could there be traitor in their group or is Ella's blackouts getting worst? Will Ella fully understand the connection between the memories of her father and the necklace?

Great ending and fast paced. There is a lot going on in this book, between Ella regaining her memory as well as finding the connection with her past and present; therefore, it got a little confusing to keep up but didn't diminish the story.

Surrender is the third and final book in the Careless Whispers Series. This explosive conclusion offers a perfect blend of action, romance, passion, and intrigue.

Surrender picks up directly after Demand and Ella has discovered more of her identity and reconnected with her best friend, Sara. With Kayden by her side, it seems as though she has all of the pieces of her life in front of her she only needs to put them all together. Even with their blissful connection, Kayden is on high alert. Concerned for her safety, he brings his men together to set up a plan to protect Ella and find the missing necklace before it lands in the hands of his nemesis. Kayden desperately wants Ella to trust him to keep her safe. As the mystery of her past is revealed, Kayden and Ella must prepare for anything and everything that will stand in their way.

Told in multiple POV, Surrender has a creative plot with complex characters. The passion between Kayden and Ella is explosive, and the mafia elements enhanced the story greatly with its fast paced action and Kayden's alpha male protective spirit! I have been engrossed by this series since the very first book in the series Denial. The character connections are strong, and I was greatly intrigued by the crossover characters from the Inside Out Series. If you are a fan of mafia romance, passion, complex characters and an intriguing plot, than this series is a must read for you!

I highly recommend Surrender and the entire Careless Whispers Series to all my reading friends. This was my first Lisa Renee Jones series, and now that I have had a taste of this author's work, I certainly look forward to checking out more!

Surrender, the third and final book in the Careless Whispers series, is a sexy, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride to the finish. Picking up where the second book leaves off, Ella’s memory is slowly returning. Her relationship with Kayden is put to the test. And, with the major puzzle pieces starting to fall into place, there is fresh danger and new questions with each revelation. There were even appearances from some of my favorite characters from the Inside Out series, Chris and Sara!

I fell in love with this series with the first book, Denial, and read the second book, Demand, as soon as I could get my hands on it. This author weaves a mystery that keeps me guessing as the pages fly by. You can’t help but be consumed with finding out all of the answers to all of the plot's riddles. I was blown away by some of the secrets that were revealed in this book! My only real criticism, and it's a minor one, is that I would have preferred that the POVs be only Ella and Kayden's.

With strong female characters, sexy, enigmatic alpha males, sex scenes that scorch the pages, and a plot so twisty you’ll be second guessing yourself over and over again, I highly recommend this book and this series.

4.5 stars--SURRENDER is the third and final installment in Lisa Renee Jones’s contemporary, adult CARELESS WHISPERS romantic suspense series focusing on billionaire businessman Kayden Wilkens, and Ella Ferguson. The Careless Whispers series is a spin off from Lisa’s INSIDE OUT series. Ella is Sara McMillan’s (Inside Out Series) best friend and has gone missing following a trip to Europe. You do not have to have read the INSIDE OUT SERIES to follow the premise of the Careless Whispers series. SURRENDER should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately upon the events of book two DEMAND.

SOME BACKGROUND: While in Italy, American citizen Ella Ferguson was found battered and bruised from an attack that left our heroine with a concussion and traumatic amnesia. Waking up in the hospital beside a beautiful stranger found Ella in a world of confusion with no memories including her own identity and the reasons for her present situation. Enter Kayden Wilkens, American billionaire and Leader of the Italian branch of The Underground (treasure hunting operation) and the man who claims to have saved Ella’s life.

Told from first person point of view (Ella Ferguson) with a few chapters from Sara McMillan’s POV, SURRENDER reveals the truth behind Ella’s trip to Europe, and her connection to the missing butterfly necklace reported to be worth over three hundred million dollars. As Ella’s memory slowly returns the danger increases as the French and Italian mobs search for the missing piece of jewelry, targeting Ella is a dangerous game of hide and seek. As powerful a man as Kayden Wilkens is, he is unable to protect the woman that he loves. What ensues is the return of Ella’s memories, and a planned attack against those threatening everyone Ella loves.

SURRENDER is an exciting and action packed story line of revenge, betrayal, power and love. The revealing and intriguing premise; romance and love; mystery and suspense all combine to draw the reader into an innovative and exceptional conclusion to the Careless Whispers series. The addition and cross over with Chris Merit and Sara McMillan, as well as Blake Walker brings familiarity and resolution; cohesion and history. Lisa Renee Jones adds a brief character description at the start of the story reminding the readers of the ‘who’ and ‘what’ in the previous installments.

SURRENDER and the CARELESS WHISPERS series is an intriguing, imaginative and passionate look at the price of power, and the search for the ultimate prize.

Surrender is the third book in the Careless Whispers series. You must read the series from the beginning to fully understand what is going on with this story. Its complex and has many twists and turns. Trusted allies and brutal enemies. I love that Lisa has character bios in the beginning of the books. It was very helpful since I am horrible with names and what role they play after reading many books in between. Anyway, back to Ella and Kayden's story...

Ella's memory is still spotty but everyday comes with more memories from her past. She still fears that she was once Kayden's enemy and if that is true, she could lose the man that she loves. At this point, she has to trust her instincts and they are telling her that someone is watching her. Waiting to strike. She knows that Garner is actively looking for her and the three-hundred million dollar necklace that she hid away. Her mind is still blocking the location but more pieces to the puzzle are being connected. And with more than one mob boss looking for the necklace, it's a lot of pressure on her mind, body, and soul. Especially when she doesn't know who or what she really is.

Jayden's number one concern is Ella's safety. He wants this mystery over with and fast. He can't stand that his enemies are now also hers. He also has to ensure The Underground's safety while keeping their reputation. All he wants to do is find the necklace without anyone getting killed so he can move on with Ella. He needs to make sure that she understands what being with him means. He also needs to her to know that he loves her, no matter what. But what if she really is his enemy?

I thought this was a great conclusion to the Careless Whispers series. Ella is a complete badass in this book. She doesn't cower. She holds her own. And knows exactly what she wants. She might not know every aspect of her past but she does know that she wants to be by Kayden's side. Then there is Kayden aka Hawk. He is protective, sexy, and mysterious. Together, they have to fight for their future.

Overall...it's a complex mystery that kept me wondering what was going to happen next. It's also sexy and even has some funny moments.

P.S. I hope there are some spin-offs in the future!

Quotes:

“Are you still making a point?”
“If you have to ask, I haven’t made it.”

“My life is a fucking foreign novel written in twenty languages, sweetheart. Complicated is what I do.”

“Oh Annie,” I say, opening the purse to stroke my gun. “How I missed you.”

This is book 3 in the Careless Whispers Series, and I was not warned that this series must be read in order. So, I read this as a stand alone. There’s a lot I didn’t understand in the beginning (the characters and what in the world was going on). Therefore, it took a while for me to get into this book. That tainted my experience a bit.

In Surrender our heroine, Ella, is struggling to regain memory and she does. It’s fast-paced action suspense with hot sexy times. The author is a wonderful writer, great at characters, and certainly has created an intriguing word. Ella is involved with two mafia stepbrothers: Niccolo and Neuville and must figure out how and why. There’s also a possible connection to the CIA and a butterfly necklace which factors into everything. She has to figure out all the pieces of the puzzle with time ticking.

Overall, Surrender was a captivating romantic suspense. I’d recommend read the first two in the series before this one. I’m going back to pick those up and fill in the gaps.

Author Lisa Renee Jones has done it again with this final entry Careless Whispers series. Passion, mystery and lots of surprises tie this series up very nicely with Surrender. Hopefully you remember where Demand left off at because the story picks up right there. All those extra previous shenanigans get address, the mole gets exposed and plenty of other twists get exposed, most of which were too surprising to anticipate. Okay maybe I did figure out one or two of them but the mole...nope.

The real star to the story is the relationship between Ella and Kayden, well that and Ella's memory loss. Of course the last book would have everything come back so expect questions to be all answered. There's a humdinger of a plot twist to go with it because Ella is actually...! Not going to say anything but that was quite a unexpected factor that takes everybody by storm...especially Ella! as for the romance between Ella and Kayden - sweeter, hotter, and Whoa! does the love come through! It's not all smooth sailings for them and the author definitely takes us for a journey for them to get their HEA.

Of all the series I have read by LRJ, this has been my hands down favorite. The suspense, romance and unexpected twist Ella and Kayden have endured, in my mind, is well worth the read. If you can't decide which series of LRJ to read first, I highly suggest to pick Careless Whispers.

Overall, I enjoyed this series. It’s not for anyone with a weak stomach as there are some nasty people in it that do nasty things. The story wasn’t too predictable which I appreciated but after the long, drawn out story it seemed to end abruptly which I’m guessing means we’ll get a little more. I really think this could have been 2 books. As I felt with books 1 and 2, there was a lot of does he, doesn’t he; am I, aren’t I; can I, can’t I trust so and so that was extraneous and felt like unnecessarily added dialog.

Kayden is pretty fantastic throughout the series and that doesn’t change here. If anything, he gets better. Ella is even tougher than we initially saw and is as big a bada$$ as Kayden.

Obviously, everything is revealed here and I won’t give anything away. There is potential for more from a few side characters which I anticipate but don’t know if I would read. If you’ve read books 1 and 2, this is a must read to find out what happens next.

Title: Surrender
Author: Lisa Renee Jones

5+ smashing stars

It took three instalments to finally get all the answers to the many questions that the first two books had left: answering some and creating so many others. I'll hand it to Lisa Renee Jones, she absolutely knows how to keep her readers in the dark until she's good and ready to reveal any type of tid bit that would lead Ella and Kayden one stop closer to unlocking her memories and the mystery behind the woman who lost everything but gained so much more in one night. Surrender starts off exactly where Demand ends, so reading both instalments is absolutely crucial if you want to understand what happens.

4 breath taking dreams

This couple never ceases to amaze me: as strong as their connection is, the unknown of what Ella's memories hide makes so many uncertainties that sometimes creates many tensions between the two. However, like the man we've come to know, Kayden sticks by Ella's side during the entire ordeal, showing us just the kind of man we'd all wish we had or that we have. I can't get enough of Lisa Renee Jones' writing and I can't wait to read more by her very soon.

Wow! What a ride in this story full of romance, mystery, secrets, action, and suspense! Finally the answers to so many questions are answered. You definitely need to read Denial and Demand, books 1 and 2, before reading Surrender. You won't be disappointed, this is a fantastic series. From beginnin to end this story captivates you. I love Kayden and Ella and also Chris and Sara who also make an appearance in this book. I'm hoping we get more of each couples story and the other geat characters in the book. A great read!

Great ending to this amazing series. I was hooked from beginning to end. Kayden and Ella’s chemistry is steamy and the story is fast paced and filled with drama and suspense. Loved it!

Surrender is the final installment in the « Careless Whispers » series, a spin-off of the « Inside Out » series. Lisa Renee Jones weaves once again layers upon layers of mystery in this fast paced and riveting romantic suspense that picks up where Demand left off.

Ella’s memories are slowly returning. As the flashbacks become clearer, she feels that her present is closely connected to her past. She knows there is much more about her than what she has pieced together, though. The dark spots seem to revolve around the most traumatic events. She is afraid some revelations could harm Kayden or hurt his entire operation.

Kayden and Ella’s relationship is based on trust and love. Their connection is intense, the sexy scenes were scorching hot and well-written. Kayden never hesitates to do what is necessary to protect Ella. He is a man who knows how to get what he wants! This hero is an irresistible combination of tenderness, danger and power. Kayden and Ella both know the enemies are lurking in the shadows. Ella stills has to tell the good guys from the bad guys. She is convinced the bad guys will come for her, she is definitely a target. I loved that she is no damsel in distress, she is skilled and trained to defend herself, but she is still handicapped by her amnesia.

This story had a general atmosphere of deceit, mystery and secrets, with enough twists and turns to keep me flipping the pages. The final twist was brilliant, I hadn’t seen it coming. The writing style of Ms. Jones is utterly addictive. I never can get enough of her fast-paced, riveting stories. This series has come to a conclusion, but I can’t wait to see what this author has in store next.

I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley.

I know I am just one of many who were eagerly anticipating this conclusion to Ella and Kayden's saga. It picked up around where Demand ended: Ella and Sara are on the phone and it's told in Sara's POV. Quelle Surprise! I liked getting some glimpses of Sara (not really, you know I wanted to see Chris) in this one.

We're then immediately thrust back into the dynamic of Ella and Kayden's relationship. She's still struggling to remember and ultimately the right triggers are conveniently helping the cause. He's doing everything in his power as the Hawk to end her torment and to provide her with safety and security, as well as be the supportive, caring and considerate man that loves and is loved by her. Their love and connection was as strong as ever, despite her habitual hesitations. Their chemistry was as off-the-charts as ever.

On the suspense side, a plan finally falls into place, even considering the unpredictable nature of the players involved. Niccolo is still expecting Kayden and Ella to eliminate his brother, Neuville, and provide him with the necklace. They just need to stay one step ahead of him. Unfortunately, Neuville is a psycho, no one is safe, and I was doubting who could be trusted.

I know I'm going against the grain. I know that I will be of the minority. I'm actually used to that, but I didn't love this book. As much as I had looked forward to this story, it felt anti-climactic. It left me still yearning for a conclusion. As beautifully written as it was, I wasn't wowed. This had a lot to do with the redundancy of Ella's inner thoughts (am I really the only one who was annoyed?) and the lack of an effective ending. It didn't touch me. I wasn't satisfied with the way things were left in the end. The only thing that gave me hope is the hint that the author left that there may be an epilogue for this couple in the future.

This was an enjoyable and entertaining conclusion with an action scene that highlighted Ella's badassness. There were appropriate doses of love and forever between her and Kayden and I was still very much in love with his character. I'm crossing my fingers for a future epilogue!!

Sigh. Well, that's it, the trilogy is all over, but what a ride it was! It was the kind of ride that Lisa Renee Jones excels at taking us on, and in the exciting conclusion to the Careless Whispers series, we get all of those unanswered questions finally answered. No, I won't tell you any of them. Read the book! And if you haven't read this series, start with Denial.

Ella finally finds out all of the missing pieces she's missing, and through it all, she has the leader of the Underground, Kaden. (The Hawk) Ella becomes his Lady Hawk, and there are people who want what she's hiding.

We see some favorites from past series like Inside Out and the Walker Brothers. This was such a satisfying and very explosive end to the series. I'm just sad to see it end.

This is a great book; this is the third and last book in the Careless Whispers series written by Lisa Renee Jones. Passion burns fiercely hot between Ella Ferguson and Kayden Wilkens, the man who held secrets and lies in his hands, and then allowed them to fall into hers. But even though he has become her anchor--helping her recover from amnesia after finding her unconscious in an alley, and allowing her into his secret world--all is not what it seems. Kayden still has secrets, and pieces of Ella's past are still shrouded in the darkness of her mind, while the powerful man who hunts her will not stop until she is his. In this final, explosive novel in the Careless Whispers series, Ella discovers that while her life with Kayden didn't begin in that dark alley...it could easily end there. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. I can’t believe that this is the last book of this series. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I have been waiting months for this book to finally learn who Ella's is. I read the first books in the series, Denial and Demand, back to back and was dying waiting for Surrender….which is probably a good time to mention that these must be read in order! Of course, part of me was so excited to finally read it and part of me was apprehensive that I would be left unsatisfied by the series conclusion or left with loose ends. I didn’t need to worry, Surrender was fantastic and the perfect thrill ride!

So, we pick up exactly where book 2 ended and Ella is still not sure who she is and where the necklace is. Parts of her memory are coming back, but she still feels that something is not adding up and that she could end up being an enemy to Kayden and the Underground. He listens to her concerns which melts her heart, but he is 100% confident that she is meant to be his and he will do anything to protect her.

We get to see Sara and Chris who have been looking for Ella, but Ella is terrified that she will bring them harm. Unfortunately, I have not read the books that feature Sara and Chris, so I have some catching up to do, but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the overall story.

I 100% loved how Kayden and Ella are written. She is so strong and smart and the way she can think on her feet is amazing. And the way Kayden knows just how to calm her…..I loved it! And the way the pieces are presented and pieced together is just perfect. Lisa Renee Jones is a master at writing romantic suspense. I cannot express how fantastic this entire series was!

4.25-4.5 STARS

As a huge fan of Lisa Renee Jones’ Inside Out series, I was left with one burning question at the conclusion of that series: what exactly happened to Ella Ferguson? Now—after much anticipation—I FINALLY have the long-awaited answer to that ever burning question. With the recent release of “Surrender” (Careless Whispers #3), all the puzzle pieces come together to tell Ella’s story in its entirety.

The Careless Whispers series is a spinoff of LRJ’s Inside Out series. Throughout this 3-book series, we are given bits of information pertaining to Ella’s disappearance while watching her relationship with Kayden “The Hawk” Wilkens grow in intensity. Suffering from amnesia, Ella has been slow to recover her memories. Now, as “Surrender” picks up where “Demand” left off, more memories surface, and the truth is right at hand.

The conclusion to Ella’s story is nothing short of a roller coaster ride filled with twists, intrigue and suspense. And while I enjoyed the unfolding mystery leading up to the series’ finale, the sexual component to Ella & Kayden’s relationship lacked the intense passion of the previous books. The insertion of “old friends” (Blake, Chris & Sara) is an added bonus to this book, but ultimately, left me wanting more. Hopefully, old friends will unite again, and we’ll get another glimpse into the lives of these endearing characters that LRJ has so brilliantly brought to life.

QueenZany 5 Star Review
Surrender
Lisa Renee Jones

I can not believe the Carless Whispers series is now over! Over this last year I was hypnotized, spellbound and marveled by Kayden and Ella's love story! That just swept me off my feet!

This spectacular series hit everyone of my reading needs.
Such as depth as in characters growth, imagination, plot development and skilled execution of storyline flow.
For example bringing in characters from other series and entwining them in the storyline. Is something that I consider Lisa Renee Jones to be a master at! Plus there is that complex storyline of backstory when it comes to Elsa. To see it flow off the pages like, it was second hand nature. Just blew my mind away. Which in my opinion is something a only a skilled writer can execute.

Surrender is a world win of suspense, mystery and sex appeal! That will surely exercise your will power at putting a book down!
