So I’m a little torn on this installment in the series. I’m fascinated by the world Henley’s created, and I feel like this one wrapped up the story from the previous books well, but honestly, the first book is still my favorite. The second one made me uncomfortable, and not in a “challenging my boundaries” way, but a “dear god, just don’t” way. This one was better than that, but the romance felt shoe-horned in and almost...manipulative? I think if you like a more traditional Alpha hero, you might like this. Not my cup of tea, though.

Book three and I would suggest reading all three in order.
What I noticed first and enjoyed most about this one was we left the ‘family’ alone for a while. Don’t get me wrong, of course Randy, Lyle, Vaughn, Rafe are around but we added Gavin and Matthew to the mix.
Matthew has started working at his dream job and is handpicked for a special project. Problem is that project turns his world upside down. And his nice and orderly way of thinking and life is no more. Gavin is brought in by the lab to help Matthew research this new project.
What I loved about this, even though Matthew and Gavin were living together under the pretence of a married couple, they had a slow getting to know you period. That made us fall in love with them. As they fell in love, all the while plotting and planning to save Wolf and rid the area of the bad Vamps.
I enjoyed how we got to know and learn a little more about Rafe and his abilities. How they are affecting the relationship not just with Lyle but with the whole family.
The end of the book was probably one of my absolute favorites. All the headlines, the bylines, the comments from Matthew and crew, just so well but together, even though you weren’t sure it was going that way. Happy it did.
