I was a little worried that I wasn't going to fall in love with this series. I mean, I liked the first one but it wasn't anything that really stood out to me. But what it did do was get me interested in the follow-up. And let me tell you, the follow-up was worth it!

Bailey Hartwell is the Princess of the Boardwalk. Everyone knows her and everyone loves her. With her family owned inn doing well and her love life secured, Bailey is on top of the world. That is until she walks in on her boyfriend screwing someone else. Suddenly Bailey's world is turned upside down and she begins questioning everything in life and panicking about her future. She doesn't want to end up all alone and feels like she's running out of time.

Vaughn Tremaine left the big city craving the small town life, which is why he set up shop in Hartwell. At first, the town wasn't so sure about this outsider, but over time he's started to warm up to the locals. All except Bailey. And the last thing Vaughn expected was to fall for the one woman who despises him. But when Bailey encounters heartbreak, Vaughn steps up in a way no one, even Vaughn, expects.

What I loved about this book was the progression of Bailey and Vaughn's relationship. It wasn't something that they both just suddenly knew, it was something that had been simmering for a long time until something happened and it blew up. Their banter, their loyalty, and their support of each other just surrounded them and made them that much more stronger.

The town of Hartwell is just adorable. The side characters fill the pages and I want to know more about them and just more about this town. Young created a real community with real problems and feelings and you find yourself wanting these people to succeed in their goals.

Side note, do we know if there's a book 3? I really want Jack's story!

Since I read the first book in this series, I was really looking forward to Bailey and Vaughn's story. I was not disappointed. I was excited to see how these two people, who seemingly dislike each other, but have amazing chemistry come together. We learn a lot more about Bailey's past, which I really enjoyed. I am really loving this series and can't wait to see what happens next.

Hart’s Boardwalk……it’s a place full of history. A ‘town’ that takes pride in the boardwalk. One of the businesses along the pier is Hartwell’s Inn. It is a family establishment that has weathered through many storms and tribulations. Bailey Hartwell is the owner of Hartwell Inn. A pillar in the community who has held on to everything that captures the nuances of living in Hartwell.

Bailey has lived life on her terms. Until she caught her long time boyfriend in a compromising position. One that left her rethinking all of the plans she made about her future. Realizing that she wasn’t really living life, Bailey decides to focus on what she wants the most. A life surrounded by the community she has come to love.

Hart’s Boardwalk has been in jeopardy of succumbing to the Devlin family and their unlimited supply of money and influence. One person determined to help the store owners on Hart’s Boardwalk is Vaughn Tremaine. The wealthy businessman stopped Devlin from acquiring property along the boardwalk before. Now - Bailey is in jeopardy of losing her Inn. Vaughn is determined to stop that from happening.

The two have fought their attraction for a long time. A back and forth banter always present when the two were in the same room. Now they no longer can find reasons to stay away from one another. Causing their attraction to burn as bright as the sun along the pier. As Bailey finds herself in the middle of a dangerous situation, Vaughn is the presence that keeps her calm in the middle of the storm. The only problem is Vaughn’s reluctance to open his heart to anyone. Something Bailey craves from the sexy businessman.

Tensions are running high along the boardwalk. Now that Bailey is fighting to keep from losing the Hartwell Inn, Vaughn finds it impossible to stay away from the woman that captures his attention. As the fire burns brighter with each passing day, Bailey and Vaughn are left wondering where they stand with each other.

After diving into life at Hart’s Boardwalk, I couldn’t wait to discover what was in store for Bailey and Vaughn. Both run successful businesses along the boardwalk that draws tourists from near and far. Once Bailey found herself single again, Vaughn found it harder to ignore that burning fire he felt for the woman that has stolen his thoughts. The banter between these two characters is hilarious at times. Their attraction can be felt throughout each turn of the page. A sweet and steamy read that anyone will enjoy!! I look forward to visiting Hart’s Boardwalk again. After all - Jack is drawing my attention in a very engaging way (wink).

Every Little Thing is a charming second-chance romance between two enemies in a small beach town. Having met Vaughn and Bailey in the previous book, The One Real Thing, we got a little taste of what their book was going to be like. Their constant bickering, teasing, bantering, and general hatred for one another each time they crossed paths. They didn’t lose steam in-between books, either.

The undertone between the two bordered on hate-lust in every interaction. The self-proclaimed sweetheart of the town against the too-classy hotel owner, the outsider. Their dynamic was fun and feisty; bringing out their playfulness without making them petty. I loved seeing two outwardly different-appearing individuals find out that they weren’t all that different from one another underneath it all. The games and twists and turns to get there were just as fun to witness.

My one concession is that I just couldn’t feel the angst. I felt it between them in their lead-up in book one, but it didn’t seem to transfer over to theirs–or maybe, and this is quite likely, it’s just me. I still really enjoyed their tumultuous and sexy romance, but it didn’t hit me in the gut as I had expected. I do recommend it as Young’s writing is on point, as always, crafting very palpable characters and a love story that is just as beautiful as the sunset on the cover. I love this small town and the characters within it, and I honestly cannot wait to see which couple we’re graced with next.

I loved this book! EVERY LITTLE THING is the second book in Samantha Young's The Hart's Boardwalk Series. I'd recommend reading THE ONE REAL THING before picking up this one because the characters meet in the first book. Each book in this series is a standalone about a different couple in the seaside town Samantha Young created. When I picked up EVERY LITTLE THING I felt like I was back in the town, revisiting the characters and catching up on their lives. Bailey and Vaughn are the main couple in this book and they start off as enemies and turn into lovers. Their chemistry was off the charts and I really enjoyed their interactions. The romance heated up and turned into something really beautiful. This series is one I'd recommend to all romance lovers. Samantha Young always delivers a great love story.

This series is fully nestling-in with book two of the Hart's Boardwalk series. The 'setting up' that was necessary in One Real Thing, laid the perfect foundation for knowing and understanding this small, seaside resort. I was really looking forward to Vaughn and Bailey's story and it did live up to my expectations. This was a great enemies to lovers read and in my opinion, it had a Pride and Prejudice feel to the storyline, which I enjoyed.

The story started off with a bang and I was immediately drawn into Bailey's world with a dose of compassion and admiration for her tenacity. Bailey was likeable and I enjoyed her lack of filter, providing some choice dialogue. The woman who are friends in this series, really have me invested, their relationships with one another resonated with my own girl-friend relationships.

Vaughn had all the makings of a good guy but seemed stuck in the sinking mud of a*****e. He thought he was being noble but ended up being hurtful, however I continued to root for these two. The chemistry and heat was pretty darn wonderful in this book and I enjoyed a little difference in Samantha Young's style of writing chemistry and heated scenes.

All in all, this was a great read, easy to sink into and I have a few different hopes for future characters. I cannot wait to see where this series goes as a whole.

'Every Little Thing' did not disappoint. I enjoyed this book so much! Vaughn and Bailey, what can I say? They were intense and passionate. Oh, but their stubbornness, my gosh made your head spin. They couldn't make up their minds to save their lives. Though their push-and-pull did make it entertaining. Vaughn and Bailey were so good together, seriously, they were fire!

Vaughn, Vaughn, Vaughn, Vaughn, Vaughn!!!! Mmm, Mmm, Mmm. Mr. Tremaine, you sir, dear lord YES! Ooo boy, that man *fans self* I am absolutely over-the-moon smitten with Vaughn Tremaine.

In need more! I need to know Dahlia's story. Need to know more about Emery. I just need so much more!

I'm partial to the enemies-to-friends trope so jumping into the latest offering from Samantha Young was time well spent for me. She brings us back to the friendly town of Hartwell, where everyone knows everyone and they all look out for each other. Bailey being a descendent of the town's founding family feels a special protectiveness towards her home and isn't afraid to stand up to those who might tamper with its integrity and history. That includes going head-to-head with Vaughn Tremain, a successful businessman who has made his residence in Hartwell. The locals' first impression of him was when purchased hotel property along the boardwalk - a highly coveted tourist attraction. Even though he has respected the much-loved aesthetics of the boardwalk thus far, many of the residents still view him as an outsider, a snooty, rich businessman who looks down on the townies. Their opinion of him isn't aided by the fact that he and Bailey who runs the longstanding family inn, are constantly at odds.

A story like this can only be good if the players are evenly matched and they certainly are here. Bailey and Vaughn trade barbs and insults so easily it's like watching a fun and intense tennis match. There's an advantage to being older and wiser in this romance because you know what you're willing to compromise on and what's not up for negotiation. I enjoyed how Bailey would get so riled up by Vaughn that she'd sometimes back herself into a corner thanks to those inadvertent sexual innuendos. Vaughn doesn't escape unscathed either. Every interaction they have only makes him realize that no other woman lights his fire the way she does.

My fondness for them as a couple is a turnaround because I wasn't all that keen on Bailey in the first book (The One Real Thing) where I found her personality to be rather nosey and intrusive sometimes. In this book, she readily admits to her shortcomings in that area and that she's working on respecting people's spaces as evidenced by her growing friendship with Emery, the painfully shy and quiet coffee shop owner. Every Little Thing shows her as a thoughtful and loyal friend with a big heart who always wants to look after others.

I think Young stepped it up here and I'm sure it's because these two characters gave her plenty of material at her disposal. Bailey and Vaughn have this playful and heated chemistry that translates well when they do come together, especially in the bedroom. As far as he goes, Vaughn is not so much the alpha-male as he is a genuinely decent guy. One of my favourite aspects of his particular storyline is his relationship with his father, something I pleasantly surprised by.

Every Little Thing has the humour, sexual tension and good feels that'll wrap around you quite nicely. It might even tempt you to seek out a quiet getaway in a place like Hartwell. Add it to your TBR list now!

Bailey and Vaughn have had an antagonistic relationship since Vaughn built his hotel on the Bailey’s beloved boardwalk. They verbally spar and snark, and could be pretty terrible to each other, but everyone around can sense the underlying attraction there. That’s been a moot point since Bailey’s been with the same guy for the last ten years, a lackluster relationship to anyone with eyes, but it’s safe and comfortable to Bailey. Tom is reliable and would never break her heart, or would he? That question is answered leaving Bailey on her own and ready to move on. She’s attracted to Vaughn, and can finally acknowledge it, but should she when she barely likes the man?

They dynamics in their relationship have changed and Vaughn finds himself drawn to Bailey over and over, and even though he hates that he’s attracted to her, there’s no use in denying it. He’s not interested in settling down, so it would be a waste of time to act on his feelings, but still, he can’t stay away from Bailey.

Both Bailey and Vaughn hate that their attracted to each other for different personal reasons. For one, Vaughn acts like a jerk pretty much every time Bailey runs into him, and Bailey isn’t very nice either. One hurt turns into another snipe, and they just keep the animosity going, until Bailey runs into some trouble with the notorious Devlin’s and Vaughn makes it his business to defend her. Seeing Vaughn in a new, positive light changes Bailey’s initial opinion and both let their guard down for a steamy night of passion. Of course, this is where Vaughn turns into a bigger ass and screws up everything. There was push and pull, and these two keep circling, because they can’t stay away! The heart wants what the heart wants! For the most part I was wrapped up in their story, getting to the whys for Vaughn’s reluctance, and Bailey’s trust issues, because they do each have their reasons. I did roll my eyes a time or two when the drama was a bit predictable, and annoying, but thankfully it wasn’t drawn out.

On a side note, I found Bailey’s sister, Vanessa so very irritating I wanted to reach into the book and smack her! Bailey didn’t just lie down and take her antics, but she was much nicer in the end than I could’ve been.

I enjoyed Every Little Thing far more than the first book in the series and I’m very interested in the next story to come. It seems like Jack Devlin and Emery might be next. I wonder how Jack will redeem himself. Can’t really say I’m over here swooning, but I haven’t heard his side of the story yet.

3.5 stars-- EVERY LITTLE THING is the second installment in Samantha Young’s contemporary, adult HART’S BOARDWALK romance series focusing on the people and places of Hartwell, Delaware. This is thirty somethings hotelier Vaughn Tremaine, and inn owner Bailey Hartwell’s story line. EVERY LITTLE THING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty although I recommend reading the series in order as Vaughn and Bailey’s story begins in book one THE ONE REAL THING.

Told from first person point of view (Bailey) and third person perspective (Vaughn) EVERY LITTLE THING looks at the frustrating love-hate relationship between competing hotel owners Bailey Hartwell, and Vaughn Tremaine in Hartwell Delaware. Bailey Hartwell is the proprietor and co-owner of the family heritage hotel; a descendent of the original town founders, but on going battles with a local developer –the Devlin family-find our heroine facing a break in and assault. Enter Vaughn Tremaine, the man Bailey has lusted after for several years. What ensues is the acrimonious relationship between Vaughn and Bailey, the dissolutionment of a ten year relationship, and the ongoing heartbreak with every personal encounter.

Both Vaughn and Bailey battle demons from the past: rejection, jealousy, betrayal and heartbreak have hardened each of our leading characters but none more so than Vaughn Tremaine-a billionaire hotelier who refuses to accept that marriage and love are part of his future.

The relationship between Vaughn and Bailey is tempestuous at best. The back and forth, love-hate, antagonizing exchanges are frustrating but the sexual energy is palpable and not easy to ignore. The other characters struggle with the hostile communication and interactions between Vaughn and Bailey-an emotional exchange between two people afraid to admit their attraction and desire for one another….in this my enjoyment of the story line faltered with their belligerent and combative attitudes and immature emotional mindsets. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive.

There is a large secondary and supporting cast of characters including the introduction of Bailey’s prodigal sister Vanessa-a spoiled, selfish, young woman apparently intent on destroying Bailey’s life. Cooper Lawson and Jessica Huntington (The One Real Thing #1), as well as Cooper’s sister Cat and her son Joey, Iris and Ira who own the local Italian eatery, Emery Saunders book store owner, Cooper’s ex-wife Dana, and the embattled Devlin family return for the ongoing saga of the Hart’s Boardwalk business association vs Ian, Stu and Jack Devlin. Dahlia McQuire, the shy and withdrawn local gift shop owner struggles with her attraction to Jack Devlin, a man who may or may not side with the Devlin clan.

EVERY LITTLE THING is a story of angst, heartbreak, mistakes and family. The premise is intense ; the characters are frustrating and challenging; the romance struggles with preconceived notions, and the back and forth immaturity of two people battling their own emotional demons.

3.5 stars!

I've been looking forward to Bailey and Vaughn's story since The One Real Thing. They have this tangible chemistry wrapped in animosity that was enjoyable to watch. So my expectations were set very high.

For the most part, my expectations were met. I enjoyed their hateful banter and the fact they're obviously hot for each other. But their romance was uneven for me. They spent so much time sniping and hating each other throughout the book that the romance kinda fell by the wayside for me. One of the reasons why I feel like the romance lacked was the fact that Bailey had a lot of shit to deal with. From her crazy sister to her inn and the Devlins...and oh, throw in some ex in there too. It was too much. Vaughn also has his hands full. And while the last few chapters did deliver on the sweet romance side it felt a little bit too late. It was still good but I wish there had been more of it.

Despite that, I find myself falling more and more in love with the people of Hartwell. I'm so curious about Jack Devlin. I hope we'll get his story. And oh, Bailey's bestie too. I can already feel the angst on that one.

While romance fell short for me, I still enjoyed reading this book. Samantha Young has a way of pulling you into her world and never letting you go. This series has already captured my attention and I won't stop until I've read every single story of this series.

Quinn's Review:

He’d come to Hartwell to escape the ugliness he’d left behind in Manhattan.

I’m back in Hartwell folks, and there’s no place that I’d rather be!!! I missed this group of characters and this setting so much! I forgot how much I fell in love with everything in The One Real Thing. As soon as a I met Vaughn Tremaine I craved to figure out what he was haunted by. Setting him up against Bailey Hartwell was going to be a fun match, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them!

Bailey Hartwell is the Princess of the Boardwalk in Hartwell. She is the last Hartwell descendent that still resides in this quaint little town and also the proud owner of the Hart’s Inn. We know from The One Real Thing that the Devlin Family is out to own property on the boardwalk at any cost. They are sneaky and they play dirty. So it’s no surprise who they have their sights on now since their last plan was spoiled by the powerhouse that is Vaughn Tremaine.

To put it mildly, Vaughn and Bailey don’t get along. Bailey is very protective of your little town so when Vaughn came on the scene, she threw everything she had at him to not disrupt Hartwell’s picturesque setting.

She would have gone up against him. Vaughn with all his money and power. No fear, just fire. Fuck, he admired her fire.

I absolutely loved Bailey’s character! She is feisty, has very little filter, and is extremely loyal. She is a rescuer, but she’s also extremely guarded, something that she learned early on is necessary in order to protect herself from another broken heart. And when she commits to something, she digs her heals in. And that includes her hatred for Vaughn Tremaine.

The problem was-well there were a number of problems with Vaughn Tremaine-the fact that a) he was much too attractive for his own good and b) unlike anyone else, he had the ability to make me feel insecure.

But there was one thing that she did appreciate about Vaughn Tremaine, he was Hartwell’s number 1 line of defense when it came to the Devlin’s.

Vaughn Tremaine is a bit of an enigma. He is wealthy, very powerful, too good looking for his own good, and for some reason, picked Hartwell to be his residence. I absolutely loved his inner dialogue!!! From Bailey’s perspective we only get to see the closed off and controlled side of Vaughn, but once things switch over to him, we get to see how Bailey Hartwell is his undoing and how that scared the living shit out of him…

The constant ache inside his chest intensified as he felt the full force of that smile upon him. Its power flooded through him until he had to tense against the sudden urge to grab her and kiss her breathless. Fuck. What the hell was this woman doing to him? Vaughn jerked his eyes towards the water, not needing the Princess of the Boardwalk to know she could undo him with her smile alone.

There was so much tension and hurt between these two characters that I knew that Young was going to take her sweet time getting them where they needed to be. I wasn’t expecting that it was going to take a quarter of the book for them to have one-on-one time, but damn when that happened everything exploded!!! This series is a slow process, Young isn’t in a rush. She takes her time with these characters and I fully appreciate that because it is well worth the wait!!!

I love a perfectly layered novel and Every Little Thing is a perfect example of that. We have this intense chemistry between Bailey and Vaughn, the Devlin Family causing trouble, Bailey’s crazy sister showing up to take over the inn, and all the other little stories in between. Not only do we get to see more of Cooper and Jessica, but we get a little more insight to what Young is setting up for Dahlia and Emery!!!!

This series is special to me. I think that it’s the sense of magic that I felt during The One Real Thing that has me hooked. I feel like I’ve been to Hartwell, that I’m part of this tightly knit group. I’m invested in their lives and stories. Each of them are so different and my intrigue hasn’t wavered one bit.

I absolutely ADORED the end of this novel!! The last 20% was perfection. Vaughn and Bailey are such passionate people that once they worked out their issues, there was no looking back and I. FREAKING. LOVED. IT!!!! You want to talk about grand gestures?!?! Then you need to read this book!!!!

And I saw something that lit my world up. Vaughn Tremaine cared about me.
The man I thought I might have been waiting for my whole life. All this time he’d been standing right in front of me, wearing a suit and a sexy-ass smirk.

Well, I absolutely adore this series, but I'm sad to say that this second installment was a bit of a let down. Along with everyone else who read The One Real Thing, my anticipation was soaring for Bailey and Vaughn's book. These two were bursting with potential and I couldn't wait to see how their love/hate attraction played out. These two had a kind of chemistry that is addictive to watch. Their snarky bantering clearly concealed the kind of passion that would be explosive when it finally ignited.

If you haven't read book one, let me give you a little background. Bailey Hartwell's family founded the town and she's your quintessential small town girl. She was born and raised there, and proud of it. She co-owns a quaint Inn and she's one of the most fiercely loyal people you could have as a friend. But if you get on her bad side, she takes no prisoners. Let me tell you, this woman had me at hello. Her sarcastic and witty personality is blunt and 100% real. I knew that when she opened her mouth, I was almost guaranteed a laugh.

Vaughn is a fairly new member to town, he's the owner of a hotel and Bailey's only competition. From the moment he and Bailey met, he rubbed her the wrong way. He was pure high society, city boy. Unfortunately he gave her the impression that he was a snob that held himself high and mighty above everyone else. (Which is not the case.) He's rich, sexy, and oozing an air of charm and mystery that women gravitate toward. Though he's not lacking female companionship, Vaughn is strictly against relationships. But if there was one woman who would tempt him, it's the one infuriating woman who won't quit getting under his skin. For four years, they've resisted and taken part in thinly veiled flirtations. But after she ends her ten year long dead-end relationship with her boyfriend, there was no longer any safe boundaries holding him back. He was so screwed.

At first, I was giddy with their interactions. However, after their one-night stand, things took a turn for the worse for me. Keep in mind, this is just my personal preference, and you may not find issue with it at all. Vaughn's cruel dismissal of Bailey after she let him in and gave him her trust pushed me over the edge. The way he intentionally hurt her angered me so badly, I was deep breathing and counting to ten to save my kindle from destruction. But I was willing to keep an open mind because if his secret past betrayal was enough, I would have let it go. Well, after waiting for much of the book for him to pull his head out of the sand and stand by the woman he loved, the explanation for his classic male commitment-phobe behavior just didn't cut it.

There were a couple of instances where I found the characters to act inconsistent with the personality that I've come to love. I've always admired Bailey's tough attitude, she isn't one who suffered fools. After Vaughn's cruel rejection (that shattered and humiliated her by the way) he left town, and when he returned, I was expecting a swift kick to his balls, maybe a body slam...a headlock. Something! Hey, don't put it past her, she's a ball buster, trust me. But what she really gave us was a regression to their love/hate bantering. There was no acknowledgement of what happened, it was as if now that she had seen what he could do in the sack, she was unable to see past her own lust for him.

The other thing that bothered me later was Vaughn's friendship with his disgusting friend Oliver. The man was human scum, he didn't even attempt to hide it. From the very beginning, I never understood his acceptance of him, it didn't add up to me. Vaughn has always been the sort of "white knight" in town. He has morals, and has proven his scorn for people who victimize others. Yes, Vaughn was a playboy himself, but to associate with someone whom he had no respect for? Nope, I didn't see it. In the end, there was a purpose for Oliver's introduction in this story, but it all felt too manufactured for my taste.

Now that I have that out of the way, I need to emphasize that in no way am I saying that this book is not worth your time. These characters had just as much of a draw that they did for me in the first book. The entire landscape of how Young connects the town members together is really incredible. To see how she weaves the intrigue and prickles your curiosity for every single one is noteworthy. I am dying- DYING for Jack, Emery, Ivy, and Dahlia's story. There were tons of laugh out loud moments that had me smiling uncontrollably. And in all honesty, as frustrated as I got with Vaughn, I couldn't set this book down.

I really struggled with my rating for a long time, but in the end I realized that this was just an okay read for me. Don't let that dissuade you from reading this however, if you're looking forward to reading it. It's more than likely that you won't have the same issues. There's a charm about this town that's undeniable, and my eagerness for the following in the series hasn't faded a bit.

There is not much more exciting as a reader and/or blogger than meeting a book you’ve been dying to read or an author whose work you’ve wanted to meet for a while. The giddy delight I get when I meet a new or new-to-me author’s words is BOOKWORM BLISS! That rush during that initial read is off-the-charts incredible! I finally popped my Samantha Young book cherry after embarrassingly hoarding her books for years…yes…YEARS!!! Oh what a beautiful and brilliant book Every Little Thing was from beginning to end!!!

Maybe because it’s because I grew up going to Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware beaches. Maybe it’s because the setting of this story at a Delaware beach hit home. I could picture myself walking the boardwalk in Every Little Thing because I’ve walked the boardwalks in Ocean City, Maryland, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This story stirred my senses because I’m a beach lover who takes in everything while there. Through this book, I smelled the salty air, felt the waves crash into me, watched the tides of the ocean swing back and forth like a pendulum, and tasted the seafood fresh from the water.

I fell in INSTANT LOVE with Every Little Thing, an achingly addictive love story that held me hard, humoring me…heating my body…hijacking my heart…HIJACKING ME. The entertaining and enticing writing was delicious…a delight to devour. I devoured Every Little Thing as if it were my drug, so ALLURING, AMUSING, and ACHINGLY ADDICTIVE. This was a book that I could not stop breathing.

Bailey Hartwell, the fire-red haired beauty with green eyes and a sassy mouth, was THE BEST HEROINE! I LOVED HER!!! Hilarious and blunt as can be, this gal has no filter and oh was she refreshing and real! She is brazen and not afraid to call people or things out as she sees fit with her quick wit.

This feisty and fierce heroine is used to calling the shots, being in control…until Vaughn Tremaine moves into her beach town. Tall, dark, and handsome with grey eyes, Vaughn is pompous, an implant from New York, a successful business owner, a know-it-all. He lives for control too and can’t help but stir up the spicy red-haired siren.

For years, Bailey and Vaughn walk a fine line between friends and enemies, frenemies, with an emphasis on enemy. The banter between them was a fusion of heat and hate. This book BURNED with BANTER and BLED ANGST where I could not get enough!

“Always so complimentary, Tremaine. It’s a wonder you don’t have a trail of panting ladies following after you. Oh, wait a second. It’s not.”

“I’m single because I want to be, Miss Hartwell. Unlike you, I’m strong enough to be alone rather than settle for mediocre. But then like attracts like, doesn’t it.”

Bastard.

These two together, a lethal mix of fire and ice, were EVERYTHING! I LOVED the combustible connection between Bailey and Vaughn, enticing and emotionally-charged. Opposites who definitely attract.

Vaughn looked at me like he wanted me. I knew there was power in my smile but wow.

I giggled and glowed, and ached in need. Vaughn made me a wanton woman. Oh did I LOVE THIS ALPHA!!!

"I bet you've thought about it. F**king the hostile Princess of the Boardwalk into submission."

“You have no idea.”

His mouth slammed down on mine, his kiss hard, punishing, almost painful.

For once, the Princess of Hartwell wants to relinquish control to Ice Man, Vaughn.
That kiss is HOT!!! That kiss is years of pent-up passion that exploded, fast and furiously, where I could feel its impact through the pages. That kiss is molten lava, which melted me from head to toe. That kiss sparked a fire that never may be extinguished between Bailey and Vaughn.

I felt like he could see into my soul and that I could finally see into his.

The beauty in these words touched my soul where I SWOONED so much!!!

"I like you at a distance.”

The problem is...Vaughn doesn’t do relationships.

In that moment, I almost hated him.

Bailey wants the happily ever after with Vaughn. She may have finally found a man who’s her equal, who takes her fire and cools it off with ice.

“I’m not the one running scared now, princess."

The push and pull…the back and forth…the hot and cold…this prince needs to get his act together and finally claim his princess before she flees like Cinderella at the ball.

Every Little Thing swept me up like an ocean breeze, where I felt the ocean air, and smelled the salty water. I was immersed into a small town of intimate characters who quickly captured my heart. This enchanting and entertaining story set in a small town awakens all of the senses in a love story brought to life. Thank you Berkley Romance for providing an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

On the previous book of The Hart's Boardwalk series (The One Real Thing), there are two characters that stood out for me: Vaughn Tremaine and Bailey Hartwell. These two don't get along well but the tension they created was palpable and it made me more curious so bad.

Bailey Hartwell is a fiery, passionate, independent and kindhearted woman. Everyone knows her because her ancestors are founders of their small town and she owns the Hartwell's Inn. She's warm to everyone except for the cold, rich, and sexy owner of Paradise Sands Hotel, Vaughn Tremaine. She is against him from the beginning as he expands his business from New York to her beloved town. However, Vaughn wasn't fazed by her snarky comments about him. He finds this carefree woman interesting and can't help being attracted to her.

I knew their story will be more interesting. They're undeniably attracted with each other, the constant push-pull and banters heightened their chemistry which made their romance steamier. At some point these two frustrated me and despite of it, I love their character developments. It's great they worked on their personal and trust issues. It's nice to see Bailey loosen up to Vaughn and gave him a chance. He's a lovely and devoted man.

Overall, I enjoyed it so much and I'm looking forward to read the upcoming books in this series. Samantha Young delivers another romantic and passionate story. Crossing my fingers the next one will be Jack and Emery's story.

Final rating: 4.5 / 5 stars

One of my most anticipated books for 2017 is finally here! Every Little Thing is Vaughn and Bailey’s story, a story that had to be told because those two were explosive in The One Real Thing. Their chemistry was real and I knew that with every encounter there had to be more. Thankfully, Samantha knows her readers and she gave us exactly what we wanted. Every Little Thing exceeded my expectations.

“We were two people who were attracted to each other and didn’t want to be…”

There really are so many things to love about Vaughn and Bailey’s story, but what I loved the most, was Vaughn. He tortured himself with what he felt for years and I absolutely fell head over heels in love with him once I started to see the true him. The voice that he was given fit him perfectly and the way he quietly looked after Bailey made my heart swell with pride. Bailey, a strong, successful, and beautiful woman was the perfect fit for Vaughn, and as much as she tried to deny the attraction, we knew that wasn’t going to last. With the her recent betrayal, the horrible Devlins, and her God awful sister, Bailey needed happiness in her life. However, Ms. Young sure does make us wait… there is angst, there is sexual tension, yet when Vaughn and Bailey finally come together… holy mother of hotness!

“The man I thought I might have been waiting for my whole life. All this time he’d been standing right in front of me, wearing a suit and a sexy-ass smile.”

Every Little Thing has everything that you can possibly hope for in a Contemporary Romance. It is smartly written, sexy, all-consuming, and truly breathtaking. It never feels like a follow up book, it can be read as a true standalone. Samantha Young gives us one phenomenal romance. This is one of the best enemies to lovers stories that I have read in very long time. Bottom line… I absolutely LOVED it!!!

As a reader who was a bit underwhelmed with this book's predecessor, I was a little nervous going in to Every Little Thing. But right out of the gate I could feel that this book would be different. This story has an edgy nature that the first book was missing, a layer of uncertainty and conflict that I just loved. The push and pull in this book kept me completely hooked. This story is angsty, full of delicious attraction between reluctant characters who can never seem to get on the same page, who don't allow themselves to trust each other despite the chemistry between them. They say the wrong things, shield their hearts and hurt each other relentlessly... And that's exactly the type of storyline I was in the mood for. This is a wholly unique story about two stubborn business owners whose mounting sexual tension and years of verbal sparring finally come to a head to make for a sweet and salty romance that I just loved.

Every Little Thing had me craving summer days, arcade games on the boardwalk and sand between my toes. This story is full of steam and sunshine and it's as heartwarming as it is difficult. I love an enemies to lovers romance and I adore Samantha Young's writing and storytelling. The culmination of both set against the backdrop of the boardwalk and the beach was the perfect package. I just adored it. Bursting with friendship, sensuality, family history and bitter rivalry, Every Little Thing not only had me consumed, it has me overflowing with excitement for what might be in store for every character in this ensemble cast. And I'll admit, it also makes me want to go back to the beginning, to The One Real Thing, and re-read it to see what I may have overlooked. I just fell in love with Samantha Young's writing all over again here in Vaughn and Bailey's story and I can't wait to get back to the boardwalk with this captivating group.

I knew – I just knew that Vaughn and Bailey were going to be something special. I remember reading The One Real Thing and being struck by how they were sparking all over the place, stealing scenes like crazy. And I wasn’t disappointed – the second installment in the Hart’s Boardwalk series is even better than the first and Vaughn and Bailey were just as fantastic as I expected they would be.

Every Little Thing is an enemies to lovers romance with a long, slow build. There’s a heap of sharp and pointed banter that acts as foreplay leading to some explosive sexy heat and then, eventually, settling into some of the most breathtaking beautiful swoony dialogue I’ve read in a long time. Seriously – there were moments where I wanted to land some well-placed punches on Vaughn, but in the end he completely stole my heart.

I love this little town. I love all the secondary characters (and there are many) and the friendships and affection they all seem to have for each other. I’m so intrigued by where this series will go from here (and Lord almighty but I need to figure out what’s going on with Jack Devlin. And if there’s really a spark with the shy but intriguing Emery). This series has completely sucked me in and I am so greedy for more!

If you like your alphas rich, cocky, and hiding the swooniest soft underbelly imagineable, Vaughn Tremaine is your guy. If you like your heroines loud, filterless, adorable and kind-hearted, Bailey Hartwell will not disappoint. And if you like your romances fiery, smart, and full of banter – you’re going to need to give Every Little Thing a read.

I thought Cooper was swoon worthy with Jessica, but here comes Vaughn and Bailey and they will sweep you off your feet. You could so feel their tension before, but now, it is just off the charts. Between the scorching moments to their banter, you really get emotionally invested in them. The one thing I really loved is Bailey’s spunk. She does not hold back in any aspect but when it comes to being in a relationship with Vaughn, she has a few bumps in the road! Vaughn’s fierce protectiveness makes you just fall in love with him! I really love the story and plot that flows through these books and the twists that are thrown in there. I have to say though.. I am begging you Samantha Young…. I need a book with Emery! I really want to know her story!
