This book confused me if I'm honest, I don't know why we had to have so many different points of view. The story felt like a series of family dramas(sort of like watching a soap) but without the really high points that come before the rubbish. Oddly the most unbelievable bit for me was the fact that two teachers couldn't afford to buy a house in the late 70s/ early 80s when at that point most factory workers could.

you find yourself relating to every character in this story and rooting for them as well! Very bittersweet novel that pulls you in and won't let you go.
