What a wonderful, surprising, heartbreaking story! I was shocked by Lincoln's backstory! I knew his character from other books in the series, but this twist made his and Daisy's story so very engrossing and so very meaningful. Two damaged people come together as friends and start their healing process ------ a process that isn't smooth, isn't easy, isn't without further heartache but is oh so necessary and oh so beautiful to watch unfold.
Two words... Lincoln Mathis. The man. The myth. The Legend. The one we all fell in love with from the moment we first meet him. Whether you started from the beginning or if Someone Like You was your first book, I'm pretty sure Lincoln stole your breath away just from a glance. What's his story? Was he left brokenhearted? Will his lost love come back to reclaim his heart? If you were like me, then you probably came up with a dozen or so possible romances for him. After devouring Someone Like You, I realized pretty quickly that my theories could never live up to the brilliance that is Lauren Layne. I have to hand it to Lauren. In the span of one book she made me sob like a baby and giggle like a schoolgirl. I reached for the tissues just as much as I fanned myself when things got spicy. I friggin' loved this book. I think readers built up this anticipation for Lincoln's story and Lauren delivered flawlessly. I loved him and Daisy, how she healed his heart. I loved how they had each other's backs when it was needed. It was a perfect romance from cover to cover. And now that we finally have Lincoln's book, I can't wait get a little glimpse into his relationship with Daisy in the next book in the Oxford series.
Amazing.... Simply amazing. I cannot get enough of this author. With every book she writes, I become more invested with this group of character.
5 Stars!!

I absolutely loved this book! I've been waiting for Lincoln's story for so long, so glad it's finally here and let me just say....WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!
I really liked how the book is divided into 3 sections almost dividing each part of Lincoln's life. Daisy is perfect for him and I loved being able to read along with these two through every part!
I enjoyed this so much, I went back to the beginning of these 2 series and reread each book! I forgot how much I loved these characters!!
Put this and the rest of the stiletto and oxford books on your to be read list! They will not disappoint!
Loved this series much more than the Wedding Bell series, Eachcharacter of Sex and Stiletto series is cleverly original. I really liked this character and the romance relationship is very modern and real. I hope this author gets a film deal, since this is true chick lit!!!
A sizzling hot, breathtaking romance that I couldn't resist! Someone Like you stole my heart and had my arousal shooting through the roof. A book like this doesn't come around often and from cover to cover this book had sucked me in and I freaking ADORED it! This book is an absolute MUST read and one I HIGHLY recommend for a good, scorching, irresistible read.
This was one of those "how could ANYONE live that way?" I felt so badly for both the characters and their situations. I loved that they let themselves love each other, even though it took time to get there.
I think this was one of the most unique romance story lines I've ever come across. The hidden fiancee, the tragic accident, the heartbreak! Loved it!
And I loved seeing other characters from earlier books. Seeing them happy and growing their lives together makes the HEA all the better :)
Oh Lincoln!
I've waited a long time to hear what's behind that sexy smile of yours, and who knew you were hiding a whole ton of secrets!
Lauren Layne's latest in the Oxford series is one of those "She saved the best for last of 2016" books. Lincoln has been the sexy side character - looks good, appears to have a fabulous life, fab clothes, and a hot model on his arm at all times. What's behind that sexy facade is a whole ton of secrets that made my poor heart ache for him.
His secrets are revealed via the a woman that is hiding her own trauma. Daisy, Emma's twin sister (as in, Emma and Cassidy from Stiletto #4) and they meet at Emma and Cassidy's wedding. Lincoln has been warned to stay away, but the two of them recognize that behind the bright smiles, each of them is holding on to something they need to deal with. Since she's "off limits" and only in town for a few days, he lets his guard down with her and shares his past. In doing so, they both find a future together.
The gang makes appearances and there's the usual sharp dialogue and heart that Layne puts into all her books. As long as she keeps churning out these novels, I'm going to keep reading them! Love it!.
Someone Like You is the third book in the Oxford series by Lauren Layne. Lincoln and Emma had a lot to work through. Together they helped fight each other's demons, but they also had some fighting to do on their own. I loved learning about Lincoln, and this whole side to him no one knows about. Well. I love aspects of it. His actual story is heartbreaking. What I mean is, I love who Lincoln really is. This wasn't an easy romance for them, but you sure could feel their chemistry. This author always brings it when it comes to her characters and chemistry. She knows how to realistically bring them to life. Somehow I missed the first two books in this series, so I'm anxious to go back and catch up!
