Isla and Colby are best friends and have been most of their lives. And Isla has been in love with Colby for only slightly less time than that. Colby, however, can’t seem to make up his mind, alternatively pulling her in or pushing her on his brother Landon.
Isla has been hanging out with the brothers forever, as well as with their friends. She has a lot of family demons that she has taken on her own shoulders, but have a close, loving bond with her grandmother. As the time comes closer for Isla to leave for nursing school, she wants to get things sorted with Colby.
Colby seems to care about Isla as more than a friend, but continues to push her towards Landon, though he doesn’t seem happy about it. Isla knows he’s a good man, but is so confused by his hot and cold behavior that she wonders if their friendship will ever be the same.
Landon has also always been Isla’s friend, and has recently developed more than friendly feelings for her. He flirts and seeks out spending time with her, confusing Isla even more. Could she have a relationship with Landon, but never realized it because her interest in Colby was in the way?
I have no real opinions about love triangles, they can be well-written or forced, depending on the story and author. In this case, I think the story was well-written with Isla truly caring about both guys, but truly only loving one of them. The brothers don’t compete, or damage their relationship with each other, Colby just doesn’t want to hurt his brother and Landon had no idea of Isla’s feelings.
The story is written from Isla’s first person POV (except the epilogue, which is Colby’s), but through her own observations and dialog with others, we do get a good grasp on Colby’s and Landon’s motivations throughout.
All in all, I enjoyed the story and looked for the next book in the series, but was unable to find it. I hope it’s still coming and was just delayed, but it has been several years.

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.
It's a cute story with nice characters. I loved that the guys in this were pretty good guys, who didn't feel the need to hook up with random girls all the time. I also loved that there wasn't the stereotypical easy girl; all the girls in this book were smart and mature. Isla and Colby have been best friends for years, she's been in love with him forever but hasn't taken the leap to tell him. They finally get together when hanging out during a storm, but Isla overthinks everything and starts thinking she knows how things will be without even talking to Colby. That's Isla's and Colby's problem, they don't talk about how they are actually feeling. This whole book is about them both thinking they know what the other is thinking, which of course isn't correct. They do have a really sweet connection and some passion between them; they just need to grow up a bit more. They are fairly young yet; early 20's, so it's to be expected that they need to mature more. I was hoping Colby would give a little more fight in the story. Still liked him though, and his brother was a great character too. There's not a lot of excitement in the story, but I was entertained the whole time, so I went with a 4 rating. Plus, I'm interested in continuing the series because I liked all the side characters.
Story didn't appeal to me. The characters didn't gel for me. I tried to keep reading but it just did not float my boat.
Isla is a relatable and likable character. She isn't whiny and keeps the conversation casual just to ease down the awkwardness. All the important persons in her life, she loves them dearly even if the one that captured her heart hurts her. She always look on the goodness and remained optimistic. A very enjoyable book!😊
I have not had a chance to read this book, Once I have gotten a chance to read it I will edit this review to reflect my thoughts and feeling on the book.

3.5-4 Stars. This book falls under the category of NA and is true to this genre. The writing itself was good and flowed well in my opinion. Isla is the main female character and we learn about her background and how her feelings developed for Colby who's been a good friend for years. Isla was a nice person but she seemed to question herself often( in my opinion). This happens sometimes in this age group so it was expected and the "friends to more" relationship has it's ups/downs throughout this book.
Colby, the main male character was a nice guy too and it's easy to see why Isla has feelings for him. There wasn't alot of angst which made it an easier read but I did feel the story went back and forth a bit with similar questions from both main characters. The book involves other characters such as Colby's brother which added to the storyline. I did enjoy the writing until the end and may look at other books by this author.
This is a sweet friend to lover’s story. This story takes place in a fishing town called Port Lucia. Colby and Isla have been friends for years. But what Colby doesn’t know is that Isla has had a crush on him since they were young. But he just sees her as a “kid sister” or at least that is what he tells himself. But after a one night, things start to get a little more serious. You can feel the sexual tension between them. While overall it was well written, light enjoyable read, it was a little frustrating with the push and pull between Colby and Isla. However the characters were likeable.
4.25 Stars!!

I've been looking forward to Isla and Colby's story since reading Just A Little Kiss. I loved it. Isla and Colby have been best friends since they were little. Things get a little complicated after one night turns steamy. I liked the added element of the love triangle. It helped both Isla and Colby realize their feelings. Overall, great read. I would love to read a follow up book on Landon. He deserves he's HEA too! Thanks again for the ARC!
I've become a fan of Pizzitola's books over the first couple in this series. I have the expectation with New Adult Romance that there will be a fair amount of misunderstandings and whining because that is realistic and typical for anyone in their early 20's. I had a harder time getting past that in this book than in previous books and it sometimes kept me from staying in the story. Part of that is because the story was just thin in this book. The characters were still interesting and the chemistry between Colby and Isla is undeniable, but that is pretty much the story with a few misunderstandings mixed in. I still enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more by Pizzitola, but this didn't stand-up to her earlier books.
I’ve been looking forward to reading Addicted to You by Renita Pizzitola since the characters in this novel were first introduced in her Crush series. I wasn’t disappointed.
I felt like I connected with Isla through her grandmother. I love how nurturing she is and the fact that she speaks Spanish is another connection to me. It got me invested into the story more with that bit of diversity sprinkled into the novel.
The way the novel progresses with Isla and the Callahan brothers was a little maddening. Isla was clueless on both brother’s feelings for her but I still liked where the story went. I think Pizzitola did an amazing job of creating these interesting characters that came alive. I want to keep reading more about them and will continue to look forward to any new novels from Pizzitola.
Friends to lovers...
Isla and Colby has been friends since they were kids. They know each other so well, all they had to do was look at their eyes.
One night during a storm, Isla and Colby "hooked" up. Isla was in love with Colby for so long and all she wanted was a night with him. Now her wish came true, she doesn't know what is next for both of them. She thought she could forget one night but consequences of one night was lasting more than a night for Isla.
Not only their friendship was now in question, they both are not even talking about the night. Isla didn't want to lose a best friend so she was trying her best to play cool.
Both were crazy for each other but Colby was never reveals his feeling and pushes his brother Landon toward Isla and one of the lead band member approaches her at the same time. Isla is more confused than ever. She can't decide if she can move on from Colby.
Isla's only friend is away and she needed another friend to talk to. Her only go to person was Colby but now she doesn't know what to do. She befriends Taylor and she gives different perspective which Isla needed.
Finally, Isla decided to move on but things are not going the way she wants to and she will be moving away.??
Will she find her happiness..
I did like reading about Isla and Colby but it seems Isla is thinking way too much all the time (too much head voice) It was a bit redundant and boring. It was more like high school drama than 20 somethings will go through. Isla had some family issues but that wasn't really developed and her relationship with her estranged family was a bit odd to the story.
Nonetheless I did enjoy reading this one.
This book was okay and I did enjoy reading it. I like the characters just fine and could see the connection between Isla and Colby. They had good chemistry and I liked them together but the whole brother storyline is what really threw me off. It didn't seem as though Landon was utterly taken with Isla but rather just thought she was a great girl with girlfriend potential, so when Colby kept trying to step aside for him it felt like unnecessary conflict. There just seemed to be a lot of push and pull for no reason other than Colby being too nice of a guy.

Isla has been in love with her best friend Colby for years, but he has never seen her as anything other than a friend. But one night during a storm , the two end up having a passionate night that can't be taken back. Isla is afraid that this might destroy their friendship, especially when Colby starts to push her at other guys, namely his brother Landon.
This was a cute fast read, perfect for anyone who wants an easy romance read. This is the second book I have read from this author and she does a good job of creating fun books with a solid relationship that can be read in one sitting. This was not my favorite book ever, but it was engaging enough for me to pick up and spend a snowy day indoors reading.
I like Isla, she was fiesty, knew her own mind, was approachable and could easily be one of the guys. I would have loved to have part of the story narrated by Colby so I could see inside his mind, but that would have probably been even more frustrating to me than I found this story. My biggest problem with the book was that miscommunication was used as a plot device. If the characters had just talked about the 2 big secrets that they kept from each other all the angst could have been avoided. I hate angst that is unneeded, and boy was it unneeded here. I was super frustrated by Isla and Colby, but alas I am just a big complainer (or so I have been told). I would have liked the story better if she had actually been torn between 2 boys (and yes I hate love triangles, but they are better than lack of communication), or if the brother drama that was hinted at was the actual plot.
Yea for the happily ever after, I do like a romance that has an ending that I am perfectly content with. There were other characters introduced here (like Landon and Gabe) and I would gladly read another book about each of them so there is so much potential for more here. Overall this was a cute read I enjoyed and I look forward for more from this author.
