Ghoul Scouts is a great graphic novel for YA and JUV readers. It has a little bit of Lost Boys and a lot of Monster Squad entwined throughout. Ghoul Scouts is a great way to spend an hour or so. Overall, it is a top-shelf graphic novel.
Well, Ghoul Scouts was good, but forgettable. I read it less than a week ago and I remember very little about it. I know that I enjoyed the art, and that it was super action-packed. Therefore, I think kids will enjoy it more than I did - especially if they like a little bit of paranormal as well. It's a good choice for children who are looking for something "scary," especially if they are reluctant readers.
A group of scouts who are camping encounter zombies and join up with another scout troop to fight against the undead in this fun graphic novel middle graders are sure to love.
Promising series for younger readers about Boy and Girl Scouts who team up to stop a bunch of zombies. Decent art and story.
These Scouts are Ghoul. (4 stars)
Camping trip. Check. Scouts. Check. Zombies. Double check!
I was hesitant on this one as the art didn't really appeal to me but I couldn't resist the themes and I'm so glad I gave it a shot. It's a great starter horror comic for the late grade school and middle school set. Spooky but not too scary. Funny but not dumb.
If you enjoy Lumberjanes, Gotham Academy, or The Last Kids on Earth this is worth picking up!
