Jamie was the daughter of the town drunk, she’s been labeled no good no matter what she does people don’t seem to accept anything else. Jamie has been saving money to get a lawyer to get her daughter Mandy back. Jamie meets Cal Cameron who has some secrets of his own. But Jamie won’t let anything get in her way to get her daughter Mandy back. It has been two years since the custody battle. Jamie is a backhoe operator at a construction company that was cutting a new interstate highway. Cal had been a rodeo champion but got hurt and that ended his career in the rodeo. Now Cal works on his sister’s farm. Cal would do anything to help Jamie get Mandy back. Jamie only got to see Mandy for half a day on Saturday every other week.. . Jamie is young and has no one to advise her. Then the judge gave Mandy to Ray who immediately gave Mandy to his parents. Jamie went out with a couple of her coworkers for a couple beers at Canyon Rim. Orrin came up to Jamie at the bar and enjoyed the way he was scaring her as he hung on to her arm.
I liked this story. I felt so bad that Jamie lost her daughter Mandy but loved her determination to get her back. Also loved the fact that Cal would do anything to help her get Mandy back. It broke my heart even more that she only got to see Mandy half a day every other week. I like the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.
