This was my first time reading a book by Erin Nicholas and I enjoyed her writing and the unique idea of storm chasers. She managed to make the reader understand the after effects of a natural disaster on a community and really gets the reader thinking of crisis management. I loved the dominant side of Max's character as well as his sweet, romantic and protective side, however I hated the fact that he was trying to change Bree to fit his idea of the correct girlfriend and he was always so judgemental towards Bree and her actions. Bree's character was strong and independent, but she could never seem to commit and always seemed so confused which was annoying. I loved the chemistry between Bree and Max because it was sizzling hot and the way their friendship flowered into love was beautiful. I did feel that the chapters were too long and that the characters were so confused about their feelings that they kept on going back and forward which became very boring and irritating. This was a good book and I look foward to the rest of the series.

Plot

Max Grady, a storm chaser, is back to his home town Chance for his high school reunion, when he can feel that a tornado is about to hit his beloved town. He decides to chase after the storm and he asks his best friend and adrenaline junkie Bree McDermott to join him. Max has always been secretly in love with Bree and when they are stuck in the tornado and end up kissing a whole bunch of emotions come to the surface.

Bree is always looking for excitement and her next adrenaline rush and when their kiss fufills her with that rush, she decides that she wants more. As Max and Bree work together to clean up the aftermath of the tornado, their attraction begins to hard to ignore. Will Bree and Max be able to get over their insecurities in order to find love?

This is the second book in the Taking Chances series but can be read as stand alone. This series takes place in the town of Chance, Nebraska, which unfortunately seems to be a magnet for tornadoes.

Tangled Up is the story of Bree and Max who have been friends since childhood. It takes place during the same time frame as the first book, Twisted Up, but surprisingly had very little overlap in the story so you didn't feel like you were just rehashing the first book.

I enjoyed the story and reading about how Bree and Max and were able to switch their relationship from being best friends to lovers. They had lots of challenges along the way. They were both afraid of taking the leap from friends to lovers and what would happen if things didn't work out.

My only complaint is I wish there was a little more at the end, but perhaps since this is part of a series, we'll get to learn a little more about their future in the next book.

I can't wait for the third book in the series. I'm sure Kit and Dillon's story will be an interesting one!

This is the first book I have read by this author. I would love to read the rest of the series. This book can be read as a stand alone book. There are other characters that may make you want to read their stories in the series. The author does an extremely good job of weaving those characters into the story.

Max and Bree have been friends forever.. Except for the one time she kissed him at a ski resort years ago...He was ready for more and she wasnt. He has been her adventure buddy ever sense. Could this time around lead to something more.....

The heart of this book is in Tornado Country... Max is a storm chaser and Bree goes along for the ride. Max comes back to Chance, NE just to spend time with Bree doing what ever she wants. She is an adrenaline junky. When a tornado strikes the town they join forces to help with recovery.
Bree proves her worth and that she can find adventure in small things.

Tangled Up by Erin Nicholas is red hot. Her characters are bold, sexy, and irresistible. Both Bree and Max are the kind of people that others can trust in...and respect. Both care about their town, Chance. A tornado comes destroying it. Leaving both our heroes to clean it up...

There is a lot of heat. Max tries his best to ignore the way Bree makes him feel. Best friends for twenty-five years. Now, he's super aware of everything Bree does. He's doing his best to not take her on the spot. Chasing after the crazy weather leaves them both in danger. Not just physically but emotionally as well...both Bree and Max will have trouble storming it now. Max keeps Bree from being injured. She helps him...and then all bets are off. They make one choice they may finally affect the friendship they have had. It where it will take them is the mystery. Tangled Up is indeed perfect for this book. Both characters get tangled up in more than one way. Erin Nicholas has created the perfect romance. A contemporary that brings readers deep into their lives. I felt like I never wanted to leave. The novel was written in a highly engaging way. Entertaining and intriguing. The intimacy and tension of the relationship inside was powerful. Overall, Tangled Up is a definite must read for all. I loved it.
