The fourth installment in the Midnight contemporary romantic thriller series promises to captivate readers with its enigmatic mysteries and spine-tingling romance. The seamless integration of Norse mythology, the intimate connection between the protagonists, the meticulous storytelling, glimpses into the killer's psyche, and an unexpected conclusion all contribute to an elevated level of enjoyment.

I wish i had known this was the fourth in a series but that’s was my fault so when I read the others I will reread this again. But that being said it didn’t detract too much from my enjoyment as Melinda’s books are always fab reads. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my review.

This was one of my favorite books by Melinda Leigh. An excellent murder mystery based on the Viking culture. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. Highly recommend!

Melinda Leigh really writes an enjoyable romantic suspense and I love a good romantic suspense! For readers who enjoy Karen Robards, Linda Howard, and Catherine Coulter, Melinda Leigh compares really well.

I've read a few books by this author but just haven't been able to connect or fall in love with her work.
They all sound interesting in the synopsis but the execution and writing style is just not for me.

I wasn't too sure whether this could be read as a stand alone novel or whether it would be best to read the previous books in the series. I think I should have read the other books first! Anyway, it was good and enjoyable despite a slow start and the pace soon picked up. It is the first time that i have read any novels by this author and i do hope to read more. Especially the earlier books in this series.

I have posted this review on Goodreads and Amazon.

My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers and this is my honest review.

Midnight Obsession is the 4th book in a series by Melinda Leigh. Not having read the first three I had some catching up trying to figure out and understand some parts.
This is a Good murder mystery with a little too much "perfect “unbelievable romance for me. No one is that perfect!
The book went a little too slow for me in many parts. But as I kept reading it did get much better.
Lousia is a museum curator where she receives a package for her father. Upon taking the box to him they discover it is a clue . A serial killer who is setting up scenes to match scenarios
in her fathers history books he wrote about the Vikings. The killer is extremely violent. The serial killer becomes obsessed with Louisa.
Louisa is still recovering from a former kidnapping and now is in the middle of the the brutal killings, gang fighting, and kidnappings and more ! Louisa & Conner her boyfriend become targets as well.
The plot continues to thicken more questions and problems arise and the ending will leave you surprised.
Midnight Obsession was sent to me by the publisher and Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

When a mysterious package lands on Louisa Hancock’s doorstep, the Philadelphia museum curator can hardly anticipate the nightmare that’s about to envelop her. The package is addressed to her father—an expert in Viking culture—and inside is a ninth-century sword, a chilling thank-you note, and photos of two dead bodies in a tableau evoking a Nordic funeral. The gruesome images match a recent crime scene. But before the police can investigate the killer’s connection to Louisa’s father, Ward Hancock vanishes.

Sports bar owner Conor Sullivan wants nothing more than to spend his life with Louisa. Devoted and protective, he refuses to leave her side after her father’s disappearance. When a troubled young boxer he’s been coaching is suspected of the murders, Conor is pulled in even deeper. Desperate, Louisa and Conor take it upon themselves to find her father, but soon another ritualistic slaying makes it clear there’s a Viking-obsessed serial killer on the loose. And he has a new target: Louisa.

This book is a roller coaster of emotions ranging from love to terror. Louisa is finally starting to relax and enjoy her life with her father and Conor. That is until a serial killer becomes obsessed with Louisa and kidnaps her father. Now it's a race against time to try to figure out just who he is and where her father is being kept.

I found my way into this series late but it didn't much to fall in love with both Louisa and Conor. They are both really good people who are just trying to make a life for themselves despite obstacles thrown in their paths. They also both will go out of their ways to help out others.

The action is fast, furious and kept me glued to the page until the final twist that I didn't see coming. . I would recommend this book to any of my readers who enjoy a good romantic suspense with surprising twists.

*** I received this book at no charge from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed within are my own.

Another great Melinda Leigh Book, I like to read her books in the correct order, so had to read books 1 & 2 in the series before I read this. Great story and very likeable characters. Well paced and well written

I've read a few novels by this author Melinda Leigh and I have never been disappointed. If you like Romantic Suspense like I do I suggest you pick this up. Although this wasn't a favorite of mine by this author it was written well and was engaging even though I wasn't interested in some of the storyline.

I found this book interesting even though it was a typical thriller

This was a great sequel. I enjoyed the first book, continued on with minimal disruption. The relationship between the barkeep and the scholar is incredible. Louise and Colin are a well matched pair and the ending was unexpected and action packed, Keep them coming.

Okay, so.. I was a bit behind on "reading" so I bought the audiobook and I am not sure I got much done since I started this one. Talk about a good book. I said the last book in this series was my favorite, and it was.. until now. Midnight Obsession blew my socks off. Seriously. I laughed, I may have shed a tear or ten, and DUDE, I never figured out who was the "bad guy" was.. LOL

I was on the edge of my seat. I am still in shock believe it or not. As with the other books Melinda brings the characters to life, and the narrator was fantastic.

Conner and Louisa have had a rough go of things in the last few months, and this book, Midnight Obsession, only adds to the craziness in their lives. Connor, Louisa and her father, Ward are all going to be taxed to the end of sanity. With a surprise gift (one that was dropped off to Louisa to bring to her father) the chaos reigns down on them. The gift is not only one that will make your stomach drop, it makes you take a step back and say, "what the bloody hell is that all about". Possibly a few other things.

A Viking short sword is not only used to murder someone but sent as a gift to Ward. Before they can figure out why its been sent to him.. he goes missing. The race is on to find a killer, find her father and keep them all alive in the mean time. Whoever has her father is fileting people and leaving them to be found. A gang is trying to start an all out war on the streets and Louis is trying to keep it together.

Its one thing after another and seriously, a complete page turner. I could NOT put this one down. I had to keep going. I had to KNOW who did it... and now that I know... well.. I want more. LOL These books are like my drug of choice. I can't wait to see what Melinda comes up with next!

I hadn't read the earlier books in this series but that wasn't a problem - this is well written and entertaining romantic suspense. Louisa and Connor are a good pair. Loved the Viking theme. This was just twisty and complex enough to keep me guessing. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC- thumbs up!
