I enjoyed this story. It was well written and the story flowed nicely. There were laughs, tears, romance, and a little breath holding. The characters that returned were still a hoot, as were most of the new ones (exception was the egg donor!). Burning Man sounds like an interesting get away. I will patiently await the next installment of the Rose family, which I think you get a glimpse of in the end of this story.
Warning do not start reading this book late at night. Unless you want to be up all night, engrossed in this book. I haven't read the first book in this series, I must rectify this. I adored the romance between Rowdy and Justus. They first met at burning man, and have continued to meet at the festival every year. Justus is keeping a big secret from Rowdy, they have a son together. This year Justus decides to give the festival a miss. Instead she is heading to Texas to start a landscape gardening job. What she doesnt know is that the job is for her lovers family. Rowdy comes back from burning man, dejected that she want there. Only to find her at his place, then he gets the shock of his life to learn they have a son together. I loved the whole cast of characters, they were so welcoming to Justus and Hugh, even before they found out they were family. I'm not really a dog person , yet I found Elvis to be so funny. I hope I have intrigued you to want to pick up a copy.
Katie Graykowski provides us with another fun and flirty read that you can only fall in love with. This is a book that will have you smiling, laughing and feeling great as you get lost in the Rose Ranch and the relationship of Justus and Rowdy.
The banter back and forth is witty and sharp and fits right in with the character as portrayed by Katie Graykowski. Justus is a loving mother who has been having a one week relationship, every year for twelve years with a man who is still basically a stranger. He is however the man of her dreams and when she is faced with him in her day to day lives they have to find out if they can manage this drastic change in their relationship or if it is the end of them.
Rowdy is all man and full of passion and power. He has kept his secrets from his family and Justus is a big part of that secret now confronted with it in his daily life e has to figure out what he wants.
This book along with the first one which I have also read are great romance reads that have developed characters that you get attached to them and their outcomes but still manages to remain a light and entertaining romance. The banter is witty and well timed and written. It will have you laughing and feeling upbeat once you’ve finished. All in all this is a great read to get lost in for a few hours and I would highly recommend that you check out this and the others in the series.
This book was excellent. When you read this book you will want to sure that you leave yourself enough time to read it in one sitting, nothing else will matter, food, showers, sleep, work. You have been warned.
Justus and Rowdy meet once a year for a week, This has been happening for the last 10 years or so. In all this time they have never exchanged their real names, nor what their lives are like outside of that week.
