Her Wicked Highlander continues the Highland Knight saga in a novella form. Aila MacKerrick's family has been in possession of the King Richard Dagger for hundreds of years. To her it is nothing more than protection against losing her family farm. Unfortunately, to William Sutherland it is a powerful political tool, one in his eyes, that will unite Scotland. He will stop at nothing to possess it. Maxwell White was a mercenary after Waterloo before he joined the Knights. His assignment is to protect Aila and make sure the dagger does not fall into Sutherland's hands. Although he admires her spirit, Max finds protecting Aila is no easy chore. Early on she defies him every chance she gets, however they soon develop a mutual attraction to each other. When Sutherland catches up with them, the action is taken to a whole new level. I love a book that has a storyline full of character danger, villains, and intrigue. It is a great addition to the Highland Knight series. My only complaint is that it is a novella and so ends too soon. I do hope there are more books in this series, I am not ready to say goodbye to the Knights.

Maxwell White has been assigned to take the Ailia MacKerrick lass to a safe location. He abducts her from her bed in the middle of the night and takes her to an abandoned castle in the middle of the Highland forest. Ailia possess the legendary dagger that has belonged in her family for generations and Max’s job is to protect her from the ambitious warlord out get his hands on the dagger at any cost. Max has his hands full with Ailia; she’s spirited, feisty with a fiery passion.
I received an ARC copy from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I know it's a novella but seriously? I didn't care for Max, he was inconsiderate and rude most of the time. Arguably, she tried to make it seem he didn't have conversational skills but then he goes does something ridiculous. I just couldn't do it, with this one.
