72 Hours is much different than the other books we have read from Bella Jewel! This one was much more suspenseful, dramatic, but still just as fast-paced as her writing normally is.
This book was on the shorter side, so at times it felt a little rushed and maybe like the plot didn't have time to play completely out. But, if you are looking for a good suspenseful book, you will enjoy this one.
72 Hours was an amazing book!! If you love suspense and action then this book is definitely for you. You also have a second chance at love story mixed in I absolutely loved this book. It kept me on my toes the whole time, I couldn't put it down. I just had to know what was going to happen and if Noah and Lara were going to survive. I highly recommend this one, I was up to the early hours finishing this one.
This book gets ALL the christ on a cracker stars. It was fabulously written. Amazingly paced. Had twists and turns. Had a little bit of romance. Had two strong and likable main characters. Had a twisted as fuck baddie. I COULD NOT put this thing down! In fact, I read it from cover to cover all in one go. AND the best news...there is going to be another book with a whole different twisted fuck coming out sometime this year. You can sign me up RIGHT NOW. Two HUGE thumbs, fingers, toes, legs...up from yours truly.
I haven't read hardly any books in this genre and it's also a new direction step for this author. Now I'm no expert in this genre but she totally nailed it!
That prologue! What a bloody great start!
Lara and Noah, ex's, thrown together for a mad mans game. 72 hours is all they have to survive. And facing death, all those truths come out and shatter you a bit more. The what if's. Could they just make you want to fight for your life?
What a page turner! The suspense was killing me! I had to know how this ended, hell not how it ended, just what happened next!!! A great book and I look forward to reading more like this from this author.
I enjoy many of Bella Jewel"s books, so when I saw she started a new romantic suspense series, I had to read it. This one is different then her others. This story had danger, mystery, and two people who were fighting stay alive so that they could get their HEA. This couple was together, only for a misunderstanding to break them apart, and stubbornness and insecurity to keep them apart. A killer brings them into his sick game. They have to work together in order to stay alive. Both come out changed, but they survive and get their happy ending. This book kept my attention and kept me reading so that I could see how it all resolved. There were a few hot sex scenes in this book. There was not a lot of romance to this story. Overall, this was just an okay read for me.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Lara was the type that had a spitfire personality and wouldn’t back down from any challenge, that is until the day it cost her the life of someone she loved dearly. Lara standing up to some young punks cost her grandmother her life which put Lara into a depression. All the while Noah was by Lara’s side and Lara thought their love would last forever but one day it all came to an end when Lara walked in on Noah in the arms of another woman.
As soon as Lara found Noah with someone else she shut down the relationship and left Noah. Now a few months later Noah wants the chance to explain and doesn’t want to give up on their love and life they had together. Unfortunately for Lara and Noah they have had an audience during their time together, a stalker with an elaborate plan set in place for the pair. Now begins a twisted hunt when Lara and Noah are kidnapped and dropped in the middle of nowhere and given seventy two hours to save themselves.
72 Hours by Bella Jewel quickly became one of those books that I just could not put down. A romantic suspense story that immediately had my attention as I got to know Lara and Noah’s story and personalities but just as I got settled into wanting to know their relationship the story takes a huge turn when they are dropped into a psychopath’s game of terror.
Easily this story turns into a horrific page turning nightmare that had me on the edge of my seat. It’s one of those books that while reading I really began to long for this one to be made into a movie someday and watch the intense action unfold on a big screen. Definitely a nail biting intensity involved that I think should have readers hooked until the very end. Would definitely recommend checking this one out for the suspense fans.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
Edge of your seat excitement. I was hooked from page 1. A good solid plot.!
He stalked them mercilessly and they didn’t even know it. He had a plan, a game, a twisted hunt and his prey was ripe for the picking. The time is now, so let the games begin! Bella Jewel’s 72 HOURS is a dark and edgy game of cat and mouse set in the backwoods of Florida and you will feel every step of the chase as we follow two people on a run for their very lives, never knowing when the rules could change.
Noah and Lara were lovers, he the steady, strong one and she the fireball of snark, attitude with an inner fierceness that was like an electrical storm zapping at anything in its way. Together they were perfect until Lara’s mouth cost her the life of the only person who believed in her and her proud stance deflated into a deep depression and she found Noah in the arms of another woman.
Now they are nothing, there is tension and their stalker is counting on that tension to shred their ability to work as a team in an attempt to survive. But will Lara and Noah finally talk about their past now that their future only has 72 short hours to it? Will Lara accept the strength and determination that Noah tries to convey? Will her battered ego and her damaged soul have the strength or the will to survive?
Follow their terror-packed run as their stalker baits them, taunts them and comes at them in the maze he has created, just for the fun of the chase.
In turn nail biting, frustrating, sad and heart-melting, follow Lara and Noah as they face injuries and mental abuse at the hands of pure evil. Were they meant to die this way or were they meant to find strength in each other to live just one more hour? Great reading for those who like that edge-of-your-seat reading that never lets up! from start to finish nothing but tension, page after page.

~4~ Suspenseful stars from me!!
I really enjoyed reading this suspenseful thriller, this story is going to "force" you to hold your breaths from the twists, the agony, and the suspense.
Two people will be forced into an environment with a sick villain who is going to test their sanity, play with their emotions and we can see how two ordinary people change and think completely different from what they used to and what they are willing to do in order to survive, as you know from the blurb they broke up after an event and the current situation will bring them close enough to question many things about their relationship...the question is are they willing enough to leave
their ego aside and work together to beat the villain in his own game??? Well, you have to read it in order to learn that and much more......
Page after page the mystery unravels steadily creating more suspense and as a result making it even more interesting, on the other hand, Noah and Lara will evolve as characters faster than we used to see because of the limited time they have in this nightmare. With that been said and without wanting to spoil anything I'll stop here and I will emphasize that this is a story that you can't stop reading 'till you reach the end and finally see what will happen. So I certainly recommend it and I'm looking forward to reading the next story the author will create.
ARC kindly provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review!
This was different from any book of Bella's I've ever read... I enjoyed it, I did, but not as much, or near as much, as her other works. It was very suspenseful, which had me wanting to flip through faster. Even when I was suspense movies, I always fast forward. I have no patience ha. Anywho, I did like this, I just didn't love it, like Bella's other books.
Holy. Cow!
This was one of the most intense books I have every read, like ever!
I am a great fan of Bella's, it took me a little whiles to get into the story, but eventually I was hooked!
I don't know what to say, with out giving it all away. It is one that you just have to read for yourself as it is a suspenseful story. Lara and Noel are at crossroads with a murky breakup and with the drama that comes with that.
With lots of twist and turns you will be on the edge of your seat with shifty eyes and jumping at the smallest noises around you.
Fast-paced, which was good, the novel its self isn't long at all and with a sadistic crazy man wanting them to play his game you want it to go fast to see how it all ends.
Suspenseful and dramatic with a healing love story in the midst of a crazed lunatic master manipulating and terrorizing Lara and Noah in a SAW like fashion.
This was my first Bella Jewell book and I really liked the writing as it was creative and imaginative. Lara has literally fallen apart after the death of her Nannie which she feels she caused. Going into a shell, she has become a different person and believed things that have changed her life totally. Noah is Lara's ex and is heartbroken is how their relationship ended with Lara shutting him out.
These two are literally thrown together by this crazed man age forced to play his game of death.
This book quickly drew me in to the action and drama and I couldn't put the book down. Great read. Highly recommend.
Don't know what I was expecting but this story was way better than I expected. I could feel their fear and their love, I wanted to kick Lara's butt a couple of times but her fear was understandable. Noah was the ideal man, he was a rock he kept Lara focused but he didn't hid from his emotions. I'm looking forward to more from this author.
Bella Jewel is that instant one click for me. Don't even have to read the blurb or have a title/cover... Guarantee I'll read! However I DID read the blurb for this before I read and I may or may not have screamed out loud. Bella Jewel plus SUSPENSE?! SO FREAKING EXCITING!
"There going to wish they never met me by the time I'm done with them."
A former couple, Lara and Noah, do not get a long. There's bad blood there and they just can't fix it. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, bad luck, fate, however you want to look at it - they find themselves in their worst nightmare.
"Come out come out wherever you are. We're not done playing."
We have a psychotic killer on the loose. Think Jeffrey Dean Morgan meets Norman Bates. He's gone through extensive skilled planning to make sure Lara and Noah don't escape. IF there's a way out, he's thought of it. He's constantly one step ahead. His thoughts are creepy and disturbing. I LOVED this dark side to Bella's writing. It gave me goosebumps and my heart was pounding from the get go. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out who he is, and if he's as smart as he thinks he is.
Lara wasn't my favorite character but at the same time I totally get it. She's in a book, it's fiction. If I were in her shoes in real life I'd probably lose it all even worse than she did majority of the time. If it weren't for Noah she would have been done for from the start. Thank goodness for that Noah. As pissed off and hurt as he was at her he still put everything aside and did everything to keep them safe.
"Get some rest, Lara. I'll never let you fall, don't you know that by now?"
Lara did redeem herself somewhat towards the end. Not everything was even remotely realistic but that's okay. I don't think I'd be having sex in this situation, or even thinking about it for that matter.. running, swimming... count those out too. BUT - It's a book and sometimes we just need to emerge ourselves into a different reality even if it's over the top.
The Watcher coming 2017.... AHHH CAN'T WAIT!
My rating: 4/5 stars

Wow I flew through this book! So many emotions. I don't really get into romantic suspense, but I really liked this one. It kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I think the relationship was a little immature at times, but when you're grieving and changing that can happen so it didn't really put me off. Bella Jewel is a go to reread for me when I get into a slump, so I knew this one would be good. The chemistry between the characters is great and you really root for them. This really reminded me of a Hunger Games type thing, which I enjoyed. It's definitely fast paced. It makes you realize you think things are hard and you can survive any longer that you will if it's for someone you love.
Review on Goodreads and other retailers on release week.
Thanks for allowing me to read. A fantastic read.
Ohhh this book has an amazing plot and the description is great! 72 hours to live or die! I had no clue what I was getting into excited that it was a second chance type romance at the same time it was a mystery/ suspense and maybe even a little bit of a thriller!
Lara was really headstrong and sometimes it wasn't for the best. She really proved me wrong on how I thought she would be. But I really liked her.
Noah was a total alpha!!! His determination to get Lara to see who he really is and to understand that Past was amazing! Any other man would have gave up but not Noah Noah was as stubborn as a mule.
This story was complex. I didn't know what was happening, who was doing it; and it didn't make too much sense but at the same time that's what I wanted. The plot of the second chance was fun and sweet and the whole live or die was thrilling! I was hooked.
I can't go into detail on why I can't give it 5 stars because it would spoil things, but I will say, that some things are pretty obvious and all I could wonder is why they didn't so certain things when the opportunities arose.
Overall, it was a good story. I liked the whole plot. A game of sorts. Like most of her books, Bella Jewel didn't disappoint in delivering a story of hope, mystery, and above all, love! I can't wait for more suspense novels from this author! 4 stars #2OCCJD
Lara was always a strong, opinionated woman afraid of nothing - until her grandmother was killed because Lara couldn't keep her mouth shut. Noah is Lara's former lover who was caught by her in a compromising position. Lara shut down when this happened and refused Noah's every attempt to explain. This relationship is the perfect storm for a serial killer who has kidnapped them both and given them 72 hours to get away before he hunts them down.. The killer thinks he knows everything about them and their personalities. He thinks that he will thoroughly enjoy hunting and slowly killing them both. Little does he know that Lara and Noah are forced to deal with their problems and learn to work together in order to survive. Love is far more powerful than hate could ever be!
