I absolutely enjoyed this book. Each book in this series is original and interesting. I've never felt like Darynda Jones has a formula and she just plugs in a newish story. There is character growth, heartache and development. Loved it.

I would first like to thank St. Martin's Press for letting me read this book early. As a huge fan it meant so much to get the chance.

5 stars again! I enjoyed the new stuff going on in the world. Learning new things about our crew is always a plus. Charley, Reyes, Cookie and the crew never let me down. She's coming into who she really is nicely. Some things are changing at the end that has me on pins and needles. Darynda isn't going to let me down I'm sure haha

I enjoyed the background stories even when you feel sadness at the end. It's hard connecting or liking or getting excited about something new but it can't work out. The new things learned about some of the crew is going to be interesting. I love that I laugh, cry, sigh and get upset. That's a true work of art.

I now wait on book 12.

Thank you Darynda for the world you have given us!

This is one of my favorite series and authors. Darynda Jones has kicked ass once again! Right from page one she had me laughing. Charley was in top form this time. And don't let me get started on Reyes. Can we say sexy? And both of them together steam the pages up! Fantastic story that just keeps getting better. Can't wait for the next one!

Tons of mystery and one heavy case load, Charley Davidson is peak perfection in book eleven!
From the beginning until the very end I was caught up in her world; but let’s start from the top, shall we?

Something is up with Uncle Ubie, Angel gets a little touchy feely, and Reyes? Well… he gets some steamy prime time not ready for television moments. I really did love this installment. It feels like a throwback to the earlier books. It’s more focused and albeit still funny, just not as silly as she’s been in some of the latter books– meaning that our Charlie is still fun, but not as childish as she once was.

Reyes and Charley have some much needed time together in Eleventh Grave. A more focused “team” mentality is
driven by the fact that Beep’s protection and security needs to come above all else. It’s time to get down to business and figure out what Charley is truly capable of.

“Few things in life are as surprising as having your husband, the man you gave your heart and soul to, throw you off a 350 foot building. I should know.”

LOL! Get ready folks, this is going to be one hell of a ride with a cliffhanger to die for!

5 STARS

I love the Charlie Davidson series. Charlie continues working as a private investigator and the Grim Reaper. Oh yeah, she is also a god. It is a delicate balance, solving crimes, fighting angels and keeping her coffee addiction fed. Hmm. A woman that wears many hats. I enjoyed this story, all my favorite characters make an appearance: Osh, Cookie and of course, Reyes. This book did not disappoint, in fact I am frothing for the next edition...Great job Darynda Jones!!

I love the fascinating world of Charley, the Grim Reaper, and her husband, Reyes, the son of Satan. I can hardly wait for each new book in this series to come out, then when it does, I read it immediately savoring each page. My favorite books are those that incorporate a sense of humor and wit into the story. This book is laugh out loud funny between what Charley says and her ongoing inner dialogue. Charley's compassion as she helps people "cross over", and her red hot but complicated relationship with Reyes, are two of the reasons why this book is so good. Love it!

DARYNDA JONES YOU DID IT AGAIN!! Eleventh Grave had me laughing so hard at times and completely enthralled, I actually finished this book in ONE FREAKING DAY! This might very well be the BEST one yet in Miss Jone's Charley Davidson Series...and the ending....I NEED TO GET THE NEXT BOOK...NOW in order to find out what will happen next.

Only Miss Jones can have me sighing over the cover, laughing at the humor, sighing and drooling over Reyes Farrow and wishing I was Charley Davidson. Her writing skills just doesn't cease to amaze me and I will not EVER get enough of this series. The twists and surprises are always fun and definitely make the story pop while the chemistry and sizzle between Charley and Reyes just seems to get stronger with each new book and the endings, yep, they will have you wanting to pull your hair out and BEG...DEMAND...CRY for the next book...I FREAKING LOVE IT! Eleventh Grave is an absolute favorite of mine and I am already in the process of rereading it again.

Eleventh Grave In Moonlight gets a FUN FILLED, SEXY FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its perfectly mysterious, its perfectly fun, and definitely sexier than ever!

I received this ARC for an honest review. To tell I truth,
I am normally nervous about a series when we get to this many books. I normally stop reading them because of the turn the author takes the characters, but this is not the case with Charley Davison series. I still want to know more! It is not just about the quality of her writing, but I love the humor of Charley. She is still snarky and silly. I, also, like the supporting chararters especially Cookie. She gives Charley the stable friendship she needs. I finished this book in record time. I don't like to post spoilers so I won't talk about what happened in the book. This series is still a must read for me.

Very good story concept, keeps getting more intense..
Will they ever just be able to be a family.?
Questions answers and some new questions.

Charley is back in her latest adventure as the grim reaper. This time, as she is wondering when the next god she that’s out to destroy her will strike, she gets a case that Reyes insists she drop. Since Charley won’t be told what to do, she defies him and continues because in the long run, it could help him if she solves it. In the meantime, Cookie is insisting that Uncle Bob is cheating on her because he hasn’t been himself lately. How will Charley take care of everything and everyone when she has a planet to save? Every book up to this point has been a wild ride of fun, and this book was no exception. Charley is still her slightly silly, kick-butt self, trying to come to grips with her godly status and her godly powers. Each book is so much fun, and I love even though Charley is really powerful, she still comes across as human. Even though looking back I see a couple things that weren’t perfect, the book was so great, I don’t really mind. And, wow, what an ending that came out of nowhere! How will Charley save Reyes from this?!? Fans of this long-running series will not be disappointed! If you haven’t tried it yet, start at the beginning and buckle up for a wild ride. Highly recommend!

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the e-copy of the book. This same review will be posted on both Goodreads and Amazon.

4 ½ ★
I really enjoyed this book in the series. We get a lot of answers but also a lot more questions.
The book was very busy and very fast paced. We had a lot of things happening at once, which kept me glued to the book and I finished it in one sitting.
The end was the mother of all cliff hangers, or well pretty close.
Charley is dealing with a lot in this book.
She is still dealing with not being able to see Beep and you can tell that it is really getting to her. The two men in her life, Ubi and Reyes are both telling her what to do and that is really upsetting her to great deal, but Charley being Charley, she does whatever she wants anyway. She is still learning all her powers and after a little unplanned trip receives training from Reyes. Which by the way, turns super-hot. But as he trains her he also uses it against her to get his way. While it was often funny it was also a little annoying. We also learn a little more about her status as a god and what it does to her or those around her. Heaven is in uproar about Charley and have Angels following her but the outcome might surprise you.
I also can’t believe after all Charley been through that she still has a sense of humor, we will see if it still be that way in the next book.
My hate-love relationship with Reyes continues throughout this book. I really like him but his constant not telling her stuff and keeping secrets so far into the game is getting a little old. But at least he is there when it counts. I also thought the news about him, he took well …… almost too well. I wish there would have been more of a reaction from him at least afterwards. It just seemed kind of odd for him.
Charley’s case has something to do with the Forester’s and Reyes’s kind of almost step brother. I’m not sure how much to say without giving anything away but there are quite a few twists and turns.. Some were surprise and others were pretty quick to figure out. Shawn, I don’t think we saw the last of him.
Something is happening to Ubi and also Amber but bother are two very different things but yet both are equally scary and surprising at the end.
I really enjoyed cookie in this book as well. She kind of was stuck between two bad things happening, but one of them she had not even known about and I felt sorry for her in a way.
I kind of missed Rocket in this book and we also don’t see much of Strawberry Shortcake aka Becky Taft, and the one time we see her we just left with more mysteries. Like where is David, what happened to him? It almost seemed like, it got forgotten along the way. But I’m sure we will find out in the next book.
Osh seems to be more and more in the books, which makes sense giving his destiny with…… . Which is fine because he truly is one of my favorite characters of the series. Each book we learn more about him and how much he is willing to keep Beep and Charley safe.
Overall I really loved this book except the effing cliff hanger ending …….and that I have to wait who know how long to figure out what happens next.
I rate this book at 4 ½ ★

Darynda Jones has done it again with the latest installment of Charley Davidson Once you pick it up you don't want to put it down and the ending totally had me say Holy *ucking sh*t definitely going to read this book over and over again and tell everyone to read it

Eleventh book in series
I love the sayings at each chapter heading.
I love this P.I./Grim Reaper.
Charley is a goddess, Satan's son is her husband and they share a child who was born to save the world; but had to be separated from her to be safe. I love the thought of her as a lighthouse that the departed can see anywhere in the world as a beacon when they are ready to cross over.

This book brings the thrills and excitement back for Charley and will keep you reading from the first word to the last word and leave you wanting for more of the thrill ride!

Review to come. I'm honestly a jumble of emotions right now. The ending really messed me up. I feel anger, disappointment, sadness, but I do think the book was good. I just, I just dunno how I feel about anything quite yet. Especially the mother effing CLIFF HANGERS which are getting super annoying as they now serve to stretch out the book. Charley used to have more in way of investigations, I'd like some more of that. Ugh. So yea. I dunno.

_____________

Ok, so I've slept on it a bit. Not much really happens in this book, like really, everything that happens is in the back 10% of the book. It sucks because it was only 10% of the book, I miss Charley having more adventure in the books.

Charley's witty banter, and sarcasm are no grating on my nerves, instead of finding it quirky and cute for Charley I find it annoying and sometimes distracting to the plot. I also feel like it's kind of a way for the author to add bulk to the book. Yes Charley is quirky and yes she can be serious but it hasn't been like that for a few books at least. I wish it wasn't like this for me, but I really wanted the plot to move along.

Eleventh Grave doesn't have all the quirky Cookie banter in it either. I didn't really chuckle in this book and the cast of characters this book was small. Actually the plot became more about Amber's possible Stalker than it did about anything else.

Originally, Shawn Foster of those Fosters came to Charley to have her investigate his "parents". Reyes finds out and continually tells her to "Drop the case, Dutch." to which Charley is all like "no way man". Though he never explains why, this plot point is becoming more and more prominent in their relationship as we go on and I'm becoming more and more irritated by it. They are or should be semi-stable to the point because they are married and a TEAM they should be discussing things like rational adults not playing "avoid the topic". A lot of these issues and miscommunication would be solved if they would explain their reasons instead of giving demands. So some parts of Shawn's case intersect other cases and naturally Charley and the gang get involved. Of course we don't really care about that story. No, what we really care about is what we learned about Reyes and Charley in the last book and how Reyes is going to take it.

So we come to the end of the book the last chapter.....SPOILERS warning, I feel like I can't adequately explain this without explaining what exactly happened. <spoiler> So Charley and Reyes are kind of in a sad mood based on what happened in the previous chapter. Understandable. Charley then decides to pull out the god glass and gaze upon it and reflect on how there are so many innocent souls trapped in it and she doesn't know how to get out to which suddenly Reyes says "Send me." What? NO! Don't do that!

To which Charley keeps telling him she doesn't want to to which Reyes convinces her to put him in, and I'll tell you this seemed like about a 5 min discussion if that. I'm sorry if you're going to send Reyes into the god glass THAT WAS DESIGNED FOR HIM(!!!!!) then you need to have plans, and learn more about it and contingency plans, not a 5 fucking minute conversation where Reyes basically bullies Charley into doing it for just 30 seconds.

So. Charley caved and in goes Reyes to the god glass. Which she calls him back after like 15 seconds and nothing has happened. NOTHING. HAS. HAPPENED. REYES IS NOT BACK! So I'm starting to freak out and Charley is freaking out - I told her NOT to do this, that it was a bad bad bad horrible idea, she didn't listen. Finally after like an hour of freaking the fuck out the souls are released and pass through Charley (side note, can the departed pass at any time? If so then why does she ask them to pass through her if they can pass on their own. Was this ever explained??) and a few minutes pass before "Reyes" comes through. I say "Reyes" because it's Reyez'akeen or whatever. He immediately calls Charley by her celestial name, and chokes her. *sigh* I feel a sudden loss. Like Reyes better not be gone at all. I'm equal parts hoping he's joking and messing with her and equal parts hoping he isn't because that would be shitty to do. However, Charley is right she might have unleashed hell on earth. And that annoys me. Reyes is ALWAYS trying to be better, always trying to be the good guy and for what? Everyone else to keep doubting him? For him to succumb to the darkness, it really sucks.</spoiler>

So I've been in a weird mood since finishing this book. It just hit me harder and I really don't want to see where this goes, but I also have to follow through. I am however, tired of the hooking a fish tactic and constant ending on cliff hangers. I don't feel satisfied. I feel angry that the book ended where it did when the other 200 or so pages didn't really bring us to THIS POINT. And now I have to wait however long to get an answer to this stupid idiotic thing that happened.

And yes I'll still rate it 4 stars because of the impact it had for me. I was completely affected by this book. I didn't know what to do with myself, I felt a bit melancholy so yea. That ending definitely an impact. But a cliff hanger really?

Talk about a cliffhanger!!! So I waited, very impatiently , for this book but it was well worth the wait! Darynda Jones never disappoints and Eleventh Grave in Moonlight was impossible to put down!
I am trying really hard to find my words without spoilers but everything about this book I just want to rave about! Charley is back and up to her normal witty words and shenanigans while going about her work as a private investigator and trying to figure out how to ensure her daughters safety by trapping the threats. She takes a case and her client is none other than the adopted son of the people who kidnapped Reyes from his birth parents. That just starts Charley, Reyes, Cookie and the gang along a path with so many twists and turns your head is filled with the action.
I loved that in this installment we were not just talking about Charley. We have Cookie freaking out because Ubie is being distant and withdrawn, Amber has a stalker, Osh is still not one hundred percent, and Reyes is trying to force Charley from taking on her new case. What always gave me the feels when reading this are the moments that Charley fully lets herself miss her daughter. The writing is so raw, I felt the pangs of loss myself almost.
This book was full of emotion, humor, action, and some steamy scenes that all add up to a spectacularly fast paced good time. I am left impatiently waiting for the next book to see where the characters go from here, especially with the mother of all cliffhangers at the end of this book!

It struck me while reading this book that Darynda Jones is a genius. She must be…..to create these beings and these universal “truths”, that once you read about them, seem completely logical. A series development from book 10 had me a bit worried about her collection of enemies, but it was handled very well in this installment. I didn’t think it was possible, but the sparking dialogue is even cleverer and more irreverently hilarious than ever. There is SO much happening in this book and to the series itself. I chuckled throughout and even shed a few tears at one point. I loved every fast paced second…and that ending OMG…that ending! Bring on Twelfth Grave.
