I loved every minute I spent devouring this book! 😍 Having read the previous two books in this trilogy, I my heart wasn't ready to let go yet. My only complaint was in regards to their powers, but even then, I felt like it was done beautifully.
Wonderful story, wonderful characters, and a wonderful way to say goodbye to this trilogy!
Miranda MacDonnell is on the run. When she inherited a mysterious relic from her mother, she had no idea the dangers it would bring. Now hunted by a relentless foe who will stop at nothing to find her, she has one choice: stow away on the ship of the notorious privateer, Black Hawk.
Rob Hawkins, the half-English privateer known as Black Hawk, has a mission from the Tudor king to find and kill the rogue commander, Sir Ralph Evers. To complete his quest, Hawk must find Miranda, a young woman Evers is pursuing. Caught in a tempest, he is shipwrecked with a "boy" who demonstrates an uncanny ability for saving him. Cast away on the mysterious Isle of the Dead, Hawk realizes that the "boy" traveling with him is actually Miranda MacDonnell and having her means that Evers will come to him. What begins as a ploy —using her as bait—soon changes, however, as he falls in love with her.
This was a wild adventure that I enjoyed thoroughly. I love a good adventure, which this book completely delivered. The interactions between the main characters was great. This book delivered! I can't’ wait to read more from this author.

I really loved Miranda and Rob's story!
As with the other two books in the series, the H/H were forced to spend time with each other as they were on the run from Ralph Evers. However, in this case, Rob didn't know he was with Miranda as she was disguised as a boy. I was fun to watch the interactions between Rob and the young man he was traveling with...
I felt like this story had a lot more mystical world happening in it, so be aware of that if it isn't your thing.
This was a great conclusion to the Scottish Relic Trilogy!!
Tempest in the Highlands is the final book in the Scottish Relic Trilogy. This series combines my favorite storyline elements, Scots, great characters, a worthy villain, intrigue, romance, and a great story told with a touch of Highland paranormal. Miranda MacDonnell inherits the last tile from her mother and with it the ability to see the future. Unfortunately the villain Sir Ralph Evers knows who and where she is. She is able to flee by boarding the Peregrine, Rob Hawkins' ship. From then on they are seemingly in constant danger. As events unfold, Innes, Kenna and their husbands end up in the same place as Miranda and Hawk, as does Evers. How can they defeat Evers? Just who are the protectors and what is their role? As much as I loved this series and couldn't wait to find out what happened, I really hate to see it end. This has been one of the best series I have ever read. I do hope the authors plan to write more Highland stories with a paranormal twist.
WOW. I mean this last book in the Trilogy blew me away! I couldn't have predicted this plot if I wanted to! I absolutely LOVED how this story ended and meeting Miranda and Hawk. I loved the other books characters and their involvement in completing this story. It really is a great read and I highly recommend!

This book, third and last in the series, had a trope that we all love. The heroine pretending to be a boy in order to actively participate in her own destiny.
Miranda was on the run from the Englishman Ralph Evers, who was using his position of power to be able to ruthlessly hunt down all the others who had pieces of the stone that gave them special powers. Escaping by boat only led to her being shipwrecked with Rob Hawkins, the notorious Black Hawk privateer. Fortunately, her disguise as a young man kept her safe for quite a while, until Rob discovered the truth.
Would he help her? Unbeknownst to her, Rob is on a mission from the English King to find and destroy Ralph Evers, so being with her ensures that they will eventually meet up. Of course, as fate would have it, they become romantically involved and so Rob's desire to protect her from Evers gets stronger, and his desire to end Evers also gets stronger.
As the other stone-keepers and their partners gathered with Miranda and Rob, Ralph Evers grows nearer and nearer. Can they keep him from getting the last part and using the full tablet to resurrect a dark magic that would harm the entire world?
These books are very interesting and the romantic element is always enjoyable. However, by the time I got to this I was pretty much done. Maybe if I'd read them closer together? Might have helped. I had just lost the urgency to finish the series. Otherwise, it was a good read. If you enjoy Scottish tales with some spooky or magical qualities, I think you'd really like this series and this book. Thanks!
