Bummer, I so wanted to like this story. The blurb reminds me of the movie 3 Men and A Baby, but here with the added Alpha daddy and uncles, because ...former Marines and all. It started okay enough with how the three men juggled their life with baby Chloe and it was pretty adorable.
Alas, the erratic pacing and further revelation of the characters (main and secondary alike) gave me pause. Added one misunderstanding after another and the story just went downhill for me.
Not only that, the heroine - Addison - didn't endear herself to me; and she was pretty judgemental, too. Not that Collin was any better; in the way he thought one thing but react the other way. Basically he just couldn't keep his hands off her whenever she's around. When he tried to stop it, Addison felt slighted then ran away.
And there went the weird interactions (as in: misunderstanding) between Addison and Collin. With me muttering: why the hell nobody say clearly what they actually mean!?!
So yeah, it's the story of two adults bad at communicating. That they *finally* changed their mind and accept that they can TRY to be civil with one another ...gads know why. Not so clear either, and there's never really the talk to clear the misunderstanding.
Likewise the supposedly close-knit connection the three former Marines had, as the story went they didn't seem to be THAT close after all. And rather than capable Alpha males, they pictured a frat-boy-like maturity. At least, that wasn't the vibe I got. Another thing is, most female in this book came across as selfish and like to preach on people (when they obviously not so great themselves). The only good thing for me here were baby Chloe and - say - the first thirty pages of the story. Oh, those who love steamy scenes on page would probably be happy with what offered here.
As this the first entry of Reckless Hearts series, next on the list I predicted either Gavin's or Max's story. If their love interests were who I thought they were though, I think I'd just give them pass. Didn't think I've the patience reading them.

In so many dismissive ways the novel, "Reckless Heart," felt more like a sappy family drama on a television network rather than possessing a strong, romantic storyline of a potential romance novel.
Wow, I cannot remember the last time I read a novel that had so many secondary characters running all over the pages, but that was what I found in this book. So many characters, one baby, one story, one romance and it was all way too much for to handle. This book seriously about drove me insane as I read throughout the story in hopes of uncovering some portion that would have made sense. (I never found what I was looking.)
The writing was too ordinary. I wanted a sexy adventure centered around what I was promised in the book-marines, a baby and a romance. Instead I received a modern day headache of major problems and life mistakes. There was a little humor in this book, but it felt as equally as pushed like the romance.
The one solid, positive trait that I did like about this book was the fact that Collin adored his baby girl and was willing to do whatever it took to protect her and make her life as easy as possible and I truly did love that about Collin's character.
As I bring this review to a close I just want to point out that this is my sole opinion. The story, the characters and the romance was not the right fit for me nor in the style of romance that I enjoy, so I won't be continuing future novels in this series.

Reckless Hearts is a promising start to the Reckless Hearts series. I enjoyed Colin and his friends and look forward to seeing what happens next.

3.5 Stars.
I liked the story in this book.. I loved all of Collin's friends (especially Gavin) and i loved Addy and little Chloe too.. All the characters were pretty cool.
However, i felt this book draggggggged a lot..i mean the plot is pretty simple but there was a lot of back and forth and misunderstandings in the first 40% of the book..
Still though, it was a decent book..i cant wait to read about Gavin..i hope his story is next.
