this is the first book by this author that ive read and it definitely wont be the last. I just couldn't put it down till id got to the very last page. This is a very hot and steamy read, with plenty of chemistry between the characters. The story is funny and intense but also hot and steamy in just the right places. I cant wait to read more from this author in the future.
Highly recommended
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book
For the past year, ex-army ranger Stone Mitchum hast put 110% into Foxtrot Construction, a company he started with his brother Brick and two ex-ranger friends to hire and help veterans reincorporate into civilian life. Having the responsibility of the company and his men he has no time for distractions like relationships, but when a sexy filly from Philly sparks his attention, he’s helpless to resist her.
Jovy Larson will be in Joyful for a month to convince her grandfather that she’s the woman for the job to take over as CEO of Larson Industries, fulfilling her lifelong dream, and keeping her promise she made to her father on his deathbed. But a close encounter with a jealous cow and one horseback ride with a delicious cowboy who just happens to be her landlord has her putting her business degree to good use in Stone’s company and reconsidering her dream.
This is my first Donna Michaels book and it was a sweet and enjoyable read. Jovy is smart, caring and adorably perfect for the surly, uptight Stone, and yet Stone’s dedication to his men is commending. The two of them heat up the pages with their impossible to ignore attraction. Even their relationship threatened to give me cavities with so much sweetness, I got caught up in their romance from the start to finish.
I enjoyed getting to know Stone and Jovy as much as a liked getting to know Brick and the rest of the At Ease Ranch guys and I can’t wait to read more about them. I also liked Michaels’ highlight on the issues veterans face when rejoining society.
I liked that this was a light, easy read. The writing and pacing was good, with as many funny moments as sweet and sexy ones.
In a Ranger’s Arms is book #1 in the Men of At Ease Ranch series by Donna Michaels. It is a standalone sweet and gooey contemporary romance. Told from two points of view with a happy ending.
This was a good one. Stone and Jovy are going to learn real fast that you can't assume. They're also in for quite the surprise. I loved the cow. There is one scene in particular that is just too funny. I like the reason and story behind the construction company. Jovy is opening up a vegan cafe in cattle country. What she gets is a lot more then she bargained for. I liked the chemistry between Jovy and Stone. Stone has put himself on hiatus on relationships, but Jovy has him thinking thoughts he shouldn't have. I can't wait for more from this series.
