Super cute and funny! When I saw the cover I simply assumed this was going to be a sexy book but it turned out I was wrong! I want more.
This is the first book I've read that the hero wasn't a manwhore. Matt has such a high value for family and work, while also being super sexy. I love my manwhore characters like anyone else, but it was nice to read about a hero who was more of a beta with a bada** heroine. This was a great short read and I plan to read more by this author.
This was a cute and funny read! I especially loved Matthew and his family! They were hilarious! And Matthew isn't your typical romance hero either! Such a cute geek!
Omg so funny. Had me laughing out loud more than once! A great new adult novel, especially if you're new to the genre of on the edge about it
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book free for my opinion.
First of all, let me say, I loved this book! I laughed out loud so many times. It is funny and sums up how sometimes misunderstandings can be the cornerstone of something wonderful.
I loved storyline from both of the main characters. Holly's inner struggle with herself over herself and her insecurity is refreshing and relatable. Matthew's tete a tete with his member was hilarious, I laughed as that struggle for control seemed so likely and it was a funny perspective to read from.
The storyline underneath all the humour was cute and the characters seemed like people you would want to spend some time with, from their friends to their family. I will definitely be reading the follow-up book as well as checking out the author's other books.
I had an e-arc of this, but forgot to download it before it got archived, because I’m dumb. Anyway since I’m not one to be content with that, I sought this book out and read it in a couple of hours. And now I have a real bone to pick with it.
Listen, I’m not gonna bother with a full review. I’ll use bullet points to share my dislikes:
• slut shaming;
• fat shaming;
• skinny shaming;
• bi-erasure;
• borderlining on homophobia;
• main guy is a “nice guy”;
• at one point he tells the girl he’ll “keep ask until she agrees”, lol no boy get off my lawn;
• main girl is a judgmental bitch, sorry not sorry;
• they literally exist only so they can “fall in love”, what’s a characterization;
• main guy talks to his “Peen”;
• worst part is that said “Peen” TALKS BACK;
• there’s literally an entire chapter dedicated to a conversation between them;
• generic side characters are generic;
• the whole story is just about two white Americans “falling in love”;
• and they definitely don’t let you forget they’re American;
• it was just bland, all of it.
I expected this to be a cute, fun read. There was nothing fun about it, however. Maybe you think differently and that’s okay. I just can’t get past all these issues that this book promotes. Cheers!
The Two-Night One-Night Stand has most definitely confirmed that I need to read more New Adult. Nine times out of ten I love them and this hilarious masterpiece is no different.
The Two-Night One-Night Stand is the story of a guy and girl in their mid-twenties who accidentally have a one-night stand, not once, but twice. This is romantic comedy at it's finest and it was just hilarious from start to finish. I was in absolute hysterics. It's a very fun and quick read, and definitely for mature readers only.
Both the main characters, Holly and Matthew, were just fantastic and I loved them. Holly is just plain hilarious. I could not get enough of her. I felt I could relate to her too as I also lack any form of a brain-to-mouth filter when I've had a drink. And, also like Holly, I'm pretty sure I'm in the process of being set up with a guy and, like Holly, I'm fairly reluctant. I just found Holly so fun and sassy and I want to be her friend in real life!
Matthew is just so... cute and sexy and adorable and hot. I love, love, love him and his nerdiness. He is just so adorably awkward too. Best of all, he isn't an asshole like so many men in New Adult fiction. And his "talking peen" had me in complete stitches. I so want someone like Matthew in my life. He is definitely a new book boyfriend for me.
The Two-Night One-Night Stand is told from the alternating perspectives of Holly and Matthew and each of their inner monologues are hysterical. I did feel that their story is slightly predictable, but I didn't care! Their story was just so hilarious that it kept my attention easily and I wish it was longer. Plus, there are a few twists along the way that did leave me questioning how it would all end. But, the ending is just perfection.
I would definitely recommend The Two-Night One-Night Stand to fans of hilariously funny new adult fiction. If you are a fan of Alice Clayton's Wallbanger, I can definitely see you enjoying this. I cannot wait to read more by Ryan Ringbloom also.
This was a pretty funny read. Even though Matthew wasn't an Alpha, he was a bit of a nerd and his nervousness was charming. I loved the way the author had these two meet and I enjoyed the interaction with Matthews family. I didn't love that Holly pushed away so much but I liked how her friend knocked some sense into her. Cute story! ARC provided by NetGalley.
Blind date/mistaken identity on Halloween.
Hot but nerdy guy whose not who the h thinks he is (but I didn't hate him for that). Hot but nerdy guy who has ongoing conversations with "Peen".
Heroine who loved her one night stand but can't get over the "one-night stand" label. Heroine who can be slightly annoying.
Quick, easy read that could have been better with a heroine who owned her relationships or lack of and sexuality and a hero who was more self-confident.
