David e Sophie.

Dafne e Craig , Lane e Tessa :)

5 Farfalline in pieno!!!

Sophie has had a crush on her BIL's brother, David, for a while but lives far away. When her sister is put on bedrest, Sophie sells her house, becomes a partner with her sister in the yoga studio and starts teaching classes. Suddenly Sophie finds herself teaching Kama Sutra with David, putting them in very compromising positions. Soon they can't keep their hands off each other. But due to Sophie's past, she doesn't believe in love or relationships and neither does David, till he finds himself wanting more.

This is a very cute romance. It definitely what I would think of as a slow burn. David Strong is alot of things a playboy who runs a fitness empire but a yogo teacher he aint. But when his best friend begs himto help teach a class at his wife's gym he cant say no. But when he finds out it a class on sensational sex with his best friends wife little sister he wishes he did say no. Sophie Delfino has been in love with David since she was a teenager she even saved herself for him. But really does not believe things can happen. Hes a playboy shes athe virgin. Her sister hates him she loves him. When they start growing closer teaching a class onsex positions and she help himfind an embezzler in his company she believes things might work out... this was a great story I adore how David and Sophie both grew during the book, and the book was hot...

Yoga turns steamy hot in this laugh-out-loud romance. Sophie Delfino is a giver in every sense of the word. Always putting others before herself, she is determined to make her very pregnant sister's life easier, by taking on even more responsibilities at their women's only gym. One of those new challenges is giving a very enticing Sensational Sex Workout. Thought out by her sister, the class teaches Kama Sutra positions to couples determined to improve their sex life. It would all be fine if only Sophie had some experience on the topic. She has none. Zero. Zilch. Nada. A virgin in her late twenties, Sophie could almost handle it. Until her fantasy man turns out to be her partner in crime. David Strong knows a lot about running a business. He owns a billion dollar corporation. A fitness god in his own right, David has rules that keep him in shape, in charge and free of entanglements. A no relationship man, he doesn’t date. He has a set of requirements when it comes to women and Sophie meets none of them. She is petite, brunette, challenging, gorgeous, sexy, feisty and determine to bring him to his knees. But David doesn’t disappoint. He gave his best friend his word that he would help teach the classes and he will. The real challenge will be keeping his hands off the woman who now haunts his every thought. Complete opposites, Sophie and David have a few things in common, they banter like no other, they enjoy spending time together, and their shared class is the stuff dirty dreams are made of. A funny and sexy tale of opposites attract and fall in love, while breaking every rule in the book…

When I first read Jenna Bayley-Burke’s Compromising Positions it was long before I started reviewing for Guilty Pleasures and I remember finishing the book and immediately began re-reading it. I’ve probably read this book 20 times since it was first released and I’ve read the re-released version twice already. I can’t even tell you why this book resonated so much with me; just that it did. There was something magical about the connection between the hero and heroine, their strange and twisted “not a relationship” and the deception that was a part of their lives unbeknownst to them. Sensual, seductive, and emotional; years later Compromising Positions remains one of the best romances I’ve ever read.

David Strong has rules about the women he spends time with and there are many, many rules. David doesn’t do relationships, he doesn’t do love and he knows that women always leave so there is no since in ever getting attached. For 35 years David has managed his life just fine until he agrees to help out his best friend and fill in for a couple’s yoga class and he meets Sophie who doesn’t play by his rules at all and shakes up his entire world.

I’ve always loved David despite his man whorish tendencies and his somewhat overinflated ego. I loved how from the beginning he was drawn to Sophie and was willing to go to bat for her and defend her at all costs, but more that that I loved that he realized what a special person she is even when she’s angry and driving him crazy. David’s world revolved around work, but Sophie made him see more than that; she filled his life with fun and joking and she teased him in more ways than one, but more that that she really understood how alone he felt and she made him see that having someone in his life wasn’t so bad. Sophie was such a powerhouse and yes, her somewhat obsession about David (her brother in law’s best friend) might be considered a bit crazy had she acted on it before he became a part of her life, but she didn’t and once she knew he would be around for awhile she decided to just go for it, no regrets.

Every bit of this story was meaningful, ever interaction between them important and each time I read this book I get something more out of it. The emotions these two bring out, the way they fall into a relationship, the lost little boy inside David, the strength in Sophie, and they way fit together despite their huge height difference all make this book one phenomenal love story and I’ll just add that the epilogue in this book is one of my favorites EVER.

For years Compromising Positions has been my “go to” romance; the one I read over and over again and I’m so excited that it is being re-released and I hope that many, many new readers discover the magic within its pages.

This was a good read, because you had the alpha male in David Strong with enough rules that would ward off any woman with dreams of a happy home with a white picket fence, 2.5 kids and a dog. Settling down was not in the cards for him, but a one night stand, he was all for that. In this novel you also had a strong heroine in Sophie DelFino. Despite some slight insecurities, she knew what she wanted and how she wanted to be treated. And what she wanted was David, on her terms.

But as fate would have it Sophie’s needy sister, Daphne, needed her yet again, but this time to teach a karma sutra yoga class with Craig the obnoxious brother in law. So where does the good fortune come in? Well instead of Craig, David shows up in his place. You see Sophie’s had a crush on David since her sister’s wedding, but her sister threw some serious shade his way by breaking all kinds of “cool kid” codes by telling her about all of his dirt. Needless to say, Sophie or David were not prepared for the class or the way their lives would transform from the first class onward.

Now I liked this story. It was nicely written in a way that was not too raunchy and had unexpected elements that made it just right. However, there was a feeling that some issues were left unresolved and streams of thought left incomplete. Like why didn't Sophie ever tell her sister the dark family secret and why was Daphne too fragile to ever know and how inappropriate workplace behavior was remedied by marrying the person behaving badly? And why wasn't Craig ever called out for being an opportunistic jerk? Man, I didn’t like him, no matter how hard Ms. Bayley-Burke tried to make him likeable. And that sister, Daphne… HUMPH!

I digress. I would easily give this read 3.5-stars and recommend that you jog on out and read Compromising Positions by Jenna Bayley-Burke.
