A rock star and a lawyer! 2 completely different people that will have sexual chemistry and Sawyer Bennett is the one that is talented enough to bring it to you. Steamy scenes, love/hate relationship, what more can you ask for? Like everyone says, opposites attract!
A sweet and sexy opposites attract story. An enjoyable read but the story line was a little predictable,
Loved it! Sexy, fun, and sweet story! The writing was superb and I adored the characters!! Another great read by Sawyer!! I definitely recommend this book!
I confess that I'm a Sawyer fan. I just read her Sugar Bowl series and I loved it. I also read most of the Carolina Fury Ice Hockey romances and some of her earlier legal romance novels. I'm saying all that to say that even though there were a few things (Emma) that unnerved me about this book, I probably wouldn't give Sawyer anything less than a positive rating. I think that this author's writing is extremely well thought out and put together. Her books are researched well and never strain credibility. No matter how I may feel about plot choices, I always feel like I'm in the book and I always remember her stories.
This book starts out with intrigue- and by that I mean a murder and a mystery. Evan is a rock star who finds himself at the center of a murder charge. Evan is all the hot alpha sex appeal you expect from a rock star. He's also a manwhore who offers women a nice parting gift as he kicks them out of his house (kidding about the parting gift but not about the kicking out part). Emma is a plain, boring contracts lawyer. Ok, I'm about to travel down a side road. I'm actually a lawyer and stuff like this drives me CRAZY. First of all, baby contract lawyers don't just randomly jump into high profile cases with high profile clients. It makes me feel like the only reason Evan wanted Emma was because of her looks, which I didn't like. Oh, wait, I don't have a second of all, that's it. But, whatever, suspend disbelief and go with it.
I actually really liked Evan in this book. Evan is written in the typical fashion of Sawyer Bennett heroes. He is extremely confident and pursues Emma even as she tries to put him off. I love the chase and I love that Evan didn't give up on Emma. Emma and Evan share a tour bus and pretty soon they are sharing way more than that. The only thing, other than the legal issues, that gave me pause in this book was Emma's reaction to the conflict in the story. I won't tell you what happens but Emma's reaction left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt like Evan more than earned Emma's trust. I didn't get why Emma didn't just give him the benefit of the doubt. That didn't detract from my enjoyment in this book. There was great chemistry between these characters, some hot sexy scenes and a really sweet romance. I'm not really big on rock & roll romances but I recommend this book and I think you'll enjoy it.
Another Sawyer Bennett Masterpiece
Loved this book!!
Sawyer Bennett is awesome and devises yet again an enticing and intriguing tale of lust, emotion and depth.
Strong characters, an excellent storyline and lots of steam.
Sawyer Bennett is the queen. Queen of what you may ask? Everything. She can do hockey players. Lawyers. Business men. And with Sexy Lies and Rock & Roll she took on rockers. And what she's devivered with this book and a sweet, sexy and sinful alpha in Evan Scott and a demure and intelligent heroine in Emma. Their chemistry is undeniable, but Emma sure tries to deny it. She can't reconcile the passion that lies within Evan's eyes, and dirty talk. But the more they're together, the more he tempts her until she can't possibly say no again.
In between the scintillating fiery moments between Evan and Emma is a well-developed and fascinating story. I was truly mesmerized. Sexy Lies and Rock & Roll is a winner for anyone looking for a super hot romance and a twisty, turny story that will have you glued to the pages and dying for an Evan Scott of your own!
Wow this one is just a little different.
I love Sawyer Bennett no matter what she writes. Its always amazing
Sexy Lies and Rock & Roll is sweet, funny and very sexy.
Evan is likable and so secure in who he his that it made me wish there were more men like him walking around. He's got confidence to spare and isn't afraid to go after what he wants. And Evan wants Emma.
It took me a while to warm up to Emma. Her constant stick up her butt act really kind of annoyed me. But then she began to loosen up a little and she began to shine. Her simple act of caring for Evan and not his life style makes her special.
This book is a quick lighthearted read that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy at the end.
When I heard about this release from Sawyer Bennett, I remember thinking "well let's see what SB can do with a hot rocker". Well rest assured she can do magic! Evan Scott has many of the things we all love in a typical hot rocker - cocky, hot, dirty talking and knows what he wants; but Evan wasn't just those things because he was also smart, sweet, thoughtful and at times a bit insecure. Throw in a straight-laced lawyer who just wants to hide in an office and do research and there was bound to be conflict, because let's face it on the surface Emma Peterson wants nothing to do with Evan. There was something about the pairing of Emma and Evan that was intriguing and just made you know sparks were gonna fly!
And fly did they ever! Here were a few of my favorite things. The way Evan was determined to change Emma's perception of him. Her crazy big but lovable dog. When Evan buys Emma new clothes. The way Emma stands up for what Evan wants despite what his friend/manager, Tyler tries to convince him. When Evan and Emma finally give in to their attraction - just wow! The way Evan romances Emma and is there for her. Watching Emma come into the confident woman and lawyer she was made to be. Evan and his rapport with his Aunt Midge. Glimpses of some of my faves from Friction and the law firm of Knight & Payne. But the best was simply watching Evan and Emma get their happy, because these two were just two opposites that had no choice but to make each other whole!
