A charming and funny end to Denton's story. Even though the stakes were higher in this book, it wasn't quite as captivating as the first. The many chase scenes get a little repetitive. Still, it was nice to spend time with these characters again. I especially liked learning more about Denton's dad and birth mom. All in all it's a breezy read and would recommend it to those who really enjoyed the first.

I just loved the first Denton Little book and was eagerly anticipating this one. I found it a very different read. The first one felt like a very realistic contemporary with a slight spec-fic twist. This one is much...wackier? It definitely doesn't feel like a realistic contemporary anymore. But! It's very fun. If you're up for a pretty goofball, wild ride, it's a lot of fun.

This book didn't quite live up to the first one. There was a lot going on in this one and it didn't flow as smoothly as the first.
However, it definitely still had a ton of laugh out loud moments. Paolo was better in this one, as was Millie.
If you liked the first one, I would recommend this one.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House for the ARC in exchange for this review.

First of all, I LOVED the first book and was so excited to read the second one. To kind of summarize, everyone has a death date that they know ahead of time. Denton's came, and he survived! This book picks up where the last one left off. I don't want to give away too much of the plot, but I will say that it kind of felt like a wild goose chase. There are lots of different storylines happening all at once - Denton trying to save his friend, learning more about death dates, the resistance in stopping death dates, learning more about his mom. Some of it was really great, but I got the impression that maybe the author was not sure of how he wanted to wrap things up. There were plot details that sounded great, and I wondered why they were just now being brought up. It wasn't quite what I wanted, but it was still a fun read. 3 solid stars.

Did you love "Denton Little's Deathdate"? Then you are in luck because "Denton Little's Still Not Dead" is even better! Action-packed with twists and turns a-plenty, this is the perfect sequel.

Denton is coping with the twist from the end of the first book (no spoilers here!). This means that he is spending a lot of time indoors, trying to justify the information he knows now compared to what he thought he knew his whole life. When an exciting opportunity arises to save his best friend Paolo, Denton kicks into gear - dodging government agents, heartbroken girls, and the public. A satisfying conclusion to a quirky, worthwhile story.

I appreciate the effort the author went through to explain the history of deathdating and the benefits to either side - corporations and insurance companies making money off of people. I love that the background is so well thought out and explained without it seeming overbearing.

As a character Denton found out more information and had to accommodate new truths, he grew - so there's less snark as the novel goes on and he makes more rational decisions. I also am enamored with the portrayal of friendship in this series. The most obvious relationship to discuss is the friendship between Denton and Paolo. They do not always get along, but they are there for each other no matter what. It really warmed my heart.
