An insightful and at times chilling look into a rough time in US history. From before the movement to its height - a great look at what was fueling the unrest to a fever pitch, and an unvarnished look at the shameful way minorities were treated in the name of advancing the white middle and upper classes. The long and short term effects are well laid out for the reader. A piece of history that is rarely taught in mainstream history classes.
