I received this unedited and unpublished e-book Montana Secret Santa by author Debra Salonen to read and review for free. I have never written anything by Debra Salonen. I loved her writing style and will be looking for more of her written work. This is a perfect book to get you in the holiday mood. This book flowed quickly but wasn't hard to keep up. It made you want to keep reading and not put it down. I loved the two main character Jonah and Krista they had great chemistry that you could feel coming out of the book,. I didn't realize this was part of a series, I plan on looking at the other books in this series. But this also could have been a stand alone book. I am hoping to get a follow up book written to this book to see what these characters are up to and who they help with there secret santa group, This book will be wanting to find some hot chocolate to ;) I would recommend this book.
3.5 Santa Delivers! Stars

Every time I see Debra Salonen is involved in a group series about Marietta, Montana....I smile a little bit bigger. It is the understanding...the knowing I will get a little bit more than the usual love story. There will be details which will flesh out the characters...It will have a sense of community and how things feel in this Mystical town of Marietta....and I also know Ms. Salonen will give me more...more feelings of things I can relate to...things which could be true if I wish to swap the fantasy part and insert a real life.
For we all may have had experiences of difficult parents and whether they get along during the holidays...and many of the hunky men we wish were ours WERE the Nerds no one wanted to hang with. So even though in this particular story... the parents are famous movie folk...and the man of the hour is a Nerd/Genius who just sold one of his companies for more money then the Government could print...Those basic feelings are relatable.
In this third entry to the Love at the Chocolate Shop Series , we have the new resident Krista Martin, a transplant from NYC. She was happy to leave the East Coast for Marietta when her bestie, Amanda wooed her into joining Blue Sky Advertising. She left all her bad memories behind and dove in full throttle to make their advertising company a success. They had a couple of strong quarters... but lately, Amanda has not been focused on the business; she got engaged.... then married and now Krista needs to figure out how to approach her partner about the slump.
This is what she is thinking about when she collides with Jonah Andrews in front of the chocolate shop.
Jonah is back at home to take care of his parents' dogs while they go to Florida to look after his sister. There has been a difficult situation with her family and girls... and the parents want to convince them to move back to Marietta. This means it would be perfect for Jonah to take over the homestead and look after the shaggy brood. After all, he just sold his latest computer/engineering company for a gazillion or so dollars and needs to figure out what is next.
It is Jonah's juggling the zip leash of a small Beagle which catches between Krista's legs which causes a chain of events landing them on the sidewalk. Luckily for Krista, Jonah moved fast enough to block her from landing on the cement...Unlucky for both, he blocked her fall by having his body hit the ground and hers landing on his...Both felt the ease of how nicely they fit...he, having his arm wrapped around her waist to cushion the fall, enjoyed her soft curves...She, liking the feeling of certainty and strength he gave from just his being there...
This is how these two meet and Marietta being Marietta...we know there will be a reason for them to be thrown together. It is the Secret Santa Society and it needs both of their expertise. It has been declining and these two are the last hope to make it thrive again. It is their working together for this common goal which allows us to see their unplanned romance grow.
This series is very easy reading. There is warmth, heart and a little focus on real issues...we get to see how our couple handles their fear of relationships...We see how each person is a whole being all on their own... and by being in this relationship, it only enhances what each person brings to the table.
We also have the joy of the season. This is a Christmas series so all of the heart and happiness the holiday brings is front and center. This was a delightful addition and there were plenty of hints for us to be interested in all the other books to come.

Really enjoyed this story. I like how everyone helps everyone out and makes things work. Very reminiscent of Jill Shalvis and Susan Mallery. Gotta love small towns at Christmas
This is the first book I have read in this series and I believe it is #3. This book seemed easy to follow and I felt it easily stood alone. Krista is a fairly newcomer to Murietta. Her BFF is newly married and pregnant and they own and run a PR company in Murrietta.
While I loved the cover, I felt what it depicted was no accurate. Jonah is the hero in this story and he is the one dog walking at the chocolate store in Murietta when he runs into Krista and I mean RUN!! That is how they meet as he is a dot.com genius who just sold his company for billions and is in Murrietta helping his family and walking and taking care of their dogs while they vacation in Florida for the holiday season.
The title of the book is very accurate as both get draftedfor the Montana Secret Santa board and decide to be co-presidents. The Secret Santa program is where they fulfill wishes for sad, neglected members of the Murietta community and drum up donations for their projects.
Thats how the two get to know each other and fall head over each other. This is a fun xmas holiday season romance and I really liked all the characters in this small town romance.
There is community, heart, and the magic of Christmas in Marietta, Montana throughout the reading of Montana Secret Santa. I love all books written around the small town of Marietta Montana especially the Christmas ones. The two main characters have been roped into helping out the town’s struggling Secret Santa group. The author sets the pace for their blooming friendship to take hold while resisting their feelings. This is a good addition to the Love at the Chocolate Shop series and is a perfect book to get you in the holiday spirit.
This is book 3 of 12 in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series. The series is centered around the town’s Chocolate Shop but if you haven’t the first two (which are very good reads) it will not take away from this story.
I was provided a free copy from the publisher via Netgalley and am voluntarily reviewing it.
"Montana Secret Santa" Love At The Chocolate Shop #3 by Debra Salonen.
My Rating: 3.5 Stars!!!
"Montana Secret Santa" is book three in the Love At The Chocolate Shop series. Each novel in the series is written by a different author.
I love reading any and all books written about that picturesque, romantic town of Marietta, Montana. If you are a fan of Tule authors than you are well acquainted with this town and the dozens of novel broken up into different series. I have read 92 of them and still haven't gotten to them all yet! I admit I constantly stalk Tule's website for a list of their new releases.
So if you like steady paced romances featuring sexy heroes and the woman who win their hearts, a feel good story with light suspense/angst and always an HEA, I recommend these novels.
This series takes place in and around Marietta with the focal setting being Sage O'dell's chocolate shop.
Jonah Andrews is back in town for a while staying at his parents' home. He is going to be their dog sitter while they visit his sister in Florida. While out walking them in town one day (or should I say while they were walking him), he knocks over a beautiful woman. One he wants to get to know better even though his stay in Marietta is temporary.
Krista Martin is only interested in establishing her marketing business that she co-owns. Her goal is for her business to thrive and be successful. She doesn't have time for a romance. Especially with the holidays approaching. And she definitely doesn't have time to co-chair the town's Secret Santa charity organization with the gorgeous, sexy, successful Jonah Andrews. Or does she?
Jonah and Krista learn how to put pleasure before business. They learn how to trust in love and together with some bumps in the road their find their way to happily ever after. I truly loved the way these two showed their for each other in the end. I can't wait to read the next in the series. This was another sigh happy novel for me.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this novel given to me via Net Galley.*
This is a great addition to the Montana festive reads by a variety of authors that Tule are publishing this year. It involves the characters attending many of the events that are common to all the books - like the Christmas Stroll and the Christmas Ball - but it is also a great standalone story in its own right.
In this tale, Krista Martin is about to spend her second festive season in the town after starting up in a publicity business with a locally born friend. However, that same friend recently married and is now pregnant, so asks Krista to take over her role on the committee fir the secret Santa charity which tries to bring some festive joy into the lives of people who might otherwise miss out through no fault of their own.
Meanwhile, local nerd, genius and millionaire, Jonah Andrews has retuned home to look after the tree dogs belonging to his parents whilst they travel to help out his recently widowed sister and her children. He wasn't anticipating being involved with any charity committee but, after his dog walking almost injured Krista, he's quite happy to have an excuse to meet up with her again!
As the two work together to help fulfill the dreams of others, maybe Santa can work a little of his magic and her these two also find the miracle of love at Christmas!
I was gifted an ARC of this novel via NetGalley with no obligation or requirement to review it. This is my honest review after reading the ARC.
This book is part of the Montana festive reads by a variety of authors. IT can be read as a standalone and is a wonderful read. This book is a great read. It shows how although seem to feel like the grinch, they can still be turned into something more cheerful. I loved the bantering between Jonah and Krista. It keeps the story fun for me. This book will make you fell good about romance and the holidays! I can't wait to read more from this author.
Jonah and Krista make a great couple. Like how they finally get around to knowing what each other needs from the other.
Another tale giving the reader a glimpse in to the citizens of Marietta, Montana. Krista and Jonah are set to help with the Secret Santa and found love in the season of giving. Chocolate, Montana and cute pets are great combination with this Author who always delivers. This book can be read alone but all of these books are so much better read together to give a beautiful picture of Marietta.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks . Opinions are my own.
4.0 Star review of Montana Secret Santa (Love at the Chocolate Shop Book 3) by Debra Salonen
My favourite holiday of the year is Christmas; and I love stories about Christmas, throw in a small town and a love that is meant to be and you have A Wedding for Christmas.
Debra Salonen is a new author to me and I enjoyed my first taste of her writing in Montana Secret Santa, book 3 in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series. I have not read any of the other books in the series but that did not deter me from jumping at the chance to read this one. I was able to read and follow this book without difficulty or confusion.
The story was well written and captured my attention and although not a particularly long read, I enjoyed this story and I am going to go and get the other books in the series.
What’s a guy to do? When ad executive Krista Martin, literally falls at his feet, Jonah Andrews is instantly attracted. When fate plays into his hands and they both find themselves working together on the Marietta’s Secret Santa Society. Jonah is at a crossroads in his life and needs to make some decisions; he is also determined to get to know Krista. Krista on the other hand wants to focus on the belief that Jonah could be the one to help her put life back into her compay.
I liked getting to know the people of Marietta; the story had a feel good feeling about it, perhaps it’s because it is a small town, but it gave me a feeling of warmth, friendship and family. Maybe it is the idea of the Secret Santa that got to me but the fact that Krista and Jonah are working to make Christmas wishes come true was a great deal of fun.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review through the publisher and Netgalley
Delight entry in the Chocolate Shop series.
Krista Martin's partner Amanda's pregnancy forces Krista to become involved with Marietta's Secret Santa project.
The death of Joshua Andrews' brother-in-law has his parents going to Florida to be there for his sister and her children, leaving Joshua to take over his Secret Santa position.
As she tries to fit in all in, working her job and the Secret Santa ...she grows closer to Joshua, a geeky millionaire who just sold her latest company and is trying to find his next project. He is relationship shy after a few encounters with less than stellar women. They eventually get the job done and find their way to become a couple after some rocky times. I requested and received an ARC copy to peruse.
Cute Christmas romance story. Big city girl moves to a small town to start a business with her friend. Tech mogul small town guy returns home for a break. Fate pushes them together.
This is book 3 in the Love at the Chocolate Shop Series. Sadly, this is the first one I've read in the series. Even though most of the characters are from other books by this author and series, it really was a stand-alone book. I enjoyed the cute story that took place in Marietta, Montana. It was the perfect setting for a Christmas story.
I enjoyed the story as well as the Secret Santa storyline that helped out a person in need. Cute story! Look forward to the next book in the series.
Montana Secret Santa is the third book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series by Tule Publishing. This book is written by Debra Salonen. I always enjoy Salonen's books.
I really enjoyed Montana Secret Santa. It was a short sweet read that is perfect for the Christmas season. Both Krista and Jonah are people that I would enjoy knowing. I like that the Chocolate Shop series has continuing characters. I like the town of Marietta. It is an adorable town in the middle of one of the most scenic areas in the US.
Montana Secret Santa has everything a reader would want in a Christmas romance. Highly recommend for romance readers.
Krista has been working hard for the last 18 months and is satisfied with the way her life is going. Then she runs into Jonah or rather Jonah's dog runs into her. Jonah has sold his company for a ton of money and now he doesn't know what he is going to do with himself. He agrees to dog sit while his parents were with is sister in Florida. At least that will keep him busy for a little while. Then he and Bindi run into Krista. They are working together on the Secret Santa committee and they are attracted to each other but can't see it going anywhere as Jonah will probably be leaving in a month or so. Then Krista's crazy family came to Montana for Christmas. Krista's world has been turned upside down and Jonah has gone back to his home in California. What will she do without him and he is wondering what he will do without her.
As with all of Debra Salonen's characters, Jonah and Krista both have pasts that affect a lot that happens in their present. But the obvious chemistry between them draws them closer even though they try very hard not to get involved. Plus misguided family members are not always so helpful which causes Jonah to panic make a decision that he soon regrets. Stressed out by an unexpected family reunion Krista ends up doing pretty much the same thing but when she get some tragic news from her family, it causes her to reconsider the hesitation and doubt that rules her decisions about forming close relationships. A lovely Christmas story about find love and yes CHOCOLATE plays a big role.
The perfect addition to Love at the Chocolate Shop, what's not to love, Christmas, Chocolate , Dogs and of course a Romance. From their very first meeting, Krista and Jonah, falling down on the ice while Jonah was trying to walk the dogs, I fell in love with these characters. They co chair the Secret Santa Society, there is an instant chemistry which they try to fight off. Do they have the same wish in Santa's ear?
I highly recommend this book with a cup of Hot Chocolate ( I will just dream that it's from Sages).
I always look forward to books by Debra Salonen because I know that I am in for an wonderful romance in a delightful story.. Montana Secret Santa (Love at the Chocolate Shop, Book 3) was no different. The plot centers around a customer instead of an employee like the first two books in the series. I liked the expansion of characters, though I’m still waiting for the last and newest employee’s story. The connection to the Sky Mavericks is woven in seemingly easy which made catching up with some of them feelings like hearing from old dear friends.
Krista Martin is a newcomer while Jonah Andrews was raised in Marietta then left to pursue his extremely prosperous career. The contrast between these two characters is interesting and thought provoking. One is at loose ends now career wise and one is up and coming in her career. Also, there is a contrast between families, too. Jonah’s family has had their share of heartache but pull together, supporting one another. On the other hand, Krista’s family has self-centered drama seeking members. While we all have characteristics about our families that we would like to change this contrast puts it in perspective. That is what I love about Ms. Salonen’s books, I will be challenged to consider my actions in relationship to family and others. Montana Secret Santa is an entertaining book. After reading it you just might make you want to go out to help others whether it is Christmas or the middle of summer.
Take one feisty former New Yorker with a family full of actors and enough drama to begin their own tv series, have this lovely lady be used by a man who says he wants to marry her but really only wants a part in her mother’s next movie then walks away when that didn’t happen, mix in a best friend to start up a new business with far from the drama of family life then stir with some rambunctious dogs, one handsome genius and let simmer over holiday cheer, mainly sinfully delicious hot chocolate, and Secret Santa projects… what do you get? A delightful, funny, sad, heartbreaking, eye opening Christmas romance in Marietta, Montana where everyone knows your name and your business., but where everyone also has your back.
On this fateful morning, Krista is deep in thought on how to tell her partner in Big Sky Promotions and her best friend, Amanda that since she’s gotten married her part of the business has been well.. slacking. It’s not going to be an easy conversation and Krista is in thought mode as she exits the chocolate shop with her delicious, fortifying hot coco… and gets tangled up in a dog leash and saved from a serious fall by a handsome man. Fate is a strange beast. As it turns out, this stranger and Krista will be co-presidents of the Secret Santa project soon since Amanda, who is on that board, has an interesting announcement to make. Totally not what Krista wants to do, she’s got enough Christmas drama with her own family, let alone take on such a huge commitment. But as she’ll soon find out there are definite perks to be had taking par in this Secret Santa project, and Jonah might be the best one of all.
Jonah is a genius, an inventor, a dabbler and has recently sold his company for more zeroes than the national debt. He’s free at the moment, having recently been sued by a former girlfriend for not paying her enough attention… yeah, right. He’s returned home to Marietta for Christmas, to watch over his parent’s home and dogs while they head to his sister’s in Florida to help her deal with a tragic event. Somehow, thanks to mom and dad, he ends up being the new president of the Secret Santa project and quickly sees the chance to spend time with the lovely lady his pups knocked down by making Krista a co-president along side him. Who knows what could happen, but he’s open to suggestions.
I absolutely loved Montana Secret Santa. It’s the type of lighthearted romance with some serious touches that I’ve come to expect from Debra Salonen and she always delivers. Krista and Jonah have both been burned by past relationships. She was used to get a movie part, he was sued for being distracted by an invention. So while they may not be looking for anything but temporary, the fact is that the attraction is strong and only grows more so as they get to know each other through the Secret Santa projects they are working on.
As their relationship takes a serious turn, family will play a part in what happens next. One family member will be sure to point out all the negatives, the other’s numerous family members are descending on Marietta in hopes of a grand gesture Christmas that will have a very serious announcement at it’s closing. Jonah makes a decision to step out of the picture for the moment and let Krista have her family moments, since she seems to hesitate to have him included. That’s not what she wants at all, but he’s made the plans and she won’t stop him. Talk about miscommunication all around.. Yet, it’s also understandable. They are so new as a couple, they barely have time to think before family takes over everything.
When the dust settles, when the true reasons things happened are revealed this couple will end up closer than ever before. Life happens, and you either go with it or get out of its way. Krista and Jonah made their own future in their own unique way.
I would recommend Montana Secret Santa to any Romance reader no matter the genre. A realistic, believable couple, a lovely hometown Christmas and the craziness that makes family… well, family. It all comes together in a lovely Christmas package that I’m certain you’d enjoy. I know I did.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this novel. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this story.*
A sweet heart-felt story with a great message.
Krista Martin is forced into helping Marietta’s Secret Santa Society when her business partner ends up pregnant and is told by her doctor that she needs more rest. Krista wasn’t in the Christmas spirit this year but when she found out Jonah Andrews, Marietta’s own tech genius turned millionaire, was going to be co-chairing with her, she figured she might be able to get a little free business advice from him.
Jonah didn’t have volunteering in his plans when he returned to Marietta, he thought he was just going to house sit and take care of his parents dogs while they were away in Florida. But when he finds out the Secret Santa Society needs his help and fresh ideas, he decides why not. It is for a good cause after all.
Together Krista and Jonah come up with plans to help families in need and bring them some happiness during Christmas. They also find themselves falling in love even though they both know the holiday season is not a good time to begin a relationship.
The detailed writing about the main characters as well as catching up with characters from previous books, makes this book one not to be missed. Everything is written out so well, you can picture being there, sipping hot cocoa and reminiscing with old (and new) friends. The mischievous dogs were a fun addition to the story too.
This is a delightful little story of two people who get roped into helping out a secret Santa project in the magical town of Marietta. Krista's not too happy until she learns that the dog walking guy she just met is Jonah Andrews, wildly successful entrepreneur. Hoping he can give her some tidbits of advice to help get her business going again. Jonah knows what Krista really wants from him but he's certain he's seen glimpses of a sweet woman who secretly dreams of a life with love and family. He plans on getting to know that woman real well!
A recommended read!
Debra Salone has written a great holiday novella in Montana Secret Santa. Krista Martin is spending her second Christmas in Marietta, Montana. She is part owner in Blue Sky Advertizing along with her best friend Amanda. However, Amanda has recently married and is now expecting her first child and is being forced to rest due to complications, leaving Krista to worry about their bottom line.
Jonah Andrews, a young inventor and entrepreneur, has recently returned to Marietta to house sit and take care of his parents’ dogs. He has sold his last business and made quite a profit. Returning home has given Jonah time to think about what his next project will be. Jonah meets Krista outside the chocolate shop when one of the dogs tangles her leash with Krista’s legs causing her to fall. What starts out with a tangled leash leads to more tangles between Krista and Jonah.
Both Krista and Jonah are enlisted to be the co-chairs of the Secret Santa Society, a local group that fills Christmas wishes that are sent to the group. Krista sees this Secret Santa group as an opportunity to expand the contacts for her business and a chance to help expand her friend’s chocolate business if she can find a way to package them well enough. To add to the stress of the season, Krista’s difficult family has decided to come to Marietta for Christmas, an idea that has Krista dreading the holidays. Will she be able to make it through the family affair? Krista and Jonah find they can work very well together but where will all this lead? Krista loves Marietta but Jonah lives in California. What will the Holidays bring them?
This is a Holiday novella that can bring the reader some Holiday joy with all the warm characters of Marietta. Filled with love of family, friends, and neighbors, forgiveness and understanding, Debra has created characters that are well developed. The story line is creative and entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Tule Publishing with no obligation to review it. This is my honest review after reading.
Krista Martin had just not been getting into the Christmas spirit yet this holiday season but when she has a a run in with tech genius Jonah Andrews then finds the pair signed up to co-chair Marietta’s Secret Santa Society Krista finds herself slowly finding the holiday spirit.
Montana Secret Santa is the third book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series. Each book can be read as a standalone since they all feature different couples. But the setting in this series is one that carries over many different series as it takes place in the lovely small town of Marietta, Montana so you do get a glimpse of the holiday events and some previous characters from this and other series set in this town.
Marietta is such a charming place that I would find it very hard to dislike any book taking place there especially during the holiday season with all the events going on. But with this particular couple I found myself taking a bit of time warming up to Krista and Jonah. Perhaps it was both of them being so business orientated or some other delay but this one started off a bit slow to me.
In the end I decided to give it 3.5 stars, still a nice little holiday read in a lovely town but it just took me a bit longer to fall in love with this couple than it normally does for me.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
Montana Secret Santa comes with all the trademark warmth lovers of Debra Salonen's stories have come to expect. Third in the Love At The Chocolate Shop series, this story is just as enjoyable to read as a stand-alone novel as it is when read in sequence. If you've been reading the various Montana Born books set in and around the quaint little town of Marietta you'll find plenty of familiar names and places, all of which add extra depth and richness. I also love the theme of giving which features strongly in all the Love At The Chocolate Shop stories. That and a little Christmas magic combined with a heartwarming romance between two characters I couldn't help but like have made this story a joy to read.
Montana Secret Santa by Debra Salonen is the third book in the Love At The Chocolate Shop series, having its share of entertaining moments portrayed throughout the story.
Review copy received from Tule Publishing via Netgalley
This is my first read by the author and it just wasn't for me. The book description sounded good but the story never really took off for me and wasn't able to capture my interest.
Krista Martin is a young, independent female advertising executive who has no interest in a relationship at all. Her parents are famous in the entertainment industry and she has grown weary of dealing with her parents’ drama and dealing with potential boyfriends who just see her as a way of getting a leg up on their acting careers. She relocated to small town Marietta to get away from New York. Jonah Andrews is a technological genius who doesn’t have good luck with relationships. Jonah and Krista get thrown together as Co-chairs on the Secret Santa Society. Will Santa bring them more than they bargained for this year?
I loved this. If you follow me at all, you’ll know that I love a good Christmas Romance. The fluffier the better. This one had the lovable supporting characters that make me chuckle. I loved how the dogs were pulled in as their own little characters. While this book wasn’t the best I’ve ever read in this genre, it was an absolutely enjoyable quick read. If you love this type of book, pick it up. This is part of a series by different authors, and I plan on picking up a few more of these so I can get to know some more of these characters. I give this a 4 out of 5.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Christmas, Chocolate, and romance what more can you ask for in a Christmas story. Krista and Jonah are co-chairs of the Secret Santa Society, a local group that fills Christmas wishes that are sent to the group. Will Santa grant both Krista’s and Jonah’s wish? Can the holiday bring together two people who have so much going on in their lives? A heart-warming story that will make you believe in Santa. A must-read if you are looking for a holiday inspired read.
MONTANA SECRET SANTA is the third book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series. This is a wonderful series, all by different authors. Each story can be read as a stand alone but if you are like me, you have to read a series in order no matter what. This story is all about Krista Martin and Jonah Andrews. I just love this series and MONTANA SECRET SANTA is a wonderful addition to a great idea from Tule Publishing.
Krista is not from Marietta but she recently moved there from New York City. She moved there for her best friend Amanda with the offer of a job at Blue Sky Advertising. Amanda is newly married and when she gets pregnant, Krista has to take on most of the responsibilities as Amanda's doctor has ordered her to take it easy. This is how Krista finds herself taking over Amanda's spot on the Secret Santa committee and working with the very handsome and sexy Jonah. Jonah is a tech superstar and is loaded. He finds himself taking care of his parents dogs while they are away. They are both instantly attracted to each other and wonder how they can be together when Jonah lives in California and Krista lives in Montana. Hold on to your seats, it's going to be a crazy ride!!
MONTANA SECRET SANTA is filled with laugh out loud funny moments and lots of chocolate of course. There is plenty of romance and some very serious situations that effect both Krista and Jonah. The characters in this heart warming story are very real and relatable. Will Krista and Jonah just stay friends or will they be able to figure out how to take it to the next level? You have to read this awesome holiday tale to find out. I love learning more and more about all the people in Marietta Montana and can't wait to catch up with them again.
I love Christmas romances and can't get enough of them. I truly enjoyed this book. It was very sweet and romantic.
Krista and her friend Amanda run a Blue Sky Productions together. Now that Amanda is married and her attention is more on her personal life than on work, she's also pregnant. Amanda is suppose to take things easy, so Krista has to take the lead in the company and also taker part of the Secret Santa Society instead of Amanda. Jonah is back in Marietta because he came to take care of the dogs and the house while his parents go to Florida to help her sister deal with difficult times. Jonah is a technical genius who recently sold his business and has time to figure what he wants to do in his life next. Jonah and Krista meet while Jonah is walking the dogs and one of the dog's leashes gets tangled in Krista's legs. They are both in Secret Santa Society which brings them together quite often and it doesn't take long to get attracted to each other. Do they stand a future together with all the differences they may face?
It's the third installment in the series and even though I haven't read them in order, I didn't feel I missed something in the story. It's a great story with kind characters-it was a pleasure to read.
So far this has been my favorite of the Love at the Chocolate Shop books. Krista and Jonah have just the right blend of quirky, fun, struggling, and angst. Krista is the only one of her large family that is not in the entertainment industry and feels it keenly. Jonah is a nerd, a geek, and a very smart man unless we're talking about women. Then he's not very smart. And something not smart at all? Falling in love over the holidays.
When Krista and Jonah are roped into co-chairing the Secret Santa Society, some serious hijinks occur. But the fun starts with their meeting: Krista getting upended by Bindi (one of the adopted dogs from A Thankful Heart.
The three dogs - Bindi, River Jack, and Bear - are just full of energy and love and Jonah must dogsit all three for his parents over the holidays. They get into all sorts of stunts, especially Bindi, and enliven the story a great deal. They always provide a laugh or ten, followed by an "aaawwww" or five.
With the impending disaster of Krista's family visit and the sad disaster of Jonah's family's loss, plus the struggle to fund and grant the wishes for the Secret Santa Society, there was plenty of action, plenty of angst, and plenty of ways to get things wrong. But it was a fun trip to getting things right.
I thought that this was a good story with solid characters. It wasn't a book that you could guess the ending and it had a few twists and turns - 5 stars from me for this one!
Krista had to tell her best friend Amanda and business partner that she had become substandard , uninspired and had adequate amour with a big cup of cocoa . Krista had created Blue Sky Promotions.Since Krista moved to Montana none of her family members bothered to visit her. Her mother was a producer/screenwriter.Krista was the only one in her family that wasn’t in the entertainment business. Krista’s family drives her insane when they are together. Normally Krista was too busy to care but it hurt her at holiday time. But now Krista had to tackle the business with her best friend. Amanda. It had been pretty fantastic to start a business with Amanda. Amanda bought her local contacts and Krista had a lot of connections of both coasts When Krista had got cocoa and started to walk to her office then a dog barged into Krista . The man was walking three dogs Bindi, River Jack and Bear.as he was watching the dogs for his mother. Jonah’s parents had went to Florida to try to help his sister and her kids as his sister was now a widow. The man’s name was Jonah Jonah was also to take his parents as a Secret Santa volunteer.Secret Santa fills wishes that are sent to the group. Emily wanted Jonah to take over as President of the Secret Santas and get Krista on board as his VP. Jonah was intrigued by Krista and Jonah was definitely attracted to Krista. Then Krista found out Amanda was pregnant and that was why she had been dragging at work she was a lot more tired and wanted to nap. But didn't want to lose her place in the company and wanted t make sure she had a place there after the baby was born, Jonah had just sold his company for a lot of money. Christa does co-chair with Jonah for the Secret Santa Society. Sparring with Krista every morning at the Secret Santa meetings was the most fun Jonah had in a long time. Then Krista’s family decides to come visit for Christmas. Neither Krista nor Jonah want a relationship and Jonah lives and has his lab in Silicon Valley in California. Neither really have time or energy for a relationship. Krista had an ex boyfriend she thought might be the one he said he wanted to marry him but really only wanted a part in her mother’s nest movie. Then he walked away when that didn’t happen so she is leery of men and being hurt again. As they spend more time the closer they get and the greater the attraction gets for both of them. Jonah has an obsession when he works and he had lost his last girlfriend because of it he even took him to court for not taking care of her sexually.. . Will a long distance relationship work for Jonah and Krista?
I enjoyed this story a lot. It was a novella but still had everything it needed for the story to be complete. The plot was very good and it was an easy read. But it started a little slow but I don’t really believe it took away from the story. I loved the dogs hi jinks they added a lot to the story. I laughed a lot and out loud and that is always good. I loved how Jonah took time out of his life to dog sit the three dogs, I enjoyed the slow burning romance between Krista and Jonah. Also could Krista and Jonah manage a relationship while online. I did love the characters and the in and outs of this story and I recommend.
