The second book in an intriguing and original alternate history series. Now that the main characters and settings have been introduced, the action really takes off with Mixcoatl having to deal with his superiors turning traitor and Fergus, the conniving and ambitious Irish priest scheming to turn the situation to his advantage. Excellent plotting and characterisation - this one will run and run. Looking forward to part 3!
