Excellent little book and such fun. The patterns don't look too difficult and I will now be working furiously to make the voodoo doggies, gadget covers and mug sleeves for Christmas presents for friends and family and their grumpy (and happy) moggies.
Fantastic book, and what a great cover. There must be so much love for Grumpy Cat it makes you wonder why Grumpy is so Grumpy! The book contains knitting ideas for yourself and for your grumpy feline friend…..but if they are really grumpy why bother, just knit the things for yourself! Patterns are great and instructions are great. I’m off to knit my own grumpy cats some grumpy toys! If you’re a cat fan buy it and learn to knit, if you’re a knitting fan buy it and buy a cat while you’re at it…either way you’ll love it!
It should be obvious why I requested this book. A) Knitting! B) GRUMPY CAT! What's not to love, right?
I figured this was going to be cat-related patterns, including charted images for patterns featuring grumpy cat. What I did not expect in the least was pictures of Grumpy Cat wearing the knitted objects.
YOU GUYS.
If you love Grumpy Cat but don't knit, you need this book. If you knit, but don't care about Grumpy Cat (you monster), you need this book.
The patterns are fun, and fresh, and varied. The pictures are giggle worthy.
Why are you still reading this instead of going to get the book?
This was irresistably cute. Grumpy Cat has become popular as an Internet meme and this book gives several patterns for putting his iconic face on sweaters, assessory cases and household items as well as patterns to dress up your cat in hats and scarves or to make him toys! There's a plush Grumpy cat, a human hat with his ears and a cat scarf with knitted head and tail to take your own grumpy cat out in cold weather and give him something to complain about.
The patterns are not overly complicated and should be no problem for a medium level knitter. I'm wondering if the cat cowl might even be useful for shorthaired cats who want to go outside despite cold winter weather, in supervised conditions of course. I'm sure a free roaming cat would waste no time in losing it!
The style of the cat bed particularly appeals to me, especially as the chances of my cat's hair getting knitted into it while I make it are very high. There are sixteen patterns for cute and useful items which doesn't seem like a lot, but they are unique and adorable and I expect to make several of them!
One of the cutest how to books I have ever read. Not only do I want to engage all of these projects, but my son has decided he would like to also. How would have thought it would be a mother-son bonding experience. . Also Posted on Amazon and Twitter.
If you like Grumpy Cat, you will love this book! Very cute patterns that are easy to read with great pictures and charts.
This book is great! It will appeal to Grumpy cat lovers & all cat lovers. The patterns are fun and look easy to follow. As a knitter, I saw quite a few that I would like to knit. What a fun book!
I loved the cute quirky patterns, though there were more patterns for cats then I was expecting.

First a disclaimer. Being a cat, I do not have opposable thumbs therefore I cannot knit, sew or crochet. Being that Momma has ten thumbs and is a klutz, neither can she. Neither of us has been able to test the patterns in the book but we can look at the designs.
If mew are a fan of Grumpy Cat, as we are, mew will find the projects anything but miserable. They are adorable and sweet and I wish Momma was less of a klutz because I might have rethought my anti-clothing stance. They are that cute.
I give this book five purrs and two(opposable thumbless) paws up.
Grumpy Cat's Knitting Nightmares by Grumpy Cat was a surprise for me to find since cats and yarn often do not play well together. I know this from personal experience. Grumpy acts like some people I know. What an attitude! I've seen him around on the internet for some time now, but I was surprised to find that he was a fellow knitter! The Grumpy Cat is at it again. Knitting usually improves my mood but apparently not Grumpy Cat's. That said, this is an entertaining book that includes some really cute to knit cat approved patterns for accessories and toys such as the Lousy Mouse. I think the stuffed Grumpy Cat would be a lot of fun to knit for my sister who has been a big cat lover since childhood. The illustrations are humorous. Grumpy is at his best posing in his hand knits. He looks especially ill-tempered in his No-Way Cowl. He even has some grumpy collars. The gadget holder pattern is sized for a smartphone as well as a tablet with Grumpy's face and ears the highlight. The final pattern is a seamed sweater with sizes for children and adults that has a big Grumpy Cat face knitted across the front.
If you love Grumpy Cat or any cat and love to knit this book is for you.
Have the crafting skills and a love of internet memes? The new book, Grumpy Cat's Knitting Nightmares, combines both. This book collects multiple projects featuring the famous face of Grumpy Cat herself. Included are a wealth of scarves, device covers, and other nifty craft projects. There are craft projects to give to both your human friends and pets as well. The guide is filled with images of finished projects and patterns to help you make them.
Grumpy Cat's Knitting Nightmares is now available from from Dover Publishing.
Fun and clever pattern book. I found the pattern directions to be clear and patterns in a good range of difficulty - something for every level. Photos and captions added to the fun. I will give these a try! Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
A fun collection of knits perfect for any fan of Grumpy Cat. (However, if you're not a fan of Grumpy Cat, I'd probably give this collection a miss, as there aren't likely to be very many patterns you'd be interested in).
The patterns are all well laid out with good instructions and clear charts and diagrams where relevant. As a minor (k)nitpick I would have liked to see the patterns list weight of yarn used, instead of just specific yarn brands - that would make it easier to substitute yarn. Happily it does list yardage though, so between that and the gauge, you're pretty well off regardless.
Grumpy Cat - the beloved internet sensation knows that no cat lover can go without publicizing their adoration for their feline idols. Luckily for us humans, there is this new book full of projects for ourselves and our feline friends. If you can knit, this book is for you. Many of the projects are easy enough that even beginning knitters will be pleased with the results. The instructions are clearly written - a must for any craft book. Yarn suggestions are included as well.
Whether you are looking to create feline wearables for yourself or to make toys and accessories for your cats, Grumpy Cat’s Knitting Nightmares is a great selection.
