What a fantastic and fun little book! I have always been a big fan of pom poms but I have always used the cardboard circle method, which can be a bit fiddly particularly for small pom poms. This book shows that there are also other, much simpler ways to make a pom pom. The projects are fun and different. I would never have thought of using pom poms to decorate a cake or drinking straws. I'm off to make pom pom bookmarks and paperclips!
Another one of Dover's visually appealing craft books filled with easy-to-follow how-to photographs in a pleasing color palette. For the whimsically inclined, this book will show you how to adorn office, party, headbands, and room decor with pompoms . Most items needed are easily found around your home. However, a few things will occasion a trip to the market or hardware store.
This book has some great pompom crafts, several of which looked interesting to make. I have a pompom maker and was thinking that this would be a quick way to get some handmade presents done quickly.
Make In A Day: Pompom Crafts is cute new craft book containing fifteen quick and easy projects all including pompoms! Penned by blogger Victoria Hudgins, the projects range from homeware updates such as cushions and tea towels, to party decorations and even office supplies!
Ideas like the Pompoms for Pillows (as shown on the cover) could be perfect if you’re looking to make some last-minute Christmas gifts this year, and the Pompom Party Garland would look great in festive colours if you want to have a go at making some thrifty decorations! I also think that projects such as the Pompom Bunnies could be great for kids to get involved in making too.
Throughout the book there are large colour photographs of the finished products as well as clear step-by-step images. The clean layout makes the tutorials very easy to follow and you don’t need to be an experienced crafter to create any of the projects in the book, making it perfect for beginners.
If you’re looking for quick and fun projects to try out Make In A Day: Pompom Crafts may be a nice little addition to your bookshelf.
If you are looking for a fun and easy craft for a weekend project, this book has some simple and unique ideas that involve all sorts of pompoms. There are detailed and easy to follow instructions with many gorgeous photos to compliment each project. There are ideas ranging from simple bookmarks to cake decorations and if you are planning a party, this craft book does contain quite a few inexpensive and interesting party decorating ideas. While I did find this book enjoyable, I do believe that this would be a perfect crafting book for tweens. The projects are very simple and I was expecting some more elaborate ideas for my own decorating and gift giving projects. Also, the author suggests the purchase of different sized pompom makers and I felt that this was unnecessary, as there are so many do-it-yourself pompom making ideas out there.
Pom poms, I am going to make a ton of pom poms! This book was super creative and super simple to follow along.
So full of color, designs, and techniques. I love adding pom poms to items and it was so nice to see them added to items unlike hats. Very neat book overall
This is really aimed at someone who's never made a pom pom in there life, the projects are really basic and would take a matter of minutes. There are some cute ideas, but all of them use a pom pom maker which I find a little ridicules, there so easy to make that you don't need a pom pom maker.
I really enjoyed this book and the different ways of making pompoms featured were great! The book is easy to follow and they can be made by all ages, including children with the right supervision. I particularly liked the pompom bunnies, they are an excellent way of using up your left over wool. 4 stars from me.
