This was a peculiar book. Levi is a refreshing change from the "Heroes" of most of the books that I have read this year. The ones who through poor parenting skills on the part of their parents or loss of loved ones, that decide that they are not willing to invest their heart in love because it will only cause pain. He owns his family's farm and works very hard. Ten years ago his parents and siblings were killed by a drunk driver. Aside from his cousins and ranch hands, he is all alone on the farm and is lonely. He wants what his parents had- a loving wife and children. I would love this man for my son in law, but my daughter is not going to meet someone like him in Manhattan. Erika is one of his cousin. Her neighbor and friend, Candy, hooked her up with a job at the call center that she works at. Candy is a city girl. We don't know what city. All we know about her is that she has several brothers and sisters. And she believes that she can pick the man she is meant to be with by his kiss. Erika has fixed Candy up with several of her male cousins, but nothing clicked. The story begins with her setting up Levi and Candy. The date doesn't go so well, but Levi believes in love at first sight and he believes that Candy is meant to be his wife. He convinces her to come see his farm- a 2 hour trip. Candy also feels for him, but keeps having self doubts that could sabotage their relationship. A lot happens during the weekend involving friends and relatives constantly walking into Levi's house uninvited, a medical emergency, and a helicopter ride. The peculiar thing in the book is that one of Levi's cousins accuses him of not letting go of the past and keeping all of them from finding love.
Candy's Kisses by Carys Weldon is the steamiest, hottest, and sweetest romance ever. The characters will leaves readers swooning faster than they can blink. Sex appeal plays a high role in this read. A smoking hot country boy and a city girl meet at a bar. Due to the urging of a cousin/ best friend, they meet. When they do, the instant chemistry smolder into hot flames. Sexy, irresistible, and exciting. Never a boring moment in this book. Love is hard. Candy isn't the kind to go sleeping around...and neither is Levi. But he's hooked after that first kiss. However, she leaves him waiting for her and Candy doesn't return...so, he goes to her. Thinking she lost interest. But her eyes say the opposite. They go to his farm, where the cowboy lures her into his heart and bed. But is it just hot sex or more? Carys Weldon will keep her readers reading through the night. Every page is engaging. Torn between staying or leaving, Candy will have to decide what's best. Levi is the kind of man all women want in their beds and in their lives forever. Candy's Kisses is a tug of war erotic romance that will hook readers instantly. I definitely fell in love with this tale. Overall, I recommend this romance to all.
Candy's Kisses is fun, erotic--. The beginning didn't hold much attention for me, but after a few chapters, I was able to get more emotionally invested in it, mainly because I wanted to see where it would go.
Overall it was an okay book; however I don't feel as if it was completely developed or I felt like something was missing
Love this funny/emotional read. There's certain moments in the book I would laugh or smile. Candy and Levi met on a blind date set up by her best friend. They have nothing in common since she's a city girl and he's a farm boy. As they spend time together they realize they can offer each something they both need. Levi has secrets and Candy has insecurities but once they realize they can't live without each they trust in their love. I would love to see books about the other characters in the book. Recommended read.
This is an ok book, totally unbelievable. I just could not really believe that in one weekend 2 people that have nothing in common fall in love and move in together. Then you have all the things that do happen that weekend, Audrey who is Levi's pregnant friend has a fit because candy was at his home and he had sex with her. What?! Who was she to decide when she was pregnant with his enemy's baby. Jack was right, he was actually funny, he said how it was. Danny was sweet, and that is actually who Candy should have been with in my opinion. I did like her friend Erica. However, if she was my friend had humiliated me like she did by telling all my guy cousins about the kiss thing, I would have killed her. Anyway besides the sex, Levi and Candy really did not talk much, and she gave up everything for a Neanderthal.
I just finished reading the book "Candy's Kisses." I enjoyed the book very much, and I would highly recommend it to my friends. All of the characters in the book are unique and have a pivotal role in this book. They weave in and out of the lives of the two main characters, adding to and and detracting from their chance of romance. There are sexual scenes in the book, but it is not over the top. I liked the fact that the woman is portrayed as a strong woman, able to voice her own opinions, and not dependent on a man. However, she also very much wanted the traditional family, with a husband and children. The main male character was portrayed as both confident, hard working, yet tender and loving. He was close to his family, but held a grudge against those who he felt had caused great pain to his family. The author did a nice job of allowing the reader to watch the male slowly realize how much this grudge and anger was affecting his life - it didn't happen over night, but he did get to a better place. I think all of us have something that we are holding on to that we would like to get over, and this book emphasized that it is possible, with the help of family and good friends. Overall, this was an enjoyable book. It was easy to read, had great characters and kept me interested until the very last page.. I enjoy books that portray positive, healthy sexual relations between a man and a woman, and this book did not disappoint. If you enjoy these types of books again - this book is for you - take a look! You won't be disappointed!
Excellent book for readers interested in light romance. Not alot of angst or what I like to call "rollercoaster romance!"
Its hard to write a review for this book- sometimes I liked it, sometimes it annoyed me, & sometimes I just didn't get it. But I kept reading so that says something I guess. I think it could have used a lot more editing- some things were repeated 2 or 3 times on one page. I think if it had more editing the story would be a lot smoother & more enjoyable
All in all- not bad.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
