Description
Before you open your eyes or say a word each morning, a few precious moments have the potential to place you on the pathway of peace and hope. Make these seconds count. They are more important than you can even imagine!
In Wake Up Smiling, Audrey shares her very personal journey of taking three simple Bible verses and believing them in a way that some may say is outrageous. Living heaven on earth has become very real for her, and every morning she wakes up with hope. If you’re ready to live, dream, and experience freedom from worry and fear, Jesus really is as close as the mention of His name. He’s waiting to share His secrets with those who will abandon all and say, “I am ready.”
God has a recipe for hope for you. It is practical, it will turn your life around, and it starts as you wake up.

Not gonna lie. The peppiness of the first few readings had me questioning if I wanted to continue, but "smiling" is in the title, after all, and besides, my mornings are pretty hum drum, and I was hoping these devotionals would be a good way to start my day. Though I'm not usually one for devotionals, I've been giving a few a try over the last several months, and darn it if the positivity in this book didn't rub off on me just a bit. This book has forty devotionals, a great length to take a bit over a month to focus on making a great day by starting it off right. I loved Audrey's personal journey and how she weaves the verses into the lesson. The "life application" section of each day to think of ways to practically apply the lessons of each day's devotional. It's made me at least examine my morning each day and many days it's made for a good day. Definitely check it out if you need some happiness in your mornings and devotional.
At the end of the book it says that Meisner's heartfelt message to women is to combat self-destructive thoughts of regret and shame and receive and display God’s unconditional love , forgiveness, and smile on their lives.
What an awesome ambition and this book should help us achieve this goal.
I enjoyed this book and would wake up looking forward to reading that day's section. I can easily see myself re-reading this book in the future.
My only concern is the version of the bible that is used, The Passion Translation. This is not a well known version and on checking it out does not appear to be a reliable version.
I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary review.
