I flew through this story, and it was cute. There wasn't much characterization, and I found it frustrating that the whole plot could have been resolved by them having a simple conversation. A better conflict might be with the his parents accepting their relationship and struggling to have a relationship themselves with their surviving son. I would have liked more description, especially leading up to when he walks her to her apartment after that first ride home. It didn't seem like there was enough chemistry between the characters at that point. The more I read, the better it got and I really liked the way the characters interacted by the epilogue.
Every Breath You Take offers a lovely mix of sweet and sexy tied up in a short contemporary read. This story is set in London and features Piper, whose fiance died in a motorcycle crash five years earlier and Mason, older brother of Piper's former fiance Colton.
The sexual attraction between these two is palpable, yet this is tempered by the guilt that both Piper and Mason feel over Colton's death, Piper because she broke off her engagement with Colton immediately before he crashed, and Mason because he gave Colton the keys to his bike.
Despite their growing feelings for each other, feelings which germinated from an instant attraction when they first met five years earlier, each feels the other is only interested in a fling. I really enjoyed watching them work through their issues and discover their happy ending.
Quick read. Another story where the hero and heroine should have talked to each other instead of keeping things inside. A bit of an improbable beginning, but good story.

I liked this second chance romance. Piper and Mason have history and it is that history that stands in the way of their future. Will they move forward or lose their chance at happiness?
I liked the characters but I needed more to this story. I wish it was longer.
I am quickly becoming a Christina Phillips fangirl. Her stories are always sexy, romantic and interesting, and Every Breath You Take is no exception. Piper's boyfriend was killed five years ago in an accident, and she feels guilty for his passing She's feel even more guilty for having wanted his brother, Mason, since she met him more than five years ago. They meet up again on the anniversary of the death, and things quickly turn into an unexpected night of amazing sex. Mason has wanted Piper just as long as she has wanted him, but he feels guilty and has also never felt like he measures up to his brother. What they both thought would be just one night together turns into much more, but the ghost of Mason's brother remains a complication they might not be able to get around. Mason and Piper are electric together, and Every Breath You Take is an emotional, entertaining and wonderful read.
What’s it About? Mason Hunter and Piper Thomas have a history together. Mason was her bad boy fantasy when she was a teenager and she was the girl Mason’s brother was supposed to marry had he not died. When Mason and Piper are face to face again five years later, their chemistry is off the charts and Piper offers him one night with her which he eagerly accepts. The two of them can’t get enough of each other but they both believe that anything more is impossible because of their shared tragedy and the guilt they both carry around.
Overall reaction to the story? Okay so Every Breath You Take is a short erotic story (Only 13 chapters) but it packs quite a bit into that small time frame. While most of Mason and Piper’s relationship revolves around sex, there are a few moments in between where they start to deal with the death of Mason’s brother and the guilt they have been carrying around. I liked the story; it was the perfect way to pass a few hours in between tedious household chores. Mason and Piper were enjoyable characters though they did tend to want to fall on their metaphorical swords when the topic of Mason’s brother came up. Piper had a twin sister, Peyton who was a single mom but had more of a sense of humor than Piper and I wouldn’t mind seeing Peyton again since she seems to have more than a few secrets concerning her son.
Click It or Skip It? Click It. Every Breath You Take is short, hot, and fun. Perfect for those “In Between” moments where you have a short break.
Dealing with loss, guilt and moving forward is at the heart of Every Breath You Take by Christina Phillips. While it is definitely a steamier romance than I am used to from Tule Publishing it still does a marvelous job of diving deeper than just a hot romance.
The feelings of both Mason and Piper are explored as they act on their attraction when both still have strong feelings for Mason’s late brother and Piper’s former fiancé. Because of this he is like the third person in this story now, since his death is a hindrance to the new relationship. I find their story to be authentic since my own family has a grandmother who married her late husband’s brother. Though the events were different it is interesting to explore the emotions that the couple must go through in this kind of situation. It is a provocative character driven story.
A good, quick read. Knocked this over in a couple of hours. A little escapism at the end of a long couple of weeks. Just what I needed!
I received this book from the publisher for an honest and complete review.
In this short and fast paced contemporary romance by Christina Phillips we get to look at what happens when a hot tattooed bad boy meets and falls for his "perfect" brother's "prefect" girlfriend. But what would happen if that brother died, as Mason's brother did?
Years later, guilt ridden unnecessarily, both girlfriend and bad boy brother meet again and an unresistable force pull them together.
The typical misunderstandings occur and the two end up facing their biggest obstacle to happiness-theirselves. But don't worry a happy ending is in store for the magnetic couple and it's one that leaves you feeling good.
The plot was, as I've mentioned, fast paced and enjoyable. I liked Piper and Mason's exchanges even if they were cringe worthy at times.
Could have been a little longer with Piper dealing with her own problems with her overly rich parents, but overall it was a fun romp.

Every year on the date of Colton’s death, Piper meets with his parents to remember the man she was to marry, the man who died in a tragic accident that Piper still has such guilt over. She knows why he was out driving recklessly that night, and it’s slowly eating away at her spirit. This year Mason, Colton’s brother shows up at the remembrance day, even though he’s not been there once before. Mason carries his own guilt over his brother’s death for he knew he’d had no business on the back of a bike in the emotional state he’d been in.. but he hadn’t stopped Colton, and that will give him no peace.
Every Breath You Take is an erotic second chance story of two people who should have been together years ago. They’d each had feelings for the other but a brother changed all that could have been back then. Piper and Mason had the chance for one night, one night to get each other out of their system and move on… only, life rarely works the way we think it will. A second chance at what might have been, the easing of guilt that was heavily misplaced on each of them – Colton made his choice, he paid the price – finally is put to rest and love can find the way.
This story is a quick, very heated steamy romance with a bittersweet underlying romance. I enjoyed my time with Piper and Mason. And perhaps at some point we’ll have Piper’s twin sister’s story told.
It’s hot, it’s steamy and it’s emotionally touching – if you love these aspects of sizzling romance then Every Breath You Take is perfect for you.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Forbidden love. Piper was the rich good girl and Mason was the bad boy who had a thing for his brother’s girlfriend. So what happens when his brother is no longer around will Piper and Mason give in to their desires? After five years and loads of guilt will these two be able to work through the burdens they are each carrying in order to come together? This was a good fast read that gave you plenty of hotness. It also had you thinking about being able to forgive yourself.
I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for a freely given and honest review.
I really enjoyed this super hot and sexy second-chance romance. My only complaint is that I wish it was just a tiny bit longer. I think every girl has had a thing for a bad boy at one point in time. :)
This is a sweet and sexy romance short story. The chemistry between the characters is hot and very believable. This author has a fab way of giving you a steamy story while going deeper into the romance. Fantastic characters you will fall in love with as you read. I really enjoyed this story and couldn't put this book down till I'd finished it. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.
Highly recommended
