A fabulous read by Doreen Alsen. Having not been familiar with her books I was intrigued as to how the story would develop. I certainly wasn't is appointed, the characters came to life and you could imagine yourself being in all the locations mentioned. Vivid, colourful and romantic, what more can you ask for. A must read!

While I liked the story, I didn't particularly care for the descriptive sex scenes and f-bombs.

Angelique Durand had been a very successful model who had traveled the world until she was arrested for a crime she didn't commit and whose face was badly injured by a photographer trying to get a photo. The permanent scar on her face ruined her chance of modeling again and she just needed to disappear for a while to figure out what she wanted to do.

Tim Baldwin was a Pulitzer winning photographer who had been kidnapped by ISIS while in Iraq on assignment and was tortured and scheduled to be beheaded like his colleagues until a last minute rescue by a team of SEALS saved his life. He had come to a small town on the Maine coast to deal with the disabling PTSD he was suffering from.

The first time he saw "Angie" on the beach, he was floored by her beauty and grace. He wanted to pick up his camera and capture her beauty; something he hadn't been able to do since returning from Iraq. But, they were both wounded and damaged souls who felt unworthy and unwilling to trust and love. Was it possible that love could heal them?

I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
