Situations filled with a wide variety of circumstances can be found all throughout HER BABY, HIS LOVE, where realism makes every single moment believable. There are instances that made me laugh, while other happenings tugged at my heart. The main couple in the story may be unalike in many ways, yet they both feel rather alone and would secretly like to be with someone special. Lynne Marshall takes two individuals on a journey packed with highs and lows, and I was deeply touched by each of the conceivable events.

Even though Taylor Clark had only been dating her boyfriend for two months, their relationship was one which she thought might finally end up lasting. Yet he turned out to be just another liar when she learns he is marrying someone else. Feeling hurt and dejected, Taylor decides to put memories of the deceitful cheater behind her by moving to Montana where she has found work because of her nursing degree. Upon arriving in a quaint town named Charity, she only wants to fit in and perhaps be happy.

After too many disastrous incidents with men in her past, Taylor feels avoiding all of them is for the best. Yet she keeps interacting with one particular man living in the town, and Joe Collins leaves her flustered yet intrigued. He is attracted to her, yet the ex-con plans to keep those feelings to himself, at least for a time. But with them continuously being around each other, they grow closer. When Taylor finds out her previous relationship resulted in a pregnancy, she is stunned and certainly in need of a friend, and Joe is more than willing to be there for her.

When life’s plans do not go as expected, a person often has to make some drastic choices. Taylor has made a big mistake which causes her to move away from the painful source, and she dreams of having a great job and possibly making some good friends. Just when these two goals are being achieved, her life is once again turned upside down after discovering she is pregnant. Though Joe still seems like he will be her friend, as he knows all about needing support after some bad decisions, Taylor has lost her faith in men. I really liked how Lynne Marshall made the couple very true-to-life, as the direction in which their feelings guide them could take a bad turn or lead to much pleasure. I hurt right along with them when they mentally suffered, and I felt joy when they were truly content.

HER BABY, HIS LOVE captures the interest on every engaging page. The relationship of Joe and Taylor is not your conventional boy meets girl and then they fall in love. While they do share plenty of positive sentiments about each other, fear of becoming involved again has her leaving much unsaid, while he does not act on how he feels in order to not be pushed away. His being an ex-con is shown in ways that had me knowing exactly what type of man he really is despite his background, and I admired how he tried to make himself better as it showed great effort on his part. Ms. Marshall has created not only a compelling romance, but the story is also very entertaining with fascinating secondary characters. The Montana setting and small town charm had me enjoying the book even more.

Her Baby, His Love well, it was entertaining, but to me it could have been a better book. This review does contain spoilers, please don't read further if you don't want to them.

One thing that bothered me was she was ok with sex, but when he turned her down and said they should wait for marriage she was upset and cited the fact that if she did that he could leave. Well he could anyway, but if it is a marriage its harder, and the fact that he wanted to wait should have meant something to her. Another thing, the confrontation with the ex was almost nothing, I really thought it would drag out more. There were several things listed about her growing up that her grandparents had to deal with without detail. example, they had paid enough in lawyer fees, but no reason was given. And then he got upset at the end when she wanted three months, he was upset she wanted to be in a better physical state. After all the 'I'll wait for you' lines he was upset she didn't want to walk to the JOP and get hitched.

I did like Joe's character for the most part, and I liked that he tried very hard to do the right thing.

I received a free copy of this novel from NetGalley for a fair review.

Quick read, romantic story with a bit of suspense thrown in, Iwas expecting more trouble from the baby daddy, but enjoyed the outcome and ending.

This book and this hero were not exactly what I was expecting and I think that’s one of the reasons why I loved it so much: its difference, its unpredictability. It’s a story about two nice people who made mistakes or faced difficulties and are now trying to do their best with these new circumstances. They are attracted to each other right from the beginning, but it’s a slow-burn romance, just as I like.
The growing attraction (and the fear of it or even denying it) is superbly handled, with Lynne Marshall showing us the heroine noticing small endearing details like the hero’s dimple, the tooth gap, the small patch of beard beneath his lower lip. We have the hero’s perspective as well of little things that make him fall for the heroine and all the silly, awkward, tender moments that occur between them.
I was expecting the hero to be a brooding tortured man, with lots of anger, resentment and hostility, but I was delightfully surprised because Joe turns out to be such a positive person: yes, he was hurt, he’s made a huge mistake, but somehow he redeemed himself and he lives a productive life. (“He didn’t seem bitter or resentful. He seemed levelheaded and wiser from the beating life had dealt him. Now she knew the serenity that she’d seen in his eyes had come at a huge price” 42%, quote from ARC).
The plot develops in a unique rhythm, with that unpredictability and type of surprises that happen in real life with real people. I especially liked the heroine’s abrupt revelation of her pregnancy and the hero’s slow connecting with the baby (it was so tender when he kneeled in front of Taylor and talked to the baby saying “Earth to baby, do you roger that?”). I also enjoyed that the main characters have common jobs (both are carers, in their own fields) and that details about their specific tasks and skills are woven into the narrative in a very believable and smooth way. There’s a good group of secondary characters as well.
So, this was a story full of emotions and some surprises (and a book with a beautiful cover) by Lynne Marshall, one of my favorite authors. I tend to eagerly wait for her books because she has a way with complexity and subtlety and usually writes about mature people falling for each other, with plenty of emotions and affection but without the unnecessary and stereotyped misunderstandings and artificial conflict that we often find in some romantic fiction.

Struggled with all the stereotyping of the ex-cons and single mom. I kept reading only because I was waiting for something good to happen or a twist to the story but it's your stereotypical romance novel.

A story about love and second chances in life. It was a fairly typical romance. An easy read, but nothing remarkable in this story for me.

This is a moving contemporary, second chance at life, romance with the ‘heroine’ having struggled with finding trustworthy men in her life, except for her grandfather! She discovered that the latest man in her life was married when it was announced in the newspapers and a colleague shared the news with her. Determined not to be around when he returns from his honeymoon, she finds herself a new job and house to live in hundreds of miles away in the comparatively small town of Charity, Montana.

She’s quite disappointed with the home when she first arrives as it is quite dilapidated and in desperate need of painting. However, inside it is much better and the friendly person who manages the rental properties, Joe Collins, soon gets things fixed and helps her to settle in. Joe also owns and runs the local garden centre and Taylor can’t believe how attracted she feels to him despite having sworn off men for the foreseeable future. When she discovers she’s pregnant, she’s even more determined to keep her distance. As friendship and trust grow between them the arrival of Taylor’s cheating ex is going to test everything they hold dear, especially as he wants his as yet unborn child!

The theme throughout this story is one of trust. There are some stereotyping of both ex-cons and single Mums but the story generally flows well. Joe is an ex-con who is working hard to put his past behind him and to atone for his mistakes but Taylor struggles to accept or trust him because of his past and how she’s been mistreated by the men she’s trusted in the past. I liked Joe’s character much more than Taylor’s! She seems quite blinkered and determined to condemn anyone who is an ex-con and repeatedly voices her prejudices.

As new friendships, a growing sense of community and belonging all develop for Taylor she needs to reevaluate her beliefs and expectations whilst Joe needs to learn to trust his heart and value himself and his achievements. The author takes the reader through the whole gamut of emotions, including some laugh out loud moments. Both the main characters are isolated from most of their family and would love to be the special someone in someone’s life. Their relationships with the community are the strongest and their support - well, apart from Arlene - is heartwarming.

Many thanks to the publishers for gifting me a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Her Baby, His Love by Lynne Marshall that I read and reviewed.
This book is a very sweet romance book. Taylor and Joe are both looking for new starts but for totally different reasons. I don't want to give too much away because of spoilers but Taylor has been hurt and wants to keep men in the just friends zone but there is something about Joe that draws her near.
I really enjoyed this book and found it to be a very fast read for me. It was a very pure romance book without hardly any sexual content at all and had a bit of religion mentioned so if you you enjoy this style of romance books you will love this book.
I am giving Her Baby, His Love four out of five stars.

This is a hard one to review for me. I liked the overall premise of the book, after ending a bad relationship a young woman moves to a new town for a fresh start. Shortly after arriving she dis covers she's pregnant. What I didn't like was how judgmental the h, Taylor, was while everyone in town was so accepting of her. The book is well written and the characters are well developed. Not a bad book but not a favorite of mine.

A great small town romance with unlikely couple. A single pregnant newcomer and an ex con. Both with trust issues but they learn to over come them. Both are trying to make fresh starts in their lives, and Taylor believes a friendship is all she can give to Joe, but soon that friendship blooms into so much more.

I really enjoyed this romance, so much more than romance of starting over and learning to trust. Loved how the small town came together to help, well almost everyone. This is my first book by Lynne Marshall and will not be my last.

I’m going to be in the minority on this story, but I could not like much about Her Baby, His Love. I wanted to, the idea of the story is interesting but the delivery was simply not to my taste.

I cannot recall when I disliked the heroine this much. She’s had some tough luck with men, okay been there done that, we all have. Yet the way she tosses every male under the bus of her loathing for the species is too much. Her prejudice toward ex-convicts simply angered me. In her opinion, no one deserves a second chance and every single person who has done time, no matter for what, is painted with the same brush. Taylor would have made an excellent villain, for that is how I thought of her for most of this story.

To be honest, I finished this one only because of the commitment to NetGalley in producing a review. In looking over the reviews on Amazon and Goodreads it seems that I am most definitely a small percentage of readers who feel this way. I’m not going to tear apart the story and justify my reaction to this one – I’m simply going to leave it at… this one was not for me, but there obviously is an audience that will enjoy it.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

***SPOILERS***
I requested this book from NetGalley because the plot sounded really good, and the story itself was enjoyable. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of Taylor. At all. By the end of the book, the word “ex-convict” made me want to scream because Taylor would not stop thinking the word every single time she thought about Joe. Joe was a ridiculously great guy who made a stupid mistake as a young man and paid the price for it, he was also a man who never even once judged HER for her own past mistakes while she literally judged him for his as if it were her job. It didn't matter to her that he wasn't that guy anymore, that he went to church and support group meetings and that he lived clean and respectably for three years before she rolled in to town and started labeling him a criminal, she acted as if he were fresh out of jail and still doing the things that got him sent there to begin with. It was absolutely ridiculous how often she used his past as an excuse to act holier than thou. I'll be honest, by the twenty-fifth time she asked herself if she could get past his being an ex-con, I was hoping he would find someone else to be with because he deserved to be with someone who wasn't using his past as an excuse to push him away. But he persevered despite it all and there was a happily ever after.

Despite my dislike of Taylor, this book was not awful. I really liked her neighbors and the small town of Charity, the small amount of drama between Taylor and Arlene, and I even liked the story line that happened with regards to Taylor's pregnancy and the baby's biological father. All of the characters were fleshed out well, and the author's writing talent definitely showed. If Taylor hadn't spent the whole book being so blasted judgmental, this would have easily been a four star book.

If you like a book about a nice little small town that likes to give second chances (even if our heroine doesn't), a little drama surrounding a baby's origin story, and really fun side characters that make the story enjoyable, you would probably enjoy this one.

I requested an ARC of this book via NetGalley and was under no obligation to write this review.

A sweet story of redemption. Finding a reason to trust again after a lifetime of disappointment leads to a new chance on life for Taylor, and Joe finds a way to forgive himself for past mistakes by becoming a good and honest man. They're an adorable couple ... and it's a pleasure watching them find their way to each other.

Taylor Clark is looking for a fresh start after finding out that yet another man has let her down in life, so she moves to Charity, Montana. From the start, she's attracted to the property manager of the house she's renting, but she's not ready to let another man into her life again ... and when she shockingly realizes she's pregnant with her ex's baby, it just complicates the situation even more!

Joe Collins is attracted to Taylor as well, but he leads a different type of life here in this small town, and he's not sure about adding a relationship to the mix. They agree to be friends and tell each other their secrets, but along the way they continue to rely on each other and grow closer. Taylor is able to overcome the fact that Joe is an ex-con, and Joe is willing to step up and care for her more than anyone ever has.

When her ex shows up in town making waves, will their fledgling relationship be over, or will they find a way to get their happily-ever-after?

a great love story.Taylor has ran away from her old life, she has been hurt again by a lying cheating man and she is sworn off men for good. Joe doesn't want any complications in his life it is too full as it is but there is something about his new neighbor that needs.
Can they both be more than friends or will a new development end it for good? They both learn things about each other that shock them and they both try pull away from each other but they both realize that they are better together. A great interesting story.

Taylor Clark doesn’t have good track record as far as her past boyfriends. Her latest one is the worst, when she finds out her boyfriend was married over the weekend via newspaper clipping. She couldn’t live in the Ventura anymore so she packs up and headed to small town Charity, Montana..
When she was faced with not so great looking cottage she already leased for a year that doesn’t make her feel good about moving. When her exuberant neighbor Dixie welcomes her to new town, it made her feel better and tells about her handyman “Joe” who also works at the nursery.
When her property manager Joe shows up to the house to paint, she is faced with tattoed ex-cons working on her house. She immediately went to complain to Joe and gives her mind about ex-cons. And then she finds about Joe is an Ex-con as well.
Taylor didn’t want to fall for a wrong guy again.. She was sure Joe wasn’t the right guy. But she is faced with another problem. She is knocked up by her ex-boyfriend. Now she had to think of her baby as well.
Through out her pregnancy, Joe and her quirky neighbors were the only ones helping her. Finally Taylor is slowly opening up to Joe and getting closer. She was slowly feeling better about being in Charity.
Her scumbag ex-boyfriend wants to find her and wants to keep her as well as his new wife. So he hires private detective to find Taylor. When she was found, now Taylor is facing more problems and feels lonelier than ever.
Who will she trust and what will happen to Joe??

Lynne Marshall brings to life the characters she writes about and the settings add so much to the story and this is a story about a heroine Taylor Clark who has a hard time trusting but to love she needs to learn to trust and who better than to help than the people of the small town of Charity and one very gorgeous hero Joe Collins although he has a few issues that Taylor needs to get over first. Their journey is one that has a few hurdles to jump first but those hurdles always add to a story.

Taylor has moved towns to get a new start in life she has been duped by a few men in her life and she is over trusting any man, but when she settles into her new job and house and now finds herself pregnant and alone she is determined to manage. Her landlord Joe Collins and neighbours Dixie and Ram help but getting close to Joe could be a mistake for Taylor you see he is an ex-con not trustworthy material.

Joe has lived here in Charity for a few years now and has been celibate for four of those years he runs the nursey and is always there to help but when new comer Taylor moves in he is hard pressed to remember he is celibate he is attracted to her in more ways than one and now that she is pregnant well that pull seems even stronger.

I loved how the town and Joe rallied around for Taylor when the ex-boyfriend shows up and I loved seeing how she finally realized that Joe is one trustworthy and very lovable hero and to see them start a future together with the baby had me smiling. A thoroughly enjoyable story that will pull you in.

Forgiveness and acceptance are strong themes in this gentle love story from Lynne Marshall. Both Taylor and Joe have come to Charity, Montana to start new lives. Taylor has sworn off men after discovering the boyfriend she thought loved her had married someone else behind her back. Joe made a foolish mistake while at university, ended up in jail and is now working hard to establish himself as an upright citizen. The attraction between these two is immediate but they both have prejudices to overcome and trust to build. The pace of this story is slow and gentle, which matches the style,of story writing. There are plot twists which add sparks of interest here and there but it's not an edge of your seat story. Nonetheless it left me with a smile on my face.

Loved the sweet story about misconceptions, judgment, starting over. Taylor left a cheating boyfriend behind and moved to charity. She not only find a second chance to start over but found love with someone she least expected. Joe was given a second chance to start his life over. He's not looking for love until he met Taylor. As the work thru their insecurities and secrets they both realized that their love is worth fighting for. Recommended read.
