This book was very good. I liked the story and can't wait for the rest in the series.

Something Old is a great second chance romance. Delaney and Ethan were well written and I love the storyline and concept. This is the first book I have read by Megan Ryder but I look forward to reading many more.

I loved this story by Ryder and I'm honestly excited for my next read by this awesome author.

This series has a unique overall story theme of the bride wanting to reunite her bridesmaids with their former lover. It should not come as a surprise that a bride would want her closest friends to be as happy as she is. Actually, it did since we usually think of a bride only being concerned with the wedding. I appreciated this bride looking out, also known as meddling in her friends’ lives.

Book one of the series, Something Old by Megan Ryder has past come back into the present for Delaney Winters and Ethan Van Owen. To say it was unexpected is an understated. This Texas couple must confront the past, family, social, secrets and betrayal before they have a chance at a happily ever after. It is Dallas bridal style. What fun!

I really enjoyed this emotional second-chance romance. It was more than I was expecting and I can't wait to read more books in this series.

How do you find strength when the world crumbles around you? Delaney has yet to figure out the answer to that question. Perhaps fate and confronting her past will provide the answers. Something Old is a second chance romance that is insightful, delightful and emotional. Ethan and Delaney allowed misunderstandings, betrayals and pride to destroy their love song. Will a wedding weekend give them the chance to rekindle their dance of love?

It took me a few chapters before I felt any connection to Delaney, and even then it was simply surface. What drove this story for me was Ethan, his true confusion as to why Delaney broke their engagement quite publicly, why she turned away from her friends just when she’d needed them the most – and why after five years he still loved this woman. Delaney’s world was destroyed when her father was arrested for a financial scheme that hurt so many people, her friends and their families included. She had to do damage control, tend to her broken mother, deal with the aftermath of her father’s deception and then his death. She truly felt that she would only bring Ethan and her friends more pain, drag them into this mess that was her life – so she walked, no ran away from them all. Her unexplained to those involved “good intentions” only brought her more pain and separation in the end.

Now, she’s maid of honor at her once best friend Caroline’s wedding. And she’ll have to face her former friends and roommates – and Ethan. There is definitely world building in this first of the series, and explanations of who, what and why everyone was then and is today. I would call Something Old a second chance romance in many ways. Delaney and Ethan aren’t done yet, perhaps they never will be. But that will come at a cost to emotions, pride and the willingness to forgive each other. Ethan was a strong, determined man. Delaney was broken, even if she didn’t acknowledge it and her actions had long reaching consequences. So not only a second chance romance, but the possibility of building bridges back to friendships that once mattered so much… and hopefully would once more.

We now have a feel for the players in this series, and I’m looking forward for the next story in this series. I’d recommend this one for Romance lovers who enjoy the twists and turns of rebuilding a life with friends and a lover.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Cute, though unlikely, premise. College friends who have lost touch with each other are reunited as the first of them marry.

This story reunites lovers. She broke up because of family scandal, and she did not want her scandal to drag him down. Needless to say, this is an HEA ending.

There was no real suspense in the story so the story relied on the characters. One character is so mean that I really don't care to read her (presumed) story. The others didn't have as much personality as I would have liked to see.

All in all, this was a quick and pleasant read.

Delayne's life was picture perfect from the outside. She was young, engaged, happy, and rich. Her father then blew that up with a financial scream that brought her reality to a living hell. People started to hate her for her father's wrongs. Pushing away the people who loved her most, to protect them, she isolates herself.

5 years later it's time to face the world that turned it's back on her. Her childhood best friend's wedding and coming face to face with her ex-fiance.
The angst in this book is well written, witty, and on point. The banter between the girls, the snyde comments from the outer circles, the looks that speak volumes all are key to the story and dramatic turns.

Ethan and Delayne's relationship jumps off the pages. The hurt feels, the longing, the passion, it's all there grabbing ahold of the readers. Wanting them to reunite and hoping that it will be good this time but screaming each time Delayne doubts herself. With the meddling bride, the bitchy friends, and the over cautious concerns to protect them both. But does Ethan know what she really want and needs? Or is he just going to jump right back to where they ended.

But will they be able to survive the emotional abuse from the outsiders or will they be destine to be apart?

Something Old by Megan Ryder is a story of second chances if the protagonists are brave enough to take them, and if they can learn to trust each other and forgive. This is the first book in the Lone Star Match series, which focuses on a matchmaking bride and her three bridesmaids. Book one is Delaney's story and boy has that girl gone through the wringer! Five years earlier she was society's darling, engaged to up snd coming financier Ethan Van Owen. That was until her father was charged with involvement in a Ponzi scheme and her world crashed down around her.
I liked both Delaney and Ethan, who is, of course, brought back into the picture by matchmaking bride Caroline. I also liked the twists and turns this story took as it progressed.
There we a few things that made me cringe, however. Regular mentions of panties either dampening or soaking are at the top of my list of pet hates in romance novels. So clichéd! Surely authors can be a little bit more imaginative with visceral reactions! I'm also not mad keen on "his cock and her slit". Sorry but that's just crass. Maybe I'm too old, but there are much nicer ways of describing genitals if you feel the need to go into the nitty gritty of the sex act. It's supposed to involve us readers in the wonder of it all for goodness sake!
Anyway, those little things did niggle at me but actually I really enjoyed this story. The plot is good. The pace is good and the story is good too.

A sweet romance book. Lovely story with great storyline. Loved the main characters. Not enough "hotness" that I normally like in a book but suprisingly I liked it.
