This novel was a good read and continues the story of Gin Crawford as Justitian, or as she likes to call herself, a demon huntress. The novel contains some romance, but mainly action and investigations. She still has her mentor Aidan Smythe and her brother T at her side as well as her job as an ER nurse. She fights demons and minions. She also fights her attraction for Aidan and forms a bond with Zagan, a demon of lies.
Gin and Aidan investigate a murder of a woman that involves a football star. Aidan believes the football star is involved with the murders but Gin does not think so. Their investigation leads them down many possible routes, but it involves minions and demons. Gin's justitia keeps wanting to make its presence known at certain times and Gin cannot understand why when there should be no demons present.
When Aidan and Gin are at the Agency, they are attacked by minions, which causes death for some of the members in the Agency. Aidan is badly injured and Gin uses Zagan's power that he gave her to stop the attack. This causes Gin to be brought in for questioning by Aidan's father and the head of the Agency, who seem to be hiding secrets. Gin suspects there are moles in the Agency.
While healing, T's girlfriend breaks up with him for the football star. T is upset but has Eloise, a healer, help him with a spell. Gin keeps going to the club the football star goes to and tries to gather more information. Gin breaks her rule of not sleeping with her mentor, but they can no longer fight the attraction they have. However, when Aidan sees Gin at the club being kissed, he is mad and leaves her. Gin is attacked by a demon and his minions and find out who the killer is and why. In the end, Gin is alone and reverts back to what she did in the past. The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger since you do not know which directions the characters are heading and if they will solve their problems with themselves and each other.
I believe this may be the third book in the series, which means I missed book number 2, that seems to have some information in it that I would have liked to have had in this one. But that's okay. I still really enjoyed this book. There was a lot of action and some real mystery in this one. There are now suspicions in my mind about certain things that are going on with regards to the Agency, Smythe's father, and the leader of the Agency. We see some almost deaths of our heroine in this book. Gin and Tonic have a falling out of sorts. Why? What has happened? What's going on with Tonic and Jackie? What happens between Gin and Smythe? Who or what is Eloise? I have some questions on that one. Why can she do things that are supposed to be impossible to do inside the Agency? You're going to have to read this book to find out what happened! Whooooie!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M. Brennan.
When Karilyn Bentley emailed me to request a review for the first book in her Demon Huntress series I agreed, but wasn't really expecting much out of it. I know, I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but I always do. The cover for DEMON LORE isn't bad, it just didn't grab me and say "read me now". Thankfully the story snuck up on me and I found myself enjoying it enough to read book two, DEMON KISSED. When Karilyn once again reached out asking for a review of book three I had no hesitation about agreeing as I was still interested in following Gin's story to see what would happen next.
DEMON CURSED has quite a bit going on. There is an attack on the agency and Gin reveals abilities that put her in danger. Gin is still wrestling with feelings for her partner Aidan—and I am SO happy to say there is some movement here I think most will love, but by the end some will hate. On top of that women are turning up dead and they are all connected to football star that is putting the moves on Gin and Zagan continues to confuse Gin —and me, cause I still can't read the situation. Lastly, Gin and her brother T's close relationship is put to the test when he blames her for an event that happens.
DEMON CURSED ends with some major stuff happening. I don't want to spoil anything by telling too much, but it's so hard not to vent a little soooo........ *Spoil Alert*. Aidan and Gin have a fight where Aidan storms off without letting Gin explain things and then she is attacked while Aidan is blocking his mind from her and she can't get his help. This made me SO mad!! He knew things were happening and she could have died! He had a right to be angry, but I am still so mad that he wasn't there for her when she needed him the most because his feelings were hurt. *End Spoiler*...... I can't even begin to imagine where things will go from there, but Aidan is on my shit list.
I found DEMON CURSED as enjoyable as the first two books and look forward to the time when Karilyn Bentley reaches out for a review of book four!

Entertaining story with plenty of action and hot romance, and it has a kickass female heroine which I love.

Aidan sees Gin being kissed and he’s mad and leaves.Than Gin and Aidan get into a fight and he blocks her form his mind and than Gin is alone and attacked by a demon and his minions and she can’t get his help because of the block he had on his mind.
This book was a five for me until the end because it ended in a cliffhanger. I HATE cliffhangers. I advise you to read the books in this series in order to be a smoother more informative read. I was annoyed with Aidan when he closed his mind to Gin and she was attacked. He was suppose her mentor and protect her so no matter his personal feelings he should always leave his mind open to her and make sure she was okay. I loved the action, mystery, amd intrigue in this book. I loved the author's style in the way she wrote this. I felt bad when Gin and T had a fight that is her twin. I was sucked into this book by the first page and stayed that way until the last. I didn’t want to put this book down. I loved the characters and the twists and turns of this book and I recommend.
