Description
Ari Dillon is not your ordinary hero. He’s willing to lie, deceive, and hijack a private jet—all in the name of his cause. So if abducting billionaire Samantha Bessinger is the only way Ari can get her alone, he’ll do it. Real estate mogul Samantha has never met anyone like Ari. He’s charming, ruthless, and almost irresistible. Yet when he crash-lands her jet onto a deserted Caribbean island and reveals his shapeshifting secrets, she can’t deny he’s one of a kind. But just because he shows her things she never knew were possible, doesn’t prove they are soul mates as he claims. While Samantha didn’t become a success by being a pushover, is she enough of a match for the shifter in paradise?

This is a voluntary review of an advance copy.
This was a quick read and events moved along pretty quickly. Ari kidnaps Samantha because he has dreamed that she is his mate and was not able to approach her easily due to her heavy security (she is rich). Kidnapping romances are really hard to get a good feeling about a romance instead of getting a stalker type vibe, and this story was ok with that aspect. I think if the story was a bit longer, it would have helped the progression of the romance and "felt" more natural. Once I got past the kidnapper vibe, I started to like Ari and kind of felt bad for him when Samantha was so not making it easy for him!! Gotta love a strong independent woman!
While I did enjoy the story, I wish there was a little more romance, a bit less on the shifter training, and I would have loved a longer ending. It happened so quickly, and then it was over. I guess I was hoping to see what she thought of Atlantis and got to meet the parents!
If I had not received an advanced copy, I probably would have borrowed the book through KU, but at 75 pages, I would not have purchased the book.
Ms. Kearney had written another thrilling sci-romance. Good solid plot with solid writing.
'Shifter in Paradise' by Susan Kearney is the story of Ari Dillon and Samantha Bessinger.
Samantha is a business women who has not time for relationships.
Ari is a shifter who took on the form of Samantha's pilot to get close to her. Samantha is a hard person to get alone. Ari family we learn have a history of looking for their sole mate until they find them. Samantha is Ari sole mate and he is stopping at nothing to claim her....even learning how to fly a plane to take her.
So Glad to find this author...I will be looking for more of her books.

This was a very short paranormal romance about a different type of shapeshifter and his fated mate.
Ari is a shapeshifter who, after dreaming of his fated mate, shifts himself into the form of her personal pilot and essentially kidnaps her. They end up landing on his secluded island where he is somehow supposed to both convince her to trust him and convince her that she can make herself change forms.
Samantha, rightly so, is not exactly on board with the kidnapping plan. She’s a powerful, independent woman, who does not enjoy being played with. Luckily for them both, nature makes them irresistible to one another, helping her overcome her hesitation in short order. What initially feels impossible is suddenly part of her hopes and dreams. These two are definitely an unlikely pair, and would probably have continued to be without the help of this fated mate “push.”
