I thought that Hank was ever going to give into his feelings, and finally tell Mia that he loves her more than just his foster sister. There's so much going on in, Out of Sight, that I had a hard time putting it down. I really enjoyed this book.

Ooh, a rainfall showerhead. Nice.

Reading is like breathing to me as well.

I hate Tripp.

No news is good news. No evidence means someone's hiding something.

It sounds like she was a target. Could Tripp have put a hit out on her?

I wonder what Hank was diagnosed with.

The woman at the institution is a witch.

He really needs to stop drinking.

Damn. That would be a bad diagnosis for anybody, but especially a pilot.

Patience is a virtue, honey. I know, it's hard.

Jamie is a good person.

That mama's boy definitely either hired someone or set the fire himself.

They're cute together.

Ha, she likes slapping him in the stomach.

Damn, all three brothers have it?

What good are cops if they don't rush to help?

It's like we've entered the Twilight Zone.

I need an epilogue!

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Mia and Hank have known each other since they were foster siblings. Mia was badly beaten in the bike trail by her home, and left for dead. She was luckily found by someone and rushed to the local hospital for treatment. She has had to fight to recover her her mobiilty, her speech and her memory. She learns that her home was set in fire just as she is released fromt the hospital. Hank is trying to come to grips with losing his site (gentic disorder from his father). Mia realizes that she has always loved Hank, but fears that he does not feel the same. Mia was engaged to a very rich man who was way too controling of Mia. She breaks the engagement off with Tripp upon remembering they had had a fight about him cheating. Tripp though keeps turning up at the worst times in the sotry. The reader is lead to beave that Tripp has something to do with Mia's accicdent. I will not ruin the story, but the ending was happy, both Mia and Hank do found each other in the end.

An intriguing and original plot kept the story moving along quite nicely. Good characters.

I enjoyed reading this story about foster siblings becoming lovers. This is not among my favorite tropes, but I thought it was well crafted: “He couldn’t recall when exactly his feelings for her began to change. Rather than a seismic shift that resulted in an earthquake, the change came subtly like spring slipping slowly into summer.” (Loc. 894.
Mia and Hank are both strong and likeable characters. Hank sometimes acts like a jerk, but I guess I even liked those imperfections, he seemed more real. I just felt that he was so obsessed with resisting and fighting the attraction that when he finally gave in it seemed too sudden. But he was so protective and tender with Mia…
Both main characters are dealing with life-altering medical issues in this story and I liked how the author, Melissa Klein, dramatized them, specially Mia’s traumatic brain injury (no spoilers here, the blurb is explicit about that) – I thought it was very well handled, realistically and showing knowledge and research about its implications and effects. The hero’s diagnosis is understandably not as developed and takes a back seat to Mia’s problems. And maybe his character is overdone when Klein gives him an additional serious problem.
I would love to read more about these two people because, in the end, their story and their issues felt a bit incomplete. I was also very curious about some delightful secondary characters: Bash, the SEAL/writer, and Hank’s biological brothers, dealing with the same medical issues.

Out of Sight
By: Author Melissa Klein
📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

Let me begin by saying this was my first read from this author but definitely not my last.

Mia and Hank have known each other since they were living as foster siblings. Mia was badly beaten on a bike trail near her home, and left for dead. She was luckily found by a good samaritan and rushed to the local hospital for treatment. She fought to recover her her mobiilty, her speech and her memory. She learns that her home was set on fire just as she is released from the hospital. Hank is trying to come to grips with losing his site (a genetic disorder passed from his father). What will it take for these to, too be together? Mia knows that she has always loved Hank, but fear that he does not feel the same holds her back. Mia was engaged to a controlling man that believes money gave him rights he doesn't have with Mia. She breaks the engagement off with Tripp after remembering he was a cheater. Tripp though keeps turning up at the worst times in the sotry. The reader is lead to beave that Tripp has something to do with Mia's attack.

The author did an amazing and descriptive job with this book. She has you rooting for Mia and Hank to get together from the beginning. You know these two broken people with huge hearts could be amazing together. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is sweet and oh so romantic. You'll just have to go through the angst and torment to get to the HEA. I highly recommend this book and plan to read other books in the series.

Thanks you Netgally for letting me read and review.

**I received a copy of Out of Sight from Net Galley and Wild Rose Press in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Out of Sight by Melissa Klein is the second book in the author's Out of Uniform series. I haven't read the first book and was read this story as a stand alone without any problems. It's also my first book by the author and I'll be anxious to read the rest of the series.

Mia Jones and Hank Taggart grew up in the foster care system and are just like the family they never had. She is a fantastic ADA lawyer who goes for conviction whenever she's in court but one of her cases has struck back with a violent attack putting her in a coma. Mia is now learning everything again and dealing with TBI will be hard but with her fiance and Hank by her side she hopes to battle back to her new normal life. But there is something sinister out there trying to make sure she doesn't remember. Hank is very suspicious of her fiance Tripp but he had his own worries to deal with plus what he feels for Mia is more than brotherly love. Luckily, she tells Tripp to take a hike because now that she knows how Hank feels she'll do whatever she can to convince him that what they feel is forever.

Hank Taggart is a Navy aviator who had to ditch his F-18 into the ocean when he couldn't see the catch wire. Now he's grounded and waiting for doctors to determine if he'll be able to fly again. But as soon as he's told of Mia's attack he'll do whatever it takes to get her better again. But will he be able to deny that he feels more than brotherly love for her? As the doctor's tell him the news that he has a genetic eye disease, he'll also learn that Mia has something the attacker doesn't want known and who they are will surprise you. Can Hank and Mia find the love they didn't have as children? Will Mia be able to escape a second time from someone who wants her dead?

I loved how the author researched TBI and also RP as it brings so much to the reader to understand how it changes the patients lives.

For the first part of the book I felt like I was reading a book in a series where you had to read the first book to understand what was going on. For me the author took too long to explain who the main characters were and what had happened to Mia. Then when it was finally revealed what happened it was practically glossed over. I think the book needed a prologue with what had happened and then they could dive into the story.

Otherwise though I enjoyed the different twist of the plot in this book. Mia's struggles and battles felt real. The chemistry between Mia and Hank was just off the charts! Oh and Hank...my heart broke for him.

I really liked the strength shown by both Hank and Mia. Each growing up in the foster care system shaped their future I think. The background and details shown help to make these characters likable and realistic. The suspense of Mia's recent life and the medical issues in Hank's brings them together again and fans the flame felt by Mia for years. I really liked this story and look forward to more by Ms. Klein.
