Description

An overzealous decision by Cleveland Police Lieutenant Stacy Tavitt leads to a botched undercover investigation, leading to Stacy being attacked and her unconscious body dumped into the frigid Cuyahoga River. Six months later, Stacy’s first case back from medical leave involves the murder of Cleveland Browns football player Devon Baker. With little forensic evidence connecting anyone to the crime, Stacy sets out to find the killer. As Stacy comes very close to unraveling the tangled threads of the case, the killer wants her, and those close to her, to suffer for another impulsive decision she made in the line of duty. The killer just may be more familiar to Stacy than she realizes.

Code for Murder is a terrific book. This mystery has a great plot and well developed characters. The plot kept me guessing. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy a good mystery.

This was a very well written police procedural with a determined female detective, her partner Austin and Gavin the new Assistant County Prosecutor. They are the trail of a murderer and the trail leads them through many twists and turns of suspense and intrigue. What starts as one murder becomes something else entirely and the way that this story plays out leaves the reader wanting the next book. Thank you NetGalley and Eliot Parker for allowing me to read and give an honest review of this book.

an unusual mystery because the protagonist is very human- making a lot of poor decisions but somehow survives. the missteps seem very real and it keeps you guessing with all the twists and turns but somehow it all comes together in the end.

I love this book. This was a new to me author, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This story is rock solid. It takes so many twists and turns. This was one of the few stories that I honestly didn't know how the end was going to happen or who was committing the murders. I couldn't stop reading until the last page. I can't wait to read the next one. This is a solid five-star page turner the likes of which you haven't seen lately. I have been looking for a good suspense and this definitely fit the bill.

I quite enjoyed this book and I could find myself sympathising with Stacy and her health struggles. I did feel that it was a little Stacy overload but good story and will look for other books by Eliot Parker again

This was an exciting and interesting mystery. Not recalling that I had purchased this book, I got a copy from NetGalley. I made allowances as I went along for the typos, pronoun mistakes, character identities switched, etc. I hoped that an editor and proofreader were busy correcting all the errors. I am not going to spend my time checking my purchased copy to see if that is true. Overall the book was entertaining and fast moving. Will there be another book giving Chance another chance? Will the romance be a problem? Health issues? This is one beat up team of detectives and policemen.

Stacy knows that she should wait for back up but she is afraid that the men will disappear before then and she needs to find her informant. But Stacy makes a mistake and almost loses her life and she is now back on the job but her lungs are badly damaged from her dumping into the icy water. She knows that she has to watch her step or else she will be put on desk duty. Her partner Austin is already on the scene and the dead guy is a NFL player so this means everyone is going to be watching them with interest. The further they dig into his life the more questions they find. But just when they are making progress someone decides that it is time to shut them up. Austin is shot and Stacy is almost driven over but why? Their new ADA Gavin is trying to help but he has serious anger issues and their growing attraction has caused problems but why make it personal? The world of higher played athletes is filled with money, greed and drugs and the team is about to find out who is taking out their members. Will Stacy live to tell the tale and find out the truth? A good read full of action and some pretty wise ass remarks. I liked Stacy as she is a tough woman that hates to show fear but she can admit when she is wrong. Can Gavin be the one to tame her? Austin is one fine looking man. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest review.
