I received a sample of this book, and I must say that it is wonderful! The illustrations are beautiful and kid friendly, the stories are interesting and not too long, and I love that the stories are categorized by Country of origin. I’m already adding this book to my Christmas List to buy for friends with kiddos. The only reason it didn’t get a 5 is because the sample only had 3 stories, and I can’t speak for the others. BUT if the rest of the stories are akin to the ones I’ve read, you’re in for quite a treat!

I recieved a sample of this book and I have to say that it was a really enjoyable read. There are short stories from all over the world. This would make a perfect bedtime story book, or just a wonderful gift for a person who loves animals and/or is interested in different cultures.

A World Full of Animal Stories is a fun and engaging read for children. They will delight in the beautiful pictures and equally enjoyable stories from around the world. It will feel to them as though they have escaped to the faraway land where the tales takes place, and it is the imagination of life that sets this book apart. As a librarian and mother, this book will be a purchase that I make for my library and my own home.

I love how McAllister put together A World Full of Animal Stories. Being able to find out the origin of stories about animals we have heard for years was fun as an adult, but also excellent for children to learn as they heard the stories. My current classroom is studying animals of all kinds and it was fun to consult the book to find out if there were any stories about our animal and where it originated. This book also inspired wonderful thinking about writing animal tales.

You can bet I will buy this book for my daughter. I adore fairy tales, having grown up with Grimm and Andersen, and find it fascinating to read the stories from other countries, how the people there tell their tales, in which ways they are similar and which ways they differ. The illustrations are so lush and gorgeous. I'm stunned and so happy I stumbled upon this treasure. This is one of the books that, to me, makes the heart grow bigger, to understand the world better. And, of course, have fun.

this book is a great read and a beautifully illustrated volume. It is also a wonderful book to use to teach. I will be using it in the library and adding it to my next order. I use A Year Full of Stories all the time in my school library and in my professional storytelling. This is definitely one to add.

As a kid, I loved books like this! It has stories that I recognize, stories that I don’t, and information about where those stories come from. Kids will find something new every time they look at “A World Full of Animal Stories."

This appears to be a beautiful book, but also thick and dense. Each story takes a few pages with illustrations sprinkled throughout.

A World Full of Animal Stories: 50 favourite animal folk tales, myths and legends by Angela McAllister is a beautiful and interesting book of folktales and legends that celebrate animals and culture. These stories are brought to life as the reader travels the globe to Africa, Asia, North and South America, Europe, Australia and Oceania.

It is a book full of cultural stories, with strong messages and wonderful illustrations. Familiar stories such as The Billy Goats Gruff, The Nightingale, and The Ugly Duckling are in the book so the reader will learn where those stories came from. In the contents guide it has each of the stories listed under the continent they belong to, with the country that relates to the story in brackets next to its title, which is useful for finding a specific story or learning about a certain region.

The stories are not long, which makes it perfect for bedtime stories. One story a night will give your child something to think and talk about. This would also would be great for the classroom, particularly when learning about different cultural stories and traditions.

I thought this book was lots of fun. With an animal loving daughter, I couldn't miss out on this. I enjoyed the illustrations. My only complaint is that this was only a sample, even though the description doesn't say that. Instead of 50 stories, we only got a couple. I would have liked to experience the whole book, or at least known I wasn't getting all of it.

A beautiful collection of stories both old and new that is a delight to read and to look at.
