Description
Kit Finn meets handsome sculptor Matt Healy on a business trip and the two share a night of passion. They arrange a second date, but when Kit arrives at Matt’s apartment she is greeted by a stranger claiming he is the real Matt and that his identity was stolen.
Realising she has been duped Kit decides to put the encounter behind her. Shortly after, the police ask her to identify a man killed in a hit and run, carrying only her business card, and she is shocked to find the dead man is the person she knows as the genuine Matt Healy.
Kit fears she has become unintentionally embroiled in a sinister web of deceit. With no real evidence to take to police, Kit resolves to unravel the mystery herself. But can she do so before more lives, including her own, are put in danger?

The Wong Man by Kate White
Kit was on holiday in Florida when she met an attractive stranger. This encounter will take her into a nightmare situation when she arrives back home in New York. I enjoyed this thriller. It had plenty of suspense and was fast paced with a few twists and turns.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Canelo for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
A young interior decorator has a chance romantic encounter with a stranger on holiday. On returning to New York she arrives as arranged at his flat only to find a different man lives there, with the same name.
This is the start of a nightmare sequence of events where she is no longer sure of the identity and intentions of people and the safety of her home, her business and even her life are under threat.
This is a gripping thriller, full of suspense with many twists and turns.
A very gripping start, which intrigues you at the onset. A few good twists to keep you interested.
A one sitting book. Loved this one, once you start reading, you can’t stop. Thank you for the advanced copy.
A very easy read full of twists, turns and 'what on earth happened there!'
I love it when a novel lulls you into one way of thinking then turns itself upside down.
Intelligently written and the plot flows well.
I really enjoyed this! I’ve not tried this author before but will be looking out for her in the future. I liked Kit and I loved trying to solve the mystery. Would recommend
A neat UK/US mash-up!
Interesting tale - crossing continents. Believable characters. Good setting, well-described!
I read a lot thrillers, this one was ok,not a bad read,a women meets a man in New York, does to met him again but it isn't the same person.
I was sucked into this book immediately. I liked Kit and I liked the characters along side her. There is a feeling at all times something is going to happen and shock you. Recommend!
Although this kept me interested and I read it quickly I didn't enjoy it quite as much as The secrets you keep ! Kit meets a handsome stranger whilst on a business trip , she arranges to see him again back in New York but when she arrives at the apartment for her date it's the wrong man . She is thrust into the murky world of a financial corporation who will stop at nothing to keep themselves out of trouble . It was a good read but a bit more of a romance with a bit of peril , a bit like a Karen Rose which is great if that's what you like to read .
This was a great thriller. Intriguing and it drew me in from the start. I had just read another book by the same author so I was eager to see if this one was as good and I was not disappointed.
Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for an advance e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
Impossible to describe this book without giving away aspects of the plot. Suffice to say it's a great mystery read with a complex plot that keeps the reader engaged right until the end. A real page-turner with rational explanations for the twists and turns.
