This is a very interesting read which will resonate with many. In this very interesting read Norman Brain Van weaves together the situation of a 15th Century explorer called Ponce de Leon, from Spain, who is endeavouring to conquer and increase his wealth, with that of a retired 21st Century teacher called Ross Porter. Their lives are so unimaginably different yet they both have one thing in common, the fear of ageing and a reluctance to accept the inevitable. We experience here the different elements of life which cause us pain and the reasons why we might want our lives to never end. This was well written and really interesting, poignant and thought provoking.
