The story is action packed and emotional from start to finish. There are interesting characters, danger, love, and acceptance. Thorn needed to work through uncertainty about his place in the family and society. Alicia stood ready to help him. There are interesting characters, secrets, danger, love, and acceptance.

I enjoyed this story and recommend it. The peak at Thorn and Alicia in the epilogue was delightful.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The review is voluntary.

Alicia and Thorn are plagued by the age-old prejudice stamp of the illegitimacy of Thorn’s birth. Which in fact was a huge chip on Thorn’s shoulders. He had to fight his way out of many embarrassing hurting situations. Now he is faced with the fight of a lifetime, but can he afford to lose this battle and lose the one he loved or fight amidst all the age-old taunting of his birth. He is torn that if he wins her their for each other could utterly destroy their future together, by driving them apart. Ha, little does he know having never met that pushy guy named Cupid.

This is the second book that I have read by this author. I liked this book... The story is different where a bastard gets the love & acceptance from his own family but still has to fight against the predujices of society ... The uniqueness is the family supporting him & not shying about the fact of his birth outside marriage ...This was very rare in Regency Era where nobility were in denial of there illegimate offsprings ...
Sandra has tried to tackle the topic excellently...Only thing i find boring was too much conversations between the main & secondary characters... Sandra needs to focus on her main characters as den the link doesn't get disturbed while reading ...overall a nice book

Thorn Wick came to England three years ago after the death of his mother. His father is a Duke and Thorn finds it difficult to be accepted as his illegimate son.
Alicia Montgomery, ward of the duke, has been in love with Thorn since their meeting. The differences in their station is one of the reasons they can never be together.
While there is a plot with a mix of suspense this just fell flat. I couldn’t connect with the book. The dialogue was difficult to follow at times, it was not realistic to the time.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. For more reviews please visit my blog:
