I reviewed this in digital format via Netgalley. Personally I would like to see a print version of this book for my own collection. It is a nice overview of a great number of divination tools, some of which I am quite unfamiliar with. (Like scrying with egg white) I look forward to trying them out.
The illustrations are inviting and frequently colorful.
The directions are complete and easy to follow.
I appreciated sections for recording my readings and observations and a nice list of resources.
I have already checked out more on the author's website.
A very good guide to divination techniques some well known and some unusual. Interesting hints and a good description of each technique.

This was a good book. I am new to crystals, and have heard about this practice. I found the book to be a good beginning source to learn more. The writing was very easy to understand and the pictures just served to add to the experience of learning about crystals, runes, etc. Now when I go into a New Age store and view crystals, I know what to look and feel for. Very good book. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, though I certainly had high hopes. And I'm thrilled to report that I wasn't disappointed! I am completely clueless about the world of divination, and found the book to be extremely user-friendly for the total noob. The writing was cozy and easy to understand. Many different topics and types of divination were covered. And while the author was great at explaining things on a level that I could understand, I also felt that she went into detailed depth for those who are more experienced. A must-have for anyone interested in divination.
Back in my early to mid-teens, I was VERY into the occult, Wiccan. Fortune telling etc. When I saw this book up on NetGalley, I thought t would be fun to revisit my past and maybe learn a bit more about Divination in the process.
This book was a fun read for sure. It was well laid out and easy to follow and had loads of hand-drawn graphics that livened things up. It is broken up into seven different chapters (INTRODUCING DIVINATION, ORACLES OF THE ANCIENTS, READING THE TRACES, PALMISTRY, FORTUNE-TELLING WITH CARDS, NUMEROLOGY, THE MYSTIC GAZE). Each chapter has some useful information with little insights and tips. I especially liked the crystal section with the various rocks/crystals and their meanings/uses and the Tarot section. I don't really have much more to say about this book. It would make a perfect gift for anyone interested in all things occult.

I really enjoyed this book. I actually made my whole family participate in the numerology section. We were surprised by how accurate the descriptions of each one of the numbers were. I have always been interested in reading tea leaves and palms but in the past a lot of the books I have read have been boring or hard to interpret. Liz Dean made this one so fun and easy to navigate that I absolutely want to buy a physical copy for my home. I want to try all the different methods. 5 stars, 5 stars, 5 stars!!!! That is all.
I found this book to be good when looking for an introduction to divination as a whole and having a look at the different forms instead of getting multiple 101 books. Some topics are discussed in one or two pages or a chapter in itself.
This book is fascinating. If you are interested in any kind of Divination practice this book will really be big help to you. The book covers tips and techniques for everything from runes to tarot cards. I was given a digital copy but will be getting the paper copy to add to my collection of books. This will make a great reference book for anyone.
Some things I knew like crystals and cards, but then there are some things I have never heard of like scrying with egg whites. I love how this book gets you started btu also can help you along the way in your journey into divination practices. There are tons of illustrations as well in the book so you can get better idea of some practices.
I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.
I absolutely love this book. I've explored nearly every form of divination listed in the book like runes, dowsing, tarot, card divination, tarot. There were also some that I;ve
For instance, the book goes more in depth of rune reading. It breifly shows a chart that gives the reader the outline of different types of runes: how many are in the "deck", the different origins of the runes, and, of course, the name of the type of runes.
I have no shame when i say this: I became interested in tea leaf reading because of Harry Potter. I haven't found many books on tea leaf reading, much less a single book on tea leaf reading that was worth buying, but this book tells you enough about it. And for those of you who aren't tea-drinkers, The Ultimate Guide to Divination also instructs the reader on coffee and salt reading.
To cover so many different forms of divination in a single book, and, on top of that, to go into enough detail to give you the over all picture, is a size-able feat.
I also learned that some of the forms of divination that I've never been interested in, like palmistry and numerology, but opened me up to others.
YES, YES, YES, YES! This book was everything I wanted from it and more!!! I’m very new to this whole divination practice and such and I learned so much from this book! I thought it was very easy to follow, and helped me get the most out of it. If I was deeper into my journey, it may have been a bit novice to me, but it was definitely exactly what I wanted and needed at the time of reading.
The pictures throughout, and overall lay out of the book was wonderful! I really enjoyed learning more about crystal pendulums, it added a lot to the knowledge I now have. I thought the section about working with runes was very interesting and helped me scratch the surface on the practice. The numerology sections also really intrigued me and made me want to learn even more.
This is definitely a book for beginners. It gives a wonderful overview of a lot of interesting topics. If you are a novice on these topics, this is absolutely a great place to start.
