Savage Winds

I enjoyed reading this book even though I put I aside when I was halfway through because I felt as if it was a bit too drawn-out. On the whole though, this is a charming and captivating story with interesting and very likeable characters. I loved the storyline even though I was a bit irritated that nobody really seemed to mind that the heroine, Ana, was from the future. Sure, she thought about it sometimes but I never felt that she was really upset about it and our hero, Jacen, well, he took it in stride as well. Somehow this didn't feel very right. If I met somebody from the future, I wouldn't stop asking stupid questions for ages and, okay, he is a man, so, sure, not ages and probably not even hours but even a man would be curious and would at least want to know more about the boats in the future, the weapons or whatever, right? And on the other hand, if I was blasted back into the past, I'd have quite a few questions as well and, considering what happened right before that explosion, I think I would have told Jacen or whoever was at hand, about it and about my time and ...you get the meaning, right?
So, not perfect and with some lengths but nevertheless I felt entertained and enjoyed reading it.

-I loved the chemistry between Jacen and Anaelle. There are also a lot of sex scenes in this book; some more explicit than others.
-The author is good at developing characters and describing the environment, be it the buildings, the clothing, the people, or anything else around.
-I loved that the story was divided and went in a circle: explosion/travel in time, romance, battle, explosion/travel in time.
-The one thing I was a bit upset about, other than the editing, was that at one point Anaelle thought: "The idea of being with him ... sat like a rotten clump of bread within her stomach". They had just said moments ago that they loved each other. What else does she want????
-The editing needs a serious pass. Same explosion in June, then in August (1. His boat blew up in June ... 2017; 2. It's August seventh ... it was the date she's gone ... on his boat ... the date it had exploded). Jacen/Jason. Ana/Leah. Mew/Moue. Etc.

Overall, this was a quick read that made time move by. I didn't love the main characters, Ana and Jacen, but I did find their dynamic and the plot of the book to be interesting.

This was a good read for me. I did note a few editing issues and would have the her being from the future would have been addressed more. The story is fast-paced with plenty of drama and lots of steam. An entertaining read.

i have not read a book written from this author, but after reading this book i will keep her in mind when picking my next one.This was a great read you loved it from beginning to end .

I voluntarily read a copy of this book through Netgalley. Loved this time travel book because it has an extra twist to it. The story of Jacen and Ana developed into a great love story that traveled through a second time warp. It was a great read and I would highly recommend it.

I received a free copy of Savage Winds in exchange for an honest review. Usually I don't seek out time travel novels, but in this case I was pleasantly surprised. The transition between history was well done. Overall, I enjoyed the story, but there was a significant part of the book that I skimmed about the war and fighting scenes. It really wasn't an integral part of the plot, and it didn't appeal to me for pleasure reading. I would recommend seeking other reads before this one for that reason.

Ana has worked hard to remove herself from her mobster family. The only person she associates with is a beloved Uncle. She is a marine biologist and loves what she does. She is meeting her Uncle on vacation and is going diving.

As they enjoy spending time together and of course diving, danger arrives. Ana surfaces the water to find 2 men holding a gun on her Uncle and they are looking for something he is supposed to have. Ana can't believe he is still involved in the family business but she tries to save him anyway. The boat explodes and Ana awakens on a ship, in the time of the 1800's.

Ana is very confused of course because she can't find her Uncle of his boat. Why is this man, a hot one at that!, looking at her like she is crazy? He is the one crazy, talking about the year being in the 1800's!!
Ana must face reality though when she finds she really is in the past...

Jacen is on an assignment for General Andrew Jackson. He has to determine if a certain Privateer is truly serious about aiding him in the war or if he is out to sabotage America. Ana has no choice but to travel with Jacen as he is in search of the man.

Will they locate the Privateer? Will he be a friend or enemy? Can they resist their attraction?

I liked this story! Ana is a smart and successful woman who has walked away from what she considered evil in her life, AKA, the mob. Jacen is a man loyal to his country.

The situation gets strained when Jacen locates the Privateer, he has to determine his loyaties without getting himself and Ana killed. Once he determines the truth he must convince Jackson what is right.
Jacen and Ana have begun a relationship but have no idea of the future or if they will even survive the war, or what will happen after. Can Ana go home to her time again even??

I loved how Ana, being the smart and strong woman she is, gets involved in the time of war. Her strength saved many, many more than would have survived if she wasn't there. She does her best for her country and her man.

A very unique time-travel tale that immediately drew me in. The characters were vivid, likable and complex and made the story seem so realistic, that I often felt like I was actually there watching the story unfold. This was an absolutely-delightful, romantic romp.
