Description
Life has heated up for Grayce Walters: thrust into the public eye and
hounded by the media after solving an arson case with a critical clue
from a French Poodle. When Ewan Davis, the sexy arson investigator
Grayce has been steaming things up with, starts talking commitment, she
definitely feels the burn.
Then a desperate mother begs Grayce to
help find her missing daughter—an Afghanistan war veteran suffering
from PTSD, and Grayce reluctantly takes on the case, following a
disturbing clue provided by the missing young woman’s cat. Calling once
again on the aid of her cross-dressing best friend and her shrewd
assistant, Grayce uncovers a terrorist plot with chilling international
implications.
Grayce races to rescue the young veteran before the
escalating danger explodes. But if she manages to escape the threat,
will she find the courage to commit to the fiery passion that awaits her
wrapped in Davis’s arms?

4.5/5 Stars - What a surprise this turned out to be. After reading book 1, "An Inner Fire,"
which I thought was a decent read, I wasn't expecting much with this
follow-up, but I decided I'd give it a chance. I'm really glad I did as
this sequel turned out to be so much better than the first. The author
delivers a terrific and well-written story full of intrigue, mystery,
and romance, all of which flowed smoothly from beginning to end keeping
me engaged throughout. I loved reading about Grayce and Mitzi and how
their involvement in a simple missing person's case took them on a
head-on collision course with danger, putting them upfront and center in
a terrorist plot. You can't help but love Grayce; her strength,
bravery, and determination to help people (and animals); and her love
for Davis. Throughout it all she never forgot Davis and her feelings of
love for him. It was great to see how far they'd come in their
relationship, the love they share for each other, and their
determination to stay together forever. As the story is told from both
POVs, it was great to read from Davis' perspective. I'm a huge fan
reading from both the H/h POV. So in the end I most-definitely recommend
giving this one a read. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping book 3 is
just as good. A very surprising and wonderful read. --Pamela/Goodreads

Acupuncturist who restores the chi of animals, brought about by mayhem and murder. A lady wants her to find her war hero daughter, through her cat. Reluctant to take, which leds her to uncover so much more, fearing for her life, and the feelings for someone. Delightful story and have bought the series, I enjoyed it so much . This was arc from Net Galley for my honest opinion and my voluntary review for book 2.
I really love Grayce. I like the twists and suspense added tot he plot a dash fo romance for good measure and it's a winning recipe.
One thing I have to say is read book #1, which is titled Inner Fire. I was lost on some things in this book, because I didn't realize that there WAS a book #1 before I read Women Under Fire. All in all, I enjoyed the book, and I was able to go back and find information I needed to answer some questions I had when I had them. I'd recommend this book and I will be reading book #1 then re-reading this book!!
