This is a charming and delightful book! The illustrations are adorable and the rhyming text makes for a perfect read-aloud. This is also a counting book which offers even more fun to young listeners. There are children, a dog, adventures and a cold, snowy day. Perfect! Highly recommended!
Told in a charming rhyme, this delightfully illustrated story is about numbers -- counting forwards and counting backwards. The story follows the characters - two children, one dog, and six friends as they dress for winter ("four boots on four stomping feet"), add buttons to a snowman, make snow angels, and blaze trails in the snow. At the end of the day two children and one dog warm up by the fire with two cups of cocoa. Highy recommended for children in both warm and cold climates!
ONE SNOWY DAY is such a sweet sweet children’s book with truly beautiful illustrations. When snow falls two kids and one lively puppy head out for winter fun. They sled, toss snowballs, have puppy play, meet up with friends and more. Darling illustrations and rhyming text make this a charming way for kids to learn to count to ten while having fun. 5/5

As summer winds down and kids are going back to school, it's hard to imagine that winter is around the corner! Diana Murray and Diana Toledano help us anticipate the best days of winter in their new counting book, One Snowy Day.
Two kids and their puppy get up and see the new-fallen snow. They and their friends have a ball sledding, making a snowman, having a snowball fight. During the day, they count up to ten and then back down to one.
Murrays rhymes and Toledano's classic illustrations make the book memorable and re-readable. Kids will have fun counting the objects on each page. It's an idyllic world of snow and fun, just the way a kids books should be. Now, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

What can be better than spending a wonderful winter's day outdoors building, creating and enjoying the possibilities that playing in the snow can bring?
This lyrical rhyming book is also a counting book. The numbers climb up to 10 then back down to 1. It incorporates numeracy into the theme of a delightful winter's romp with your friends.
Millions of snowflakes crown the activities in this small town. ONE sweet rambunctious puppy and TWO bundled up kids are ready to go. They glide on their sleds, swish out snow angels, pack perfect snowballs to throw, sculpt the snow into a giant snowman and then decorate him with buttons and a carrot nose. But wait.... the carrot nose has been stolen by a furry four-legged intruder. Oh My!!! Who could that be? Can the kids retrieve that carrot and finish off their snowman masterpiece completed by his nose? I think they will be surprised when they do discover where the carrot actually does ends up.
This is a perfect book that highlights how engaging winter actually can be. The book showcases a diverse array of friends who eagerly join in the fun with the two siblings. The book's colour pallet depicts the cool colours of the winter landscape outdoors, and then the warm indoor colours that give the reader a sense of coziness and completion. The kids read books, colour and sip hot chocolate. It shows a perfect ending to their delightful snowy day.
I highly recommend this book.
Not only are the illustrations adorable but it's educational too! This book is a very clever counting books that is accompanied by wonderful illustrations of a puppy and his two owners. We're taken on an adventure of a snowy day and it's great to see where it goes. I find that this book is one of the more original ways of counting up to ten and back down again and I love it. It's perfect for any child just learning to count and it's whimsical to boot. Even a parent will enjoy the story!
