Sadie, an American red squirrel, is convinced by her only friend Thu’jold, a great horned owl, to leave their comforts (or lack thereof) in exchange for the Great Lake Eden on the other side of the West Virginia divide. Neighboring predators, a search for a rare flower, threat of mass extermination, a prison break, and a river rescue are just a few of the obstacles encountered throughout their journey to what they hope will be a better place.

This free eBook is the 3rd/Deluxe Edition of the same novel released on June 10th, 2017 through Thurston Howl Publications. It includes an added epilogue as well as the first chapter of the Thicket prequel, Ruby in the Gearbox. Thicket was written by Terry Michael Gildow. He lives in Hanover, Pennsylvania with his wife and three daughters. He was also the bassist for the pop rock group Rosematter.
