This is a shorter book, but it’s a wonderful story for the Christmas season. This story echoes the Biblical account of the prodigal son. Jody deeply hurt her family when she left home with only a short note and no contact with her loved ones for years. Now she’s seeking the love and forgiveness from the family she left behind. This story helps us focus on what grace and redemption really mean in our lives.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Requirement for this novella: 1 or 2 boxes of tissues.

Why didn't anyone warn me this would be a tear jerker? This is a novella of redemption, faith, and hope and forgiveness.

This a short contemporary Christian novella.

This novella tells of a teenager who vanished after leaving a note for her parents. Her parents have searched for her in vain but never found her. Years later, the heroine decides to come home with her children for Christmas after couple of misfortunes in another country.

This is the story of a family dealing with loss, anger, forgiveness, faith, love, hope, compassion, understanding, and most of all, redemption.

This is really well written for a short novella. I was amazed how the author was able to go back and forth between the mother and the daughter in each chapter including another family member. She was able to tie everything together.

Be sure to have tissues ready.

Low 4 stars for a novella

This Christmas novella was very festive and magical. The characters kept me well entertained. However, the story was more Biblical then I expected. It didn’t bother me but it could others. I love reading about grace and redemption. We take it for granted for the most part. It’s not something we see at the time but it happens either way.
