Description

Struggling to learn the reasons for her parents' murder, Cor makes a more complex discovery—a secret society who predicted that someday their world would be devastated. That time is now. In a world where women are not allowed to read, live alone, or pursue knowledge, Cor presses forward, discovering a new magic and the power to wield it. A world away, Atesh works in the Imperial Labs, devoting his study to the turmoil destroying his home and endangering dragonkind. Instead he discovers a long-hidden truth. Humans are real.

A quirky and modern take on dragons and wizards, The Banished Craft begins the genre-bending Shkode high fantasy trilogy about a split world, exploring themes of identity, prejudice, violence, compassion, and the ways we are all connected.

(Meaning, it's best reviewed on more than the first couple of chapters.) The Shkode trilogy is often described as unconventional fantasy. It is not intended to be reviewed for YA or Romance markets. Marketing Plan

The Banished Craft is the first book of the Shkode fantasy trilogy. It takes place across two worlds (human and dragon) and includes a four-dimensional narrator.

This first volume introduces a large number of characters and points of view, which build and intertwine leading to the trilogy’s conclusion.

The trilogy has appealed to readers across age, gender, and backgrounds, and it is most popular with readers who enjoy thought-provoking fantasy with unconventional elements. The author is a vegan, and elements of veganism and non-violence are explored, though primarily in the second book.

The Shkode trilogy is written for adults but is suitable for most teens. Though many YA readers have enjoyed the series, is not intended to be reviewed for general YA fantasy markets.

Readers and reviewers have agreed the series builds and improves as it progresses. A sample of Book 2 is included at the end. If a reviewer enjoys The Banished Craft and would like to review the rest of the trilogy, please contact us at atthis@atthisarts.com.
