I remember seeing a suspense thriller in the 90's called The Net starring Sandra Bullock, a computer hacker running from those who wished to kill her for information she stumbled upon. This movie was much like Digital Recon Computer hacker David was sent to infiltrate a company for information and he ended up eing caught in he middle of company intrigue and the death of someone who tries to out him.David needs to stay one step ahead of the rest to stay alive.. I enjoyed the book, it is a quick read, short chapters that could adapt to a screenplay well. What I didnt like was the chopped off ending that leaves you wanting to know more. I hope there is a sequel to answer some very big questions of who really is Mother ( is David part of the Matrix?) and who are these men who want to kill him? I give it 3.5 stars out of five..
It started out way beyond my comprehension! but I got there slowly and by the end of the story I understood I think the gist of the story and how hackers work and how its done
I think that achieved a lot for a short story.
Enjoyable.
Digital Recon is too short. The science of hacking seems much too complex for this treatment. Just as I thought I might have an understanding of what was happening, everything was wrapped up. I appreciated the glimpse into a fascinating world. I think Mr. Bishop would do well to take this intriguing concept and complex, layered character and place them in a full length novel.
