Shadows of Deja Vu is quite the page turner. I could not put it down, and as a result I'm trying VERY hard not to nod off at my desk this morning! Margo has been plagued with nightmares for months, and it appears that perhaps the nightmares were actually premonitions, when the police show up at her door to tell her that her beloved sister has perished in a car accident--exactly like the one she had dreamed! She heads home for the services and as she discovers facts surrounding her sister's death don't add up, she begins to investigate. She is soon aided by a mysterious handsome stranger, who seems to always appear, just when she needs him the most. I really enjoyed this book. It has elements of romance, mystery and the paranormal. The characters and settings are well drawn and defined. It's fairly twisty and a maybe a smidge too involved, but I enjoyed it a lot. I also enjoyed some of the side characters--especially the young newspaper reporter from the high school--I bet he's going to grow up to be a great investigative journalist. I loved loved loved the paranormal aspects and would love to read more mysteries with these elements. Not super pervasive or overreaching--but intriguing. Definitely gives you a "what if...." vibe. I loved it. The author makes everything feel very real--and I seriously could not stop reading until I got to the end. I haven't read this author before, but I am immediately going to look for more of her work. I highly recommend this book.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
4.5 stars Shadows of Déjà vu is the first book I have read by Kay Brooks and what an introduction it was. Twists, turns, engaging characters and a thrilling read. I really enjoyed this one and will definitely be looking to read more by this author.

I was immediately attracted to the cover of this book: you can see the pretty Margo almost on the top right and a man almost in the middle of the book.
Called to her sister's funeral, Margo TV journalist is haunted by strange dreams that her sister would not have died. She will meet Scott who helps solve murders and come across the case of Brenda James who at twelve years old is murdered.
A romance filled with suspense and twists and turns with a captivating story and engaging characters. We see that the pretty Margo is fighting to untangle the fake from the real on Dianne's death.
This author has talent, I love her pen.
