What a ride! What a read! I downloaded a sample with no knowledge of the author and hence no expectations, but I got a tip and decided to try it. After a few pages I started nervously looking at the percentage read and knew I was buying it. Last night- I tried to sleep, I swear, but I stayed up to 7 am reading it.
This was RIGHT up my alley. I don’t know how to describe it, but this author has a unique voice that somehow defies all rules and makes new ones.
The dialogue in the heroine’s head is priceless. Despite the darkness, this story is so full of humor, and warmth, and life wisdom that it makes me wonder what the author herself has been through!
I kept thinking that this is in part dark romance, in part thriller, and in part the grown version of ‘Inside Out’. I am TOTALLY reading the next book when it hits the shelves.
